This place.... is truly angelic. The grits, potato pancakes, and corned beef hash are all the best you can get in Pittsburgh, hands down. I love this place. Every time I eat here it feels like the first time, it's so good. You can taste the love in this food.

Today was our first visit. We chose this place over the more trendy locations on Mt. Washington because it looked homey and welcoming. The service was phenomenal, the food was perfect and there was enough for us to take half of our meals home for tomorrow. Everything was just as we expected. And the price was great for the portion size. We don't get to Mt Washington often, but we'll absolutely stop by the next time we're near.

Came here after seeing it while scrolling for food choices. If you're curious, I'll hopefully tip your scales into going. Don't judge a book by its cover never held so true. I hope they stay just the way they are. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits with a side of Biscuits and Gravy off a pretty darn good looking menu. There is something for everyone here. The staff were chatty and I even met the Chef. You can see and hear the ongoings and chatter of the kitchen depending on where you sit. The prices are fantastic. You'll be glad you found and picked this place for your next bite.

Absolutely delicious! Passing through the area and came across this wonderful restaurant. We ordered 3 grilled chicken wraps, the bourbon burger, club sandwich with fries, soup of the day which I can't remember the name but it was delicious 😋 EVERY SINGLE THING was amazing!!! What a gem of a restaurant. The waitress was attentive and friendly she just added to the wonderful experience that we had. Thank you for doing it right! You are a 10 out of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ordered the Farmers Omelet and a Bacon Cheese Burger. In the "Special Instructions/Add Notes" section I said- "I cannot eat Green Peppers, please sub them out for Spinach, my thanks". I also requested my burger have lettuce, tomato, onions and mayo on it. My omelet came with Green Peppers and my burger was just bread and meat, no veggies or mayo at all... This all cost me $37 with tip and I got ZERO of what I asked for. I had to toss the omelet completely and the burger was just awful. It's gone hill since COVID and hasn't apparently not come back, probably lost the good cooks to another restaurant or industry so now they suck... My wheat toast was half stale too, I tried but now I'm DONE!

Really great breakfast spot a little outside of downtown Pittsburgh but it’s def worth the trip there! The food was very delicious and had a very homey feel to the place, plus their pancakes are super yummy! And after you are done, go down the street and you’ll get a spectacular view of the city!

I want to start off by saying I was very skeptical. When I placed my UberEats order today I didn’t realize how far away the restaurant was from my location and even consider canceling my order for quality concerns. I’m beyond thrilled with how excellent everything tasted, and was even more surprised by the note that someone had taken the time out to write on my takeout box. I’m not sure what your dream is but whatever it is I am beyond grateful I was able to help support it. Keep up the fabulous work and I can’t wait to experience dining in with you for the first time.

Have not been to the store in person yet but I order breakfast every weekend from here and it is delicious and perfect every time. Always hot cooked correctly and always comes with the correct utensils and condiments without having to ask. Very happy to support this dream today in the past and ongoing!

Their Honey Buffalo Eggs Benedict is phenomenal, and they also (when you ask nicely enough since it's not on the menu) do a Reuben Omelette which is one of the best I've had anywhere, especially in Pittsburgh where it's far better than Ritter's Diner (which is the only other Pittsburgh area diner I've been able to find one). No frills greasy spoon dining at its finest in one of Pittsburgh's most interesting and unique neighborhoods.

Fantastic, local breakfast! We were visiting and looking for somewhere local with mom and pop vibes. The food was the best breakfast food I have had in a long time. Very flavorful, while being simple and well made. Great service as well. Definitely try the iced coffee with coffee ice cubes. Would totally love to come back or it would be my go to spot if I was local!

Great, authentic diner food! The tater tots were crispy and not greasy, and the sausage were so flavourful! Check out this place for all-day breakfast after taking the Monongahela Incline up the hill!

Great local spot we happened upon while visiting the area. The cinnamon roll pancakes were to die for! Loved the kielbasa and homefries as well. Definitely recommend.

I go often and the food is fantastic. Good, home cooking. Owners are so friendly and nice. Big portions and good prices. Wait staff is terrific, very kind, and service is quick. Just don't let Rebecca take your order...she'll scream at you angrily halfway through your meal for no reason.

Great neighborhood eatery. Typically go for breakfast and we got there later so went foe lunch. Husband's burger was tasty and was extended beyond a fresh bun. I had a Mediterranean wrap whuch hands diwn was the best tasting wrap i ever had. Grilled chicken with shredded provolone cheese chopped tomatoes and balsamic vinegar drizzle. Wow was this yummy. Very reasonable priced.

I just moved to Mt Washington and have been to J&J's twice so far, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times I had incredible food, this is an old school Pgh family owned neighborhood diner. Everything is homemade, their biscuits and gravy are delicious. I also had a jalapeno and cheddar burger that was amazing. They give you a stupid amount of fries too. haha Next time I'll take a photo of the food. Great food at a great price - what more can be said?

I ordered my breakfast and lunch for today. My breakfast sandwich was incredible, it didn’t last long enough for the photo. This is lunch. I’ll be ordering again very soon. I’ve passed it so many times and this is my first time. So so good. Best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in a long time.

I love this kind of atmosphere in small restaurants with a long history. Where there is no pathos and glamor. Delicious food as if cooked at home. And where the staff is well acquainted with each of its clients. Was here on a Sunday for lunch. This restaurant was not prepared for so many visitors. All the seats were taken, and people were also waiting in line at the entrance. Three waitress girls tried their best to cope with their work, but they were clearly not ready for such a number of visitors. The cooks were not in the best position - half the people there were waiting for their food. Note to restaurant manager - either hire more people or limit seating during busy times like these.

If you're looking for a friendly neighborhood spot with good comfort food then you found the place. The staff are efficient and friendly and the food is tasty. Don't come if you're watching calories because everything is so tempting and delicious. We especially liked the grits and the burgers

The BEST place for some real home cooked food. Makes u feel like your mom's in the kitchen. Breakfast all day, everyday. They don't know how to make bad meals. Great value too. Worth the 2 and a half hour drive. Love them!!

I visited on a weekday morning. There was only one waitress and she was busy, so it did take a while to get served, however she was great. I ordered a large meal of potatoes, eggs, peppers, and sausage. It was okay, not much flavor and pricey for a diner.

This is definitely a gem of a diner. Breakfast has been incredible every time and the staff is attentive and very friendly. I highly highly recommend this place.
