This park is amazing. I drove about an hour from Largo because a random lady who I met in a different park recommended a visit here. I was so glad I listened to her. I saw and photographed so many critters: birds, alligators, turtles, squirrels - even a black cat! This park was so lush and green. I was there the whole day and still didn't get to do everything the park has to offer.

A beautiful park and so worth the price that you pay. A wide variety of birds that you see as well. The boardwalk is nicely maintained and you get to see a lot of species on the walk. I highly recommend if you want to spend a short or a long time. There are picnic tables to have a meal to spend a longer time.

What a lovely park. There are paved paths, nature trails, and boardwalks. Public restrooms and water fountains available. Kayak and canoe rentals available. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because it costs $2 to get in. The cost is not a lot, but there are many parks that are just as great that I don't have to pay anything to enter.

The boardwalk and paved walking trail make this a nicely accessible park. Many people use the park to get some quiet, nature-filled exercise. Call or check the website to see if canoes/kayaks are available to rent, and explore the far shorelines for birds and alligators. Pavilions are available to rent as well. There's also a large kids playground area. Pets and bikes are allowed in the park, but they cannot go on the boardwalk. The scenery can be dramatically different if you visit during different times of year, so be sure to come back and see what's changed.

Wow! My new favorite park. Walked 3 miles and it was lovely. It was super clean, only $2 for parking and you get to see some cool things along your walk. I’ll definitely be back. You can even rent a canoe here.

Great place to birdwatch and spot gators. Large park with boardwalks through the swamp and along the Hillsborough River. I love climbing up the observation tower to watch birds flying over the river and spot gators occasionally below in the clear River. There is a circular hiking and biking trail around the park plus other unpaved trails winding through the woods and around the playground and picnic area. You can rent canoes and kayaks to spend some time out on the slowly moving River. Rentals are paid for at the entrance booth. Park entrance fee is $2 per car. In Dec 2021 the boardwalks were a little confusing. They are now 1-way and park of a boardwalk is closed off. The visitor center had a couple signs on the 4 or 5 doors to the building that directed you to use another entrance. All the entrances were locked even though all the lights were on inside. Lots of visitors were walking around the building trying to figure out how to get in. 🤔

Bountiful of nature and beauty. . Definitely recommended activity if you are in Largo to see the wildlife and enjoy the Flora and the fauna. . We were able to spot numerous alligators , tortoises, flamingo, gillinule, heron and lots more. . They have a decent long boardwalk and also a tower somewhere in the middle . . There is plenty of parking available. . Highly recommended to wear appropriate clothing, even though there is shade of the tree the sun can get into your skin . Also have hydrating liquids..

Park it's a MUST! From the viewing tower to the different trails available , the park offers a lot to do and see. Kayaks and canoe rentals are available, picnic tables, grill spots, set up a hammock like I seen and enjoy all the shaded area the park offers. Very clean bathrooms available in several places. Bring your bike or walk the trails under some beautiful trees and nature.

Incredible day on the water kayaking. The water lettuce was so pretty to see. We didn’t see any alligators 🐊 but heard others on the water say they saw 4-5.

It's $2 to get in for a vehicle. Worth $2 to get into the park and walk around. Boardwalk is well maintained, got to see some gators. The views are beautiful.

Beautiful park with lots of amenities. There were working water fountains throughout, great paths, a beautiful boardwalk, clean bathrooms, play structures, picnic tables, and shade shelters that could be reserved. There was also a very nice welcome center with information about the park. Along the boardwalk there was a great viewing tower where I got to see lots of gators, fish, birds and people on the lake.

Beautiful park! Well maintained with hammock trails, paved trail and a boardwalk. They also have a nature center, plenty of bathrooms, water fountains and dog stations. Lots of pavilions and a play ground. Only $2.00 a car or free with a park pass. We saw a lot of gators today and turtles. A few turtles and fish (pictures didn’t turn out right). Few birds and lots of beautiful trails. The hammock trails (dirt) are a little muddy but still doable.

This is a great park. Warning: it costs $2 cash at the gate. Totally worth it. There is an observation tower along the boardwalk. Canoes, kayaks, bathrooms, walking trail, picnic shelters, a playground. It’s beautiful. One time, we saw 10 gators. Many times we see no gators. And other times we see only one. It’s very hit or miss. But it’s always pretty.

