ONLY
for
the
sake
of
hanging
out
in
a
hot
tub-
myself
and
three
others
decided
to
book
ONE
night
at
this
hotel
FOR
$250
after
the
Michigan
game
this
past
Saturday.
We
could
have
easily
driven
home
after
the
game
as
it
was
a
day
game
and
we
only
live
a
half
hour
away,
but
thought
it
would
be
fun
and
relaxing
to
spend
some
time
in
a
hot
tub.
At
no
point
in
the
week
between
booking
and
arriving,
nor
upon
check-in
were
we
informed
that
the
hot
tub
was
closed.
If
we
were
informed
upon
check-in,
we
would
have
gladly
taken
a
refund
and
driven
home
to
do
what
we
did
at
this
hotel-
sit
in
a
room
and
watch
TV.
As
soon
as
we
realized
the
hot
tub
was
closed,
we
asked
the
man
at
the
front
desk
if
we'd
be
able
to
get
a
refund
as
that
was
the
only
reason
we
booked
a
hotel
at
all.
He
stated
we
needed
to
speak
the
manager
who
(conveniently)
would
not
be
there
until
the
morning.
Upon
checking
out
the
next
morning,
we
kindly
asked
the
manager
for
a
DISCOUNT
and
explained
to
him
that
we
would
not
have
booked
a
hotel
at
all
(let
alone
for
$250
for
one
night)
had
we
known
the
hot
tub
would
be
closed.
He
said
"Unfortunately
not.
It's
an
event
weekend".
Apparently
meaning
that
because
they
charged
everyone
double
the
normal
price
due
to
the
Michigan
game,
that
it
is
impossible
to
provide
any
discount
i.e.
charge
us
a
normal,
reasonable
price
for
one
night
considering
our
situation.
This
man
could
have
decided
to
give
us
a
discount
and
we
would
have
happily
walked
away
and
probably
even
returned
due
to
his
courtesy,
but
instead
he
decided
to
keep
the
extra
money
that
would
have
put
a
very
small
dent
in
the
approximately
$31,500
they
made
in
that
one
night
(126
rooms
x
$250).
I
will
be
reporting
this
to
the
BBB
as
you
cannot
charge
(and
advertise)
for
amenities
that
you
are
not
providing.
Side
note:
when
I
asked
the
manager
why
we
couldn't
have
been
notified
of
the
hot
tub
closure
beforehand,
he
said
"Well
actually
it
was
an
emergency.
You
know
what,
the
pump
exploded
on
Friday".
Which
means
we
"couldn't"
have
been
notified
on
Friday
(while
we
still
had
free-cancellation)
or
during
check-in
at
the
very
least,
OR
have
been
offered
a
discount
or
refund.
Small
tip:
maybe
keep
an
extra
hot
tub
pump
on-hand
so
you
don't
have
to
close
the
hot
tub
for
six
days.
Aside
from
this
huge
disappointment,
the
hotel
was
very
outdated,
there
were
stains
all
over
the
lamp
shades
in
the
room,
the
TV
was
maybe
a
40-inch,
and
the
free
breakfast
was
barely
edible
(not
to
mention
breakfast
area
was
about
5
times
too
small
to
have
100+
people
trying
to
serve
themselves
breakfast).
We
will
not
be
returning
here
ever,
and
we
frequent
Ann
Arbor
hotels
several
times/year.
