This place is phenomenal. Our server, Daniel was excellent!! The options they have are plentiful. However, I decided to be complicated and ask for just mushrooms and white sauce. They asked the Chef and he said he could make it for me. And wow. Unbelievable!! Fabulous prices. With Charcuterie board, 2 pasta dishes, a bottle of wine, 2 deserts and tip all came out to less than $60. It was absolutely phenomenal. If you’re looking for good Italian; this is the place!

Fresh, flavorful and delicious. If you want a break from tacos, this is the place for you. Cute atmosphere and a warm vibe. Ideally make reservations due to limited seating. Very affordable as well.

I've heard this place described as the best Italian food in Mexico; and although I technically agree, I think that description does disservice to the culinary ingenuity and prowess on display at this one of a kind restaurant. They take you on a journey through the various edible regions of Italy without being a slave to it's traditional recipes. It truly is a food laboratory of the highest order, where the herbs are grown in house and the freshness of its ingredients come forth in marvelous and unexpected ways. Scratch made pasta may be the star of the show, but what makes this place truly special is that it is a celebration of the bounty of Mexico and the diversity of it's culture. From the wine and beer to the beans and grains; If it is grown or made in Mexico it will be used to craft one of the very best meals you will ever participate in. Even the prices are incredibly low considering the quality, a testament to the character of it's proprietors. This high end food isn't just for wealthy tourists looking for a date night, its art and beauty is meant to be shared with all who live and travel here. For an extra special treat go for breakfast and prepare to be wowed by incredible homemade bagels and the most amazing coffee you will ever have the honor of consuming. This isn't just the best restaurant in Cozumel, it is one of the very best in all of the world. This is the true essence of joy and the love of cooking. It's passion can be seen on all the faces of the wonderful people here waiting to serve it to you. My wife and I talk about it loud and often, and look forward to coming back year after year for yet another culinary masterpiece.

Easily the best food on the entire island. It was out of this world. We have tuna tartare and shrimp mac and cheese to name a few. The chef(s) we’re amazing. The staff was attentive and prompt. The service and food quality were world class. 6 stars. Must go.

Delicious experience! Probably some of the best food we've eaten in Mexico so far. The bread sampling platter was definitely a highlight, and while both of our pasta dishes could have used a little salt, they were both cooked beautifully. The mussels tasted incredibly fresh also! When it came to the tiramisu dessert - absolute perfection. Definitely the best tiramisu we've ever eaten at any Italian restaurant. Great portion sizes, great prices and impeccable service.

Came here for breakfast, which is apparently a less popular time, but it was great. Coffee was good, fruit salad was a large bowl of five different fruits, yogurt was creamy and tangy, honey was very fragrant, and the pancake was earthy and also nicely tangy. I also got the chocolate cake which was really good. The lavender powdered sugar was unexpected but a surprisingly good pairing.

My family and I vacation (scuba divers) in Cozumel quite often. Usually at least twice per year if not more often. We have several favorite taquerias in town that we frequent for a more authentic experience, but we found ourselves looking for something more familiar, but different if that makes sense. Multiple friends, acquaintances , and those we have done business with have recommended Kooben Laab. The big challenge for me and Italian food is gluten in the pasta, so I messaged asking what they offered when it comes to gluten free. They make their own pasta, so there were no pasta options (there were items without pasta) but they offered to have a clean pot of boiling water waiting if i wanted to bring some pasta. After our dives, a quick trip to the Mega, and we were off. The whole family was thrilled with their dishes, and the boys both gobbled up se delicious looking deserts with extra gluten :-). Did I fail to mention the appetizer? A mexican cheese tray with vegetables and humus. We will visit for sure again!

This is my never miss go-to staple whenever I’m in Cozumel. This restaurant is absolutely amazing and I have never been disappointed. They make all their dishes from scratch daily and the love they put into the food preparation comes through to your taste buds. They pride themselves on preparing amazing Italian and seafood dishes that everyone can afford.

Been here twice in two days. A “farm to table” Italian restaurant. Ordered the shrimp and melon risotto, the gnudi (a ricotta version of gnocchi) with pesto sauce, and their ricotta ravioli with citrus sauce. All of the dishes were phenomenal. They also have fantastic fermented drinks that they make themselves and are some of the best I’ve ever had: kombucha and kefir.

Off the beaten path you will find a bakery with an amazing restaurant upstairs. A true Italian menu with added Mayan inspiration. I gave my server the permission to choose for me and I was not disappointed! Don't fear going off the tourist path and do your taste buds a favor. I highly recommend!

Excellent food and service. I will say however that I liked it much better when it was "undiscovered". If you'd like to go you better make reservations because it's been found now and it's quite popular.