Ever since I moved to Florida I remember coming to this beautiful park. It just gets better with age, they do a great job keeping it up. This time I went part of the boardwalk was closed I'm sure due to all the rain, so that wasn't a disappointment at all. Just love coming to a place that can remind me of nice childhood memories. My son loved it here, he rode his scooter the whole way around. Then went and played on the super filled park as there were lots of parties going on. It was a blast nonetheless. Only a 2 dollar entry fee, so that's a nice weekend we'll spent with family 👪 😊 💕

An amazing and beautiful park to visit in Tampa Area. It has paved paths as well as include nature trails where you can see birds as well as alligators. It has a broad-walk through which one can walk and enjoy the beauty of the park. It also has public restrooms and water fountain available which are clean. Lettuce Lake park also has a playground where you can take your kids to play and enjoy. Pets are allowed in the park with lots of dog stands available. Lettuce lake park also has a lot of shelter areas which gives an ample of opportunity to do picnics in the park and enjoy as well as relish in the nature. One can canoe as well as kayak in the park which is an amazing opportunity. The entry fees to enter the park is 2$ in cash. In lettuce lake park you can definitely enjoy your weekend with the family with ample of opportunities for everyone to enjoy.

Hidden gem! This place is beautiful and peaceful. There's so much wildlife to view. The trails are well maintained and marked well. The park was a hit for the whole family. We saw a gator, many birds, and a turtle. I got lost in the sauce, so I didn't get a ton of photos, but the place is beautiful, and you need to check it out! The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The staff were informative and kind. The visitor center was awesome as well. There's a small entrance fee, and they only take cash. There are a few stores nearby with ATMS!

For the Tampa/St Petersburg/Clearwater area, this was one of the best walking parks we visited. In our search to see alligators in the wild, we visited 4-5 other state/county/city parks. Not only was this the only one we saw Gators at, we saw two. This was also the most beautiful of all the parks we visited. I would definitely go back.

So glad I stopped to see this beautiful local park during my brief work-related visit. An impressive feature was the QR codes along the trail which connect you to an audio tour where you can learn more about the wildlife and unique features of the park. The boardwalk is great for families or anyone who wants to see the stunning water view without trailblazing--there's even a lookout tower close by! A mere $2 per vehicle, with pricing options for seasonal packages as well. Very clean, well maintained, and felt safe.

Really nice, sprawling, and diverse park… great for picnicking and boating, hiking/boardwalks and getting out a bit. $2 admission, plus additional fees for boat rental. Pavilions are free to use. Had a great time for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

Large well shaded park with plenty of picnic spots and restrooms, making a day trip very accommodating. The trail is a mix of pavement, gravel and elevated boardwalk, giving way to splendid views of the lake, lush vegetarian and wildlife. If preference is a natural Florida setting, this is a good place to visit.

Definitely worth the time to go around on the boardwalk. Saw turtle eating bread in the water, black-crowned night heron near by the watch tower and saw lots of birds across the lake.. Beautiful place to picnic and spacious too. Clean toilets. Very well maintained park. Thank you for the experience! I love it!

Got to see lots of alligators, including some babies. Cool nature center that is like a mini museum. Great boardwalk to experience the wetlands and wildlife from above, and a tower with impressive views. Several kayakers we're on the water -- looks like fun, if you don't mind the alligators.

Awesome park. Note there is an entry fee of 2 bucks per car. No biggie. But this park has an awesome bike trail. You can rent canoe's to use on the rivers within the park. There is a nature boardwalk that spans a good amount of the park in which you can see lots of work life out there.. be cautious of spider webs and bees tho. And lastly there is a small information museum/kiosk that has maps of the area/park and the wild life and foliage the resides in the area! Well worth a visit by yourself or with your family or friends😁‼️

Lettuce Lake Park is a county park that is located on Fletcher Avenue. This is an excellent location; because not only are lots of people near it, but the river flows through the area. Everything in the park is well taken care of, and the visitors in the park are friendly as well. Because we went during the dry season, we were a bit disappointed. However, we still had fun. There’s miles of safe walking trails, and a boardwalk as well. The observation trail was very good as well. We saw an alligator and a water moccasin during our visit. Overall, Lettuce Lake Park is an excellent place to spend time!

Nice park for hiking, biking, picnics. Long boardwalks and trails to walk. Really cool 3 or 4 story wood platform overlooking the river. Canoe and kayak launches. Really large open area for picnics. When we were there several huge groups birthday partiers and family reunions were eating and playing. Several hundred people. There was still room for twice as many people and it still been comfortable without being on top of each other.

This park is nestled near the edge of the USF college campus. I was blown away that there's such a treasure of a natural preserve in the middle of the bustling and busyness of a city. There's a little bit of everything here canoeing, bird watching, and even Gators. If you're looking for a nice day out just enjoying nature this is the place to be with the city and all of its businesses are a rock's throw away.

