I can only recommend Marcels Dive Shop! It’s German led but there are English and Spanish speaking dive instructors as well. I was diving with them for 3 days straight and that very short of notice- I contacted Marcel through his website and he made sure to get me a spot on the boat the next day. The first day was more of a “refresher” since I had been a year without diving and obviously they want to get an impression of the skills&confidence in the water, etc.. We went to a shallow-ish reef at 13m. The second day we went on a deeper drift dive at 30m and got lucky to see some sharks& turtles. And finally I did my first (and second) cenote dive with Alex and it was a treat! He made me feel safe (just like the other instructors as well!) and was strictly following the safety protocols after carefully explaining them to me during the briefing. Additionally he gave some interesting information about the cenotes! We were lucky to be the first ones in the water and got to enjoy a total of 100mins of dive time! All dive days were two tank dives with snacks/lunch between dives. The equipment is in very good condition and well serviced. Marcel was diving with us the first day and explained a bit about how he likes to avoid crowds when diving and he did a good job at it! I’ve been diving at many places around the world and this is a very good place to safely dive with. Obviously it’s mostly catered towards Germans/Swiss/Austrians so if that doesn’t scare you, as I stated above, the instructors are multilingual.

Absolutely great dive base! Super nice and so well organised! We felt very welcome and taken care of well - no mass processing. It was just 3 divers with one guide :) first class experience. We felt so comfortable with them we immediately booked another dive for the next day. One day cozumel and one day bullshark. Shark dives are without feeding - that's why we went with deepdiveexico. I can only recommend this dive base - if you are in playa del Carmen, go diving with them :)

Such an amazing dive center! Marcel was very attentive and helpful since the first time I contacted them. I went diving in cenotes Chikin Ha, Edén, Taj Maha, and Dos Ojos and it was one of the best diving experiences I’ve had. Emilio and David were amazing guides for my first ever cavern dives. Amazing Diving Center. Everything was impeccable, starting from the easy and attentive contact to schedule everything (I was quite challenging, I have to admit - again my apologies for that). I did an upgrade to Open Water Diver and felt super informed and safe all the time! Also went for a Cenote dive and to Cozumel afterwards and enjoyed every second of it. We had the pleasure to complete our open water diver course under the guidance of el jefe Marcel „Marcelski“ Taubert. Our diving trips were thoroughly organized with careful consideration of expected local crowdedness and weather conditions to ensure both, our safety and fun throughout the course. My girlfriend and me feel well prepared for any upcoming diving trips and we‘ll definitely book more experiences with Deep Dive Mexico whenever we‘re around Playa Del Carmen. Highly recommended!

We went diving for 5 days with deepdivemexico, including 4 days in cenotes and one day with bull sharks. We were picked up and dropped off at our accommodation punctually every day. Everything was well-organized with no hidden costs. There was food and water provided between dives. We had an excellent dive guide and a very small group. Everything was very relaxed, and we felt very comfortable. Keep it up, deepdivemexico!

I cannot speak highly enough of this company and this excursion. Marcel and all the team are an incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly, they made me feel safe and comfortable the entire time, everything about it was well planned and executed. Everything was perfect, great for a beginning dive and beyond my initial expectation for open water. I saw lots of fish and coral, but the highlight was probably the sting ray that swam right past us. I highly recommend! It was honestly one of the best and most memorable days of my life.

My scuba diver instructor in Germany recommended me "Deep Dive Mexico" and I am super happy that I followed his advice as it was awesome. Before going to Mexico I contacted Marcel and he helped me preparing my scuba dives with all his heart. Once I arrivded at the scuba diving school I got a warm welcome from everyone and in a second you already feel being a part of the group. My first two dives has been at Playa del Carmen where I did my "perfect buoyancy special" with Ata. He is a really great guy and I got to know a lot of new aspects and knowledge about diving. Worth every penny. In addition, I did the cenotes dives "Zapote" and "Maravilla" where Alex was my diving instructor. These cenotes are a one time life experience and I am grateful that I saw them. I had a great time with Alex, he is a funny guy and a real pro. He guided me all along in most perfect way and I felt maximal safe all the time. One day I will return to you guys to see the pregnant bull shark ladies :) Simon

Both, my boyfriend an me successfully completed the course here. Ata and Alessia were great instructors and I truly recommend guided tours by Deep Dive. The guides are knowledgeable and ready to help whenever necessary. We're looking forward for our next vacation here.

Don’t be discouraged that’s it’s mainly German speakers. I’m from the UK and these guys were amazing! The refresher course was simple clear and concise and everyone was so friendly. I have to thank everyone that was part of the dives and I had a wonderful friendly experience

Hello guys, I successfully completed my scuba dive open water diver a few days ago. I had a lot of fun doing the exercises for the open water diver (it can only be recommended), and my instructor Ata was very nice and accommodating. This week we did two Cenote dives (El Eden and Tajma Ha) with Deep Dive Mexico. The dive shop is a little hidden but once you find it it has a nice mediterranen flair. We selected our equipment - which was in top shape and looked brand new - the day before our dive to be ready to start early in the morning. Our dive guide, Alex, was amazing. He picked us up at 8am sharp to ensure we were the first divers in El Eden, which was truly awesome since we had a completely empty Cenote with crystal clear water and with the head start we also managed to be the first divers for the second Cenote! This being the first cave dive for us it was especially great that Alex explained all important features of the dives really well and made us feel comfortable heading in the dark abyss ;-) Thanks for the great dives, Alex! P.S.: Alex also recommended an amazing fish restaurant (El Pirata), so on the way back from the dive make sure to ask him for his favorite places to eat ;-)

I just finished my Deep Dive Course and absolutely loved it! The whole team is great and Ata was the most knowledgeable and funniest instructor! They know exactly what they do & give you a super safe feeling. Small groups, great organisation, they take lots of time and you’ll have the most fun enjoying the ocean! I learned a lot and after the course I feel super confident to go diving in other places and of course come back to Playa del Carmen :) Thanks for everything & see you soon!
