I came with a severe infection, fractured molar, diseased gums, a million cavities, bad fillers, nerve tingling all over my right side, bleeding gums... my mouth was in such bad shape, I was getting sick every month (most likely from the infection and everything that was going on). I sat down in the chair in tears. I saw two dentists here in Playa del Carmen and one in Cancun and I was on 5 rounds of antibiotics and they did 6 (yes, 6) treatments on a fractured molar where it got even more fractured. I was in excruciating pain. I researched this clinic and all the doctors here. Even though they have great reviews, I hope anyone that can read this will appreciate the traumas I have been through and how sick I was feeling. Dr Esteban calmly explained what was going on and decided to go on this journey of healing, I knew I lost my molar and it needed to be extracted. I had a panic attack just before, he got a blanket for me and he was so gentle and calm and put me at ease. Molar was extracted, which followed 2 weeks of pain, infection and more antibiotics, I really thought I would never feel great ever again. But I did. After two weeks of no eating, I needed more work done... in a matter of a month, I had a tooth extraction, bone grafting, cleaning, one endodontic procedure, fillers... I wanted to wait a little before I wrote this review because today, I am smiling, I have zero pain, my gums are healthy again, I can smile and I am just so blessed and grateful for you guys! I look forward to continuing my journey (I want to get braces, fix more cavities, get an implant) and I finally feel I am in great hands. I can’t recommend you enough, thank you, thank you, thank you!

A word of warning to anyone getting a bridge done at Bocanova by the dentist and owner of this establishment in Playa del Carmen….DON’T DO IT!! My bridge broke twice! I returned the first time and of course, if you’re familiar with how Mexicans do business, they never admit fault to anything!! Dr Barragan, told me that I had a cavity they rat the place of the break to charge me more money, while replacing the bridge at no additional charge so I said, okay fine. The second time the bridge broke of course he blamed the manufacturer. Dr. Barragan placed a temporary bridge and asked me to give my gums some time to heal. Well, a week later the temporary bridge breaks before I had time to return for the second replacement! Dr. Barragan comes across as charming and very nice. But the entire time he’s worked on me he is very talkative with his assistant while he worked on me each time. Hell’s not a good dentist and I highly recommend you stay away from this clinic for any major dental work. The dental hygienist is very good at cleaning your teeth. I am now in the states and even though I am returning to Playa del Carmen in a week, I will not return to see Dr. Barragan. I will be getting my bridge repaired in the USA! I do not recommend Bokanova at all for any major dental work!! Money down the drain!!

had a lovely experience at Bokanova. came in for a cleaning and to replace a chipped amalgam filling with composite. after filling out a little bit of paperwork, i was seen right away. my dentist was very friendly and considerate. only cost MX$2000, which i consider incredibly cheap compared to my home city. i will certainly return for any future dental work needs.

Today I had a successful extraction of both wisdom teeth, Dr. Esteban performed an excellent surgery. For me it is essential to have a maxillofacial surgeon, I fully trust Dr. Estabans expertise, in addition to knowledge and experience, has all the necessary equipment in a beautiful clinic with very attentive staff in Playa del Carmen. 4 Years ago - I have has the good fortune of having Dr. Esteban and his team as my maxillofacial surgeon in Bokanova - Playa del Carmen. Bokanova is awesome . I had a crown put in effortlessly for the price that was fantastic and today I had a veneer done for my front chipped tooth. These guys are amazing. Bokanova has truly earned its excellent reputation. I needed extensive dental work, and was incredibly nervous about it. Dr. Gruber handled my four root canals expertly—between his skill and bedside manner, it was a painless and almost pleasant experience, as crazy as that sounds. Dr. Esteban is also great at calming down a difficult patient and he's an artist when it comes restoration. My root canal teeth look 100 percent natural. The dentists here are also conservative—they won't do anymore work than you need, and they save as much of your natural teeth as possible. Best decision I made was to go here for the work I was dreading. Thank you!

Dr. Esteban and his Staff are the most professional team I had the pleasure to be taken care of. Also what impressed me was how clean and modern the office is. But ofcourse most important is that my dental treatments , Implants and preparation for Implants was excellent. No pain no problems 10 month later. I had a great experience at Bokanova when I had a crown replaced last year. The staff was friendly and professional. The office has the latest technology so the process was painless. The charges were reasonable as well. I recommend them very highly.

I am very dissatisfied with the service I received at the Bokanova dental clinic. They charged me an exorbitant amount for a treatment that was ineffective and required an emergency surgery back in New York. The receptionist was very rude and dishonest as she purposefully misled me about the prices and demanded extra payment at the end. She denied ever informing me of the lower prices that were available. I strongly advise against visiting Bokanova clinic, just go to a more professional establishment.

Wonderful dentists, knowledgeable with the most up to date and modern technology and equipment. Multi lingual, compassionate and professional .We have been patients for over six years. Definitely worth the trip down to Playa del Carmen.

I’ve always had a great experience - from the hygienists to the dental surgeons. I’ve had everything from cleaning to root canals to crowns, and Invisalign services.