Clean park with a long, winding boardwalk and different trails to observe nature and wildlife in their habitat. It was only $2 to enter and park (up to 8 people). Expect to spend at least 2 or 3 hours here walking the boardwalk and spending time at the observation tower, taking pictures if you like, and exploring one or more trails. You really need to look for most of the wildlife, because they naturally blend in with the surroundings. The park seems to close at different times throughout the year, so you’ll need to take that into account when planning to visit. Canoe rentals are available, although I did not explore that option this visit. Currently ranked in the Top 10 most popular things to do in Tampa.

Great park to walk and bike in. Price to get in was $3 for our car. I'd recommend bringing binoculars to look at the wildlife from the observation tower. In the nature center, there are some goofy taxidermy animals worth looking at.

Well maintained park. Worth the $2 admission. The board walk during the week was not very busy, shared it with 6-8 people. Most quiet and respectful. Very nice park, we plan another visit soon. Great place to see Turkey Vultures in their winter habitat.

I LOVE this place! I could spend the whole day here! There are paved walk/hike/run/bike trails, nature trails, boardwalk, canoe & kayak rental, rentable picnic shelters, playground, and probably more that I haven't even discovered yet!

  • 5/5 Brad H. 1 year ago on Google
The boardwalk allows you to really get into the lake/marsh and get much closer with nature and see much more than you would otherwise. This is one of those spots that we always take friends and relatives who are down visiting us. It's in a super easy and convenient location on the outskirts of Tampa. We've been several times and at different times of the year and we've always seen an alligator or two, a range of birds, and of course lots of vegetation. There are signs a long the boardwalk teaching you about the various fauna and flora, and more can be discovered at the visitor center. In addition, there's a fun play park for the kids very close to the visitor center.

My daughter wanted to see alligators in their natural habitat, and we found this place. Beautiful park, with lots of different trees with info cards and birds. You really do get a one with nature feel here. There was even a playground for the kids.

A beautiful park nestled in the Tampa area. The 2 dollar donation is money well spent. The nature center is a great way to start then on to the boardwalk. This boardwalk and observation tower are in my opinion the crown jewels of the park. You will be all but guaranteed to see some amazing Florida wildlife each and every time you come. But make no mistake, the other trails and Canoe and Kayak rentals make this a park anyone can enjoy young or old. And don't forget the picnic areas located all over this top notch park..

  • 5/5 Hethyr F. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing experience in this park! I'm adding my review here also, since the park is listed twice in Google and both have reviews. The cost is amazing to come in at $2 for our car. The area is beautiful and the wildlife is great too see. We didn't see any large gators, only small ones but they were still fun to watch (nap time). Turtles, birds and more birds, fish, and beautiful scenery. One part of the boardwalk and climbing the tower were closed when we were there. If you have under an hour, you can see a ton. I highly recommend coming by if you're in the area and have time!

  • 5/5 Michael Y. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent family park. The boardwalk and tower are great fun and well maintained. The nature center is informative and worth looking into while at the park. There is a small playground that would interest younger kids. Canoe and kayak rental is available onsite from the rangers but we did not do that while there, but it would be a good place to paddle. We saw lots of small alligators, turtles, birds, and a snake. It does cost $2 to enter but that goes to supporting the park and its upkeep.

Nice park not far from Tampa. Plenty of places to visit, pathways throughout the park for sightseeing. Opportunities for gators, turtle, snake and bird viewings. Plenty of nice swamp views as well

  • 5/5 Rick F. 9 months ago on Google
Lettuce Lake is a family friendly park and fairly quiet considering its proximity to the I-75 junction. Abundant seasonal wildlife can be found as below, ruby-throated hummingbird. These 3" birds migrate to this area from March to August before heading south to Central America. There may be a year around RT hummingbird at Lettuce Lake, but will be more difficult to find when the firebush is not in bloom.

Great place for kayaking, the staff was helpful and polite. You might want to go a bit early in the morning to not have a wait to get your kayak on the water. Keep in mind you might not see that many gators when it's cold.

It’s a nice area however, I expected a longer boardwalk or even hiking trails to explore. The park has picnic areas and is pet friendly ( on a leash) however, if you desire a long, peaceful walk I suggest seeking another spot. It’s filled with people, bird watches beware of noises, and it just was a little disappointing. I had higher expectations based upon reviews, pictures etc.

We were recommended to stop here and do some nature hikes. We decided not to take the dogs because the rules say no dogs on the boardwalk. Which there were alot of dogs on the boardwalk. However this is a very large park with alot of walking trails including the boardwalk.. On our stroll we saw a variety of wildlife native to Florida, including alligators, snakes birds, turtles and large fish. The cost was 2 dollars to get into the park. And if you decide to kayak or canoe, they have the paddles at the front building. Would recommend this park.
