Giant park with several different areas to relax, walk, or play. Plenty of beer gardens and food trucks. Spectacular crocus blooms in early spring make entire sections completely purple.

Great and wide place to have a walk, practice sport or enjoy the nature. Full of life, cookies and quite peaceful, it’s also a great place to relax and meditate. There are plenty of different areas within the park. You can find several species of animals living in freedom. It’s a wonderful place. I strongly recommend it When you are in Munich! =)

Beautiful park. I pass by every day on my commute to work and it's always a good start to the day (and after work too I guess) You can play soccer, table tennis, or just walk around and talk with the surrounding ducks (there are many ducks, like many). It should have been called "Duck Park"

Very nice park and often not crowded. Make sure to have a look at some of the Asian architecture there. Good place to bring young kids, there are extra large slides that the children in the area and from outside of the area enjoy. Nice and safe place to go jogging and exercising.

Bitte an Wechselkleidung denken.

Location is good and family friendly. Not many easy parking for cars but still offers great leisure nonetheless. Common sights are Japanese garden and structures. Environment is natural with trees and birds and water bodies. They can do a little better in cleaning and recycling trashes. Most trashes are filled and overflowing. Bathroom is good location as children park is nearby. In all its a good place but one finds places with better experiences in Munich on same comparison level such as Olympic Park. A feature here is outdoor workout session free to join for all, and rose garden section with outdoor diner.

Nice Park, very wide and with various options of things to do, from riding a bike, to running, having a barbecue, playing card games or just having a small bite. This park offers enough possibilities for you to have fun, also for kids.

Simply the best park in Munich. Note that there are two parts of the park connected by the bridge. Be sure to check Gans Am Wasser in the east side of the park.

Amazing park, with a lot of good spots to rest or meditate, makes a grill or other event or playing sports with your friends. The flora is amazing, there are a lot of birds, too, and just check the pictures: rabbits! Wild rabbits/hares in a park! Wow!

Beautiful and pretty large garden in the west part of Munich city! The gardens, flower clusters, playing areas and the lakes are very well maintained. Plenty of space for walking and playing... There are a couple of beer-gardens, cafés and kiosks within the zone and also built-up play areas for kids. There's also a Chinese themed garden and a Nepal themed little temple here. Indeed a beautiful place! Highly recommended.

Munich is a beautiful city with parks in every neighborhood. Westpark is one of the bigger ones, very well maintained. You could go for a run, walk or even grill! (Might be quite crowded in the weekends, prepare to be flexible with the spot you cud find.) On the weekends, one can also see the RC boats in the small pond.

I just love this park and everything there. My favorite running location for short (under 5k) runs. Has a nice lake and geese are very friendly. There are BBQ locations as well. It can get pretty busy on weekends though.

I visited on Monday, 18.12.2023. As it is a weekday, it was not crowded. Very peaceful. Easily reachable by U6. I walked the entire park, took just over 2.5 hr. I spent good time taking pictures and capturing duck swimming. Good place for jogging, walk or simply sunbath during winter. There is a Japanese bungalow,a Thai temple, and a Nepalese pagoda. ( I am from Nepal and I was happy to see Nepalese pagoda here, though it was closed to enter). There are lakes and many ducks.

Great location for jogging, leisurely walks, sports and games. There are several lakes (not for swimming!), a rose garden, an East Asian garden, barbecue areas and playgrounds for the little ones. Each season has something new to offer, be it the beautiful flowers in Spring, the outdoor cinema in Summer or the sledging in Winter. There are also several cafes, beer gardens, open food stalls and a restaurant. Highly recommended.

West Park holds a special place in my heart after the English Garden. It's a large park with a long stretch of greenery. The best time to visit is when winter subsides and spring begins, as the park comes alive with vibrant colors and fresh foliage. What makes West Park truly unique is the influence of East-Asian culture, which adds to the park's beauty. Visitors can explore the Thai-Sala, a pagoda-style structure inspired by Bangkok's architecture, as well as the Nepal Pagoda, China Garden, and Japanese garden. Each of these features is a testament to the park's rich cultural heritage. West Park is a must-visit for friends and family looking for a peaceful retreat. The park offers a range of activities, including jogging, cycling, or simply taking a leisurely stroll. The park's serene atmosphere and beautiful surroundings make it the perfect place to unwind and relax.

