A friend of mine needed a few stitches above her eye for a small accident that left a big gash. Her husband brought her to the notorious tourist trap “Hospiten” first where they quoted her 3800$ usd! After hearing they were at Hospiten, i told them to leave as fast as possible and head to the general hospital where i had heard all the locals go. Upon arrival at 1am, the whole check-in and triage process took less than 15 minutes and she was being stitched up by a surgeon almost right away after despite not speaking any spanish. (Thanks google translate!) The whole process took less than 30 minutes and cost 397$ pesos or about 20$ usd total. Don’t let the mexican aesthetic fool you, you’ll still receive professional care despite the facilities feeling more like a DMV than a hospital. The only “issue” was that they only accepted cash, but the cost being so low, it wasn’t a problem. I rarely leave reviews but i’m sure this will help many of you reading this especially during scary and stressful situations that make you look up hospitals on google in mexico!

Not modern, not very hygienic, almost like a third world country hospital, they obviously don't have the resources.
