What a nice addition to this park. Admittedly, I haven't visited since I was a Boy Scout, many moons ago. The place was immaculate and offered a variety of goods needed for camping and outdoor fun. They also had a cafe and served food at a very reasonable price. I totally recommend a day with the family or just get away by yourself. Either way the peace and tranquility certainly suits anybody looking to get away for a while.

Fair prices and and good food. The staff was very friendly and the had plenty of seating. The serve beer as well with fair prices. They have supplies for camping and some hats, shirts and novelties. The rental area for kayaks and cruisers and golf carts is attached to the cafe and the pool is behind it. The public restroom is down a little ways but I believe the cafe has one for patrons.

Pretty upset that a nature park insists their drinks be a plastic cup when you can’t even take them out of the building. First my dad got a beer in glass can so I figured it was bc they didn’t want them taken outside and broken in the park but then I went and purposely got a white claw in an aluminum can and she STILL insisted on a plastic cup and told me we can’t leave the building. She had an attitude with me and went on bashing my dad (not knowing he was) about how “that man also wanted it in the can” with a sneer. Wish I could get her name but she was not very nice and the park needs to change their rules to be more with the times. Edit: found a sign advertising their “solar powered energy” bragging about that when in other areas they don’t give a ff.

I love how the park has paths, trails and boardwalks as well as a bridge and campgrounds. The gift shop is a must visit, and all proceeds go to help the park. Make sure you don't leave food out, or squirrels will steal it. These photos were from a more recent adventure I took. I love going back and seeing who else shows up.

Great place to camp and relax. Park was very well maintained. Very nice hiking and bike riding trails along the Hillsborough River. Scenery was spectacular and better enjoyed hiking along the trails. Lots of areas to relax along the trail and take it all in. Fishing spots were plentiful and serene. Lastly the gift shop had great prices with friendly staff. Can't believe I didn't come here sooner.

Awesome hidden away wildlife refuge and hiking area. You can even host events such as weddings here! Parking is plentiful and the fees are low. I highly recommend, and if you're lucky you'll spot a gator on the suspension bridge trail

The pool was closed but we had a nice lunch on the picnic tables. It was so clean and lots to see.

The state park is nice. It has an excellent walking trail along the river. However the pool and concession stand has been closed since the start of covid and now they claim they're remodeling for the next year. It seems to be very poorly managed for the amenities.

There are not many good hiking trails in Tampa area. This is one of the good one. Yet after the hurricane it is in need of maintenance.