This park offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere that is perfect for relaxation and leisure. The park's lush green spaces, charming ponds, and colorful flowerbeds create a picturesque setting that's a pleasure to explore. Whether you want to take a leisurely walk, have a picnic, or simply bask in the beauty of nature, West Park has it all. The park also features lovely paths for jogging and cycling, making it a favorite spot for outdoor enthusiasts. If you're looking for a tranquil escape from the city, West Park is the perfect destination.

As a park it’s phenomenal, but as a garden there is a bit to be desired. Fantastic design from 30 years ago, but maintenance of the plants could be improved.

It's always a delight to visit this park. Specially when there's a little bit of sun / light rain. The lake is pretty good. Also, you have a really small pseudo-hill which gives you a really decent view. Perfect for going out for a run, to cycle around, or just walk.

Munich is a perfect place to be for all nature lovers because it has a lot of parks. I prefer visiting rather medium size parks rather than the huge ones, which maybe is maybe why Westaprk is the most beautiful park that I visited so far in Munich. You can go through this park in less than an hour and visit all the cool Asian temples that are there (for visiting the temples you will not be charged). While I was there, as in many parks in Munich, I saw people performing sports together, like joga and zumba. Westpark is definitely a park that I would recommend you to visit if you are a nature lover.

A very nice and tidy park. + Nice body of water (+ RC boats allowed) + Ducks + Playgrounds + Mobile bathrooms + Nice night lighting - Maybe a little bit monotonous - Not possible to park rented e-scooters at the entrance (no-parking zone stretches out too far)

Westpark is probably my favorite park in Munich. It won awards for the best park in Munich for several years. The park is divided into differently themed sections. Make sure to visit them all! 1) An Asian corner: here you'll find a Thai temple, a typical Japanese house, a Chinese rest house, and a Nepali temple. This corner is definitely a favorite spot. 2) A Bavarian house section: here you'll find a typical old Bavarian house that has been reserved in the park. 3) The Flowers park: here, you'll find a variety of blooming beautiful flowers, especially in spring. 4) a Beergarten: here you can relax and have a drink while having a nice view of the lake. 5) A kids playground. 6) A small Theater with a hill next to it that looks at the whole park. 7) A little river on the other side of all what I mentioned above.

Beautiful place to spend your free time morning, noon or evening. You can do jogging or sir around and enjoy the beauty of Nature, if you are lucky and it's sunny then lake side is best place. Enjoy alone or with friends, can play balls or any game, bottle of beer or snack/lunch in afternoon would be nice to carry.Bike rider can enjoy the good ride as well.

Very big park. Dedicated place for BBQ. A lot of space to play active games or a kite. A lake with swans, gooses, and ducks in the southern part. Another one in the northern part where one can ride boat models. No swimming allowed though. Two biergartens in different parts of the park. In two words - very good place for waking and activities.

Now with Lockdown, and not being able to travel for skiing, we are blessed with a lot of snow at the moment. Westpark is full of little hills and slopes, ideal for small and big for sledding etc. The big pond is at times frozen over. There are people doing "Langlauf" on their skis, super exercise. And plenty of others just taking a stroll. There is the vintage Arty place, "Ganz am Wasser" run by a group of young folks.... Which is another story in itself, they always have great homemade snacks to takeaway(which is all that is allowed now), they have heartily decorated the place with colorful lights as dusk begins to fall. Then at the entrance of Westpark from Nestroystr. Is the Nestroy Garten. A Croatian restaurant with quite a number of traditional meals as well as typical Bavarian. Full meals to takeaway, costs less then the other. All good.

Decent sized park in the west of München. There are a few dedicated grill zones for BBQ, a few Asian culture preservation sites and a rose garden. There is a small basketball and football court. There is parking lot outside the park as well. Ideal for a walk, biking and relaxing on a weekend.