The service & food were superb!! We will definitely be back during our 2wk stay in Cozumel to try more delicious homemade dishes! We made reservations (at other reviewers recommendations) the night before for 7:30pm tonite (Wedn 8/3) - they speak English so no issues making the reservation. You initially check-in downstairs then they tell you to go upstairs. Once upstairs they will seat you at your reserved tabled. It's very small upstairs (a handful of tables) so 💯 recommend a reservation! Be prepared for the heat tho bec there's no air conditioning nor fans. Also the 1 bartop table has super hard seating (wood) with barely a backrest so not recommended, maybe try to get 1 of the tables with a cushioned bench - will request that in my next reservation. We were on the fence about a bottle of red wine - they gave us a couple small shots/sipping samples. We ended up getting cocktails instead - whiskey sour & margarita.. and later a gin & tonic. The complementary bread seems to be a mixed variety of tomato, olive, cheese & plain focaccia with a subtle but delicious dip & olive oil on the side. Hubby & I shared: • Caprese - (highly recomm by the waiter) sooo good, very fresh! • Salsiccia Garganelli (1 of our waiter's fav dishes here) - it has a mild tomato sausage sause & was good Large easily shareable dishes. We were full so passed on desserts this time.

Service was very friendly! We went early so we had no wait time. The pasta was PHENOMENAL. We knew there would be a bread sampler but we didn’t know it would come with a delicious pumpkin seed pesto. We also enjoyed the mussels with homemade sourdough. And as if that wasn’t enough they make their own ginger beer and kombucha in house. All at very reasonable prices

Very Small but Cozy Restaurant. Everything made fresh and to order. Service was great making sure everything was to our liking each dish or drink that was brought out.

I ordered carbonara. I was alone in there and it took almost an hour to have my pasta. I had great expactation with the reviews. But the pasta were so sad…tasted really ordinary. It look way better than it tasted! I make it better at home myself. It a cute little place but I was really desapointed with my order.

LOVE. Reservation recommended. We went there twice during our one week trip in Cozumel because we loved it so much. It’s the kind of Italian food that energize you afterwards instead of leaving you tired and draggy…so it means excellent and authentic!! The pastas were so fresh and their home made sodas are tasty. The staffs are super friendly and nice. The atmosphere is lovely; super chill. The service might feel a bit slow but it’s part of the ambiance, why would you rush a beautiful evening with great food and great company. We will be back when we return to the island!

Authentic Italian food in Cozumel, Mexico! I was born and raised in Italy so I recognize genuine Italian food. We love the pasta a la Carbonara and the homemade bread. The pastry is to die for! You cannot leave the island without trying their fabulous Manitozzi sweet bread! Everything is fresh and prepared with love and care. K’ooben Laab is one of Cozumel’s best kept secret. Do not miss it.

Well…this was fun. Homemade pastas using Cozumel ingredients, local Cozumel draft beer, homemade fresh bread, coffees from all over Mexico and roasted at the top Mexican coffee roasters. We were in heaven. The service was absolutely superb. I could write a couple of paragraphs on this restaurant. A total must go on Cozumel.

WOW. A truly memorable dining experience. Every dish crafted to perfection with unique cultural takes on classic Italian dishes. So much food. Our group of four shared the small charcuterie and caprese salad, two medium salads and we all ordered different pastas—and left with enough for another meal or more. The ambiance is fantastic. Prices amazing. Service stellar.

We really love this restaurant I’d say it’s one of our favorite top three restaurants on the island.. it’s very special, and all the food is made with great care, and the services is exceptional. Pasta, sauces and breads and desserts, or exceptional and delicious at a price that is almost too good to be true

Hand made pasta, sauce made fresh every day, and great prices. You cannot get any better pasta outside of Italy!! Antonia is a very talented chef and an amazing person- the bread is to die for!

This restaurant was recommended by a local for nice Italian food. The small salad was actually quite big and filled with yummy veggies and a local honey mustard dressing. The carbonara was rich and flavorful. Nice atmosphere with a local flair.

Amazing!! Ate here twice it's SO GOOD and good price...you MUST call to reserve as they don't have many tables. (Or else there's always take away). Very much worth it!

This restaurant is small and unassuming. I recommend making reservations for dinner. The downstairs area is fairly crowded with people trying to check in, people trying to pay, take-out customers, and staff running back and forth to carry dishes upstairs. The staff is friendly, the pasta is homemade and was not over cooked, and the environment is relaxed. I had beet pasta which was actually really good. The vegetarian carbonara was overly salty though. I’d still go back and try more dishes.

Excellent little spot with really great service (Thank you Miguel!!) The burrata & pesto tortellini was divine! The pasta was soft, flavourful & even if it needed a touch of salt, it was the best I have had in sometime! The homemade bread was delicious and fresh! Fantastic Cerveseria Punta Sur beer on tap, nice choice of bottled beer and a few great choices for wine. My husband had the seafood pasta, it was garlicky and had nice clams, shrimp & mussels. He also had the salad- he did say it was a bit big, so he had wished for a smaller option, but it was delicious & colorful! The 3 for atmosphere isn't to detract from it, it was pretty & rustic and I liked being on the roof top, but the chairs were to low for the table. I felt like I needed a phone book to sit in 🤣🤣. We will 100% be back again and will be saving room for dessert!!

Delicious, fresh, and scrumptious pastas. Their large house salad is massive: great to share. Every pasta I’ve tried here has been marvelous! My wife and I have gone here every time we visit Cozumel and we’ll keep coming back.

👍 Excellent food, it seemed to be a place the locals liked to eat. We didn't see any other tourists until we were almost finished eating.
