Townsgate Apartments

Apartment complex Apartment rental agency

🫤 Very expensive to rent here for what it is. Almost $1800 for 2/1 with NO washer and dryer plus other fees on top make it just too much to pay. The plumbing is awful as we had one overflow from the bathroom and toilet gets stopped up very easily. Kitchen very tiny bit big enough for two people to fit... People often mention issues, parking, apartment, time, good, great,

Very expensive to rent here for what it is. Almost $1800 for 2/1 with NO washer and dryer plus other fees on top make it just too much to pay. The plumbing is awful as we had one overflow from the bathroom and toilet gets stopped up very easily. Kitchen very tiny bit big enough for two people to fit comfortably while cooking. Oh, and the laundromat here is out half the time and they charge for that as well. Lastly, parking is horrible if you have more than one vehicle. If rent wasn’t so much some of these minor issues could be overlooked…but it’s just not worth almost $1800 per month.

Let me start out by saying that the place is under new management as of November 2020, so anyone reading this after the fact should take that into account. The new management seemed very professional and capable, but I can't speak to them as I moved out just as they were taking over. This was my first apartment I found, rented, and lived in after college. I'll start out with the good. The location is great. An equally short drive from either Tampa or Lakeland and very close to the highway. Decent food and grocery options close by. A decently spacious apartment, two pools, and a nice car wash area. The staff were always understanding and accomodating. Special thanks to Sherry, who is no longer there. Wherever you are, know that you are appreciated. When things were good, they were great. Now, for the bad. The dryers in the laundry rooms rarely dry even half loads in one go, and the laundry isn't free. The ceilings are thin so you can always hear people above you, and most critically, there was a steady stream of maintenance issues. We had mold come up in our second bedroom several times before the issue was fixed, rendering it useless and making us sick. Pipes leaked in the walls on numerous occasions triggering late night calls from maintenance (excellent, friendly, and helpful people). It got to the point that we never really felt "at home". The staff try their best, but the buildings are simply dated and need updating that goes past the surface level. When we weren't having issues and our upstairs neighbors were quiet, we were happy here. It's more affordable than other places but I'm still not sure it's worth the money. It appears that the new owners have started addressing these things, and the place honestly has potential, but these are issues that should be addressed. With the frequent maintenance issues, we always felt uneasy about leaving or putting things in place and settling in. I hope it gets better here, because it's really a nice little community that could be great if these issues were solved.

This complex sucks the reason being: a). The parking (not enough parking for guests) b) The onsite laundry facility is always full, or not enough washers and dryers vacant. c) The pool is closed most of the time. d) The staff made an open parking spot "a handicap spot" without notice., (my vehicle was parked there, and without ANY notice, the management put a handicap sign in front of my vehicle, while I was out of town)! e) All units have "Only" one bathroom. f) The traffic sucks every morning between exit 19 and Macintosh Rd. Really not worth $1100 for rent! Location! Location! Location! Thanks for reading my review. This makes it difficult to relocate.

Mr Staggs, it may help to understand that it takes time to completely renovate a pool including pulling permits!! If you look by the office parking, the equipment is sitting there waiting for the permits in order to start the project. Everyone including businesses are going through a pandemic which has significantly slowed progress. I have worked here for many years and this is the first time the pool has been closed for longer than a day or two. We would appreciate questions first in order to understand what may be going on before passing judgment too soon. Most communities do not have 2 pools and we are lucky to still have a pool that is open! Most apartment communities are not sound proof. This is not a house, but most are understanding that you will hear other noises by neighbors to a certain extent while living in apartments. Parking is managed the best of our capabilities. We cannot 100% control parking BUT MAY I ADD every tenant has 1 assigned parking spot of their own to try to curb most issues. If we could build more parking we would and if tenants wouldn't have unauthorized excessive guests it could be managed better as well. Thank you for your non tenant review, but judging for "one" other person isn't really a fair is it.....we have NUMEROUS long term happy tenants who have lived there for 5, 10, 15, and 25 years. We do the best we can, but sometimes renting isn't for everyone. Thank you for your reviews, but we also desire to be given a chance to communicate and explain certain situations like the pool renovation in person instead of online. We hope your future stays bright and prosperous. Thank you.

Everyone I have encountered in the office is nice. The inside of my apartment is really nice and updated. Outside maintenance is kept up. It's convenient to I-4 and it's pretty quiet. The walls between the apartments are veryyy thin however, as long as your neighbors aren't too noisy it's bearable. Otherwise great place to live and I recommend!

I have lived here since Feb of 2017 so a few months now. The office staff is absolutely amazing. The Facility is kept pretty clean compared to many other apartment complexes and the cost is affordable. I have no compaints other than stairwells being cleaned a bit more!

Just got apartment at Townsgate, the apartment was in great shape, the person that helped me with the paperwork and gave me the keys was Naisha Agostini, she is not good, but OUTSTANDING in her work, 5 stars all the way around, she helped me with the computer work needed to get started in living here, you will need to make all your payments over the internet and some other things as well, she helped me with everything and gave me some great information. She is very professional, and excellent with her work on helping you get in. There is another woman in the office her name is Grace she is cool as well.

Lived in two different apartments here, everything was just fine during my move in and my move out. Much less issues here than I have had in other apartments I have lived in. Good location. I recommend it. Like most other places, you come across some minor issues, but they were always taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. We live in a world of crime, but I felt perfectly comfortable during both my stays.

My family and I are very happy with the kindness of the services they provided us on the day we decided to rent. The service is very good. They helped us a lot with the applications and everything since it was our first time renting apartments. Everything is very clean and organized. I am happy and proud to be here, I thank you for being a good team and working so hard so that people like us feel good and happy 🥰
