This place was awesome. There is a very cool vibe. They actually have an indoor pond with large fish and medium size turtles. The cost of the food is fairly priced and the portions are a good amount. I really appreciated seeing that they care for their employees by feeding them after their work shift. They also sat in the dinning area eating as a group. The manager said that they are "family"! If you take care of the employees your employees will take care of you. I highly recommend this restaurant. Oh yeah, the food was really good too!

Came here for a late lunch. I order the stuffed pepper- stuffed with cheese, which was nice but i didnt like the batter that covered it- was able to peel this off though. The boyfriend had a chicken soup and chicken salad which he thoroughly enjoyed! Staff were polite and friendly. The restaurants setting is nice like you're in the jungle!

the food was phenomenal. We had vegan food and they have a whole vegan and vegetarian menu, including soups, starters, desserts and real mexican food. This will be the gastronomic experience of your life from the beginning until the end, especially if you enjoy clean vegan eating. I highly recommend you. Funny story, there's really a monkey there, free and enjoying the wild.

Amazing atmosphere and kind staff. We came here several times during our trip, try the spicy margaritas! The guacamole was great, some of the food we order could have been more flavorful in our opinion.

Had a great meal here for lunch. It was t on the menu, but it is a seasonal special called Chile en Nogada. It was fantastic. It is a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with a flavorful beef stew with peas and spices. Then covered in a walnut cream sauce and then topped with pomegranate seeds and parsley. It was fantastic. The service was great and attentive. This place is always busy especially for brunch and lunch. So expect a small wait but it seems to move fast. The restaurant is set amongst large trees which give some shade and there are a lot of fans which help the heat. Highly recommended.

Excellent breakfasts and lunches. The soups at lunch are great! The garden tables are really nice. The locals eat here. The prices are very affordable. There may be a wait at late morning, early lunch. This is a very popular place and for good reason. Don't pass this one up if you are in Playa!

Very good brunch. Service was infinitely helpful and very willing to make substitutions or additions. The guacamole was excellent. Chilaquiles were quite good with a mild red sauce, plenty of chicken, and perfectly spicy green habanero on top. If you sit in the back area, the surroundings are stunning.

Excellent place to enjoy great food. The portions are more than enough that sometimes you don't have space for dessert. The service is unique as they give you options and recommendations for the food and people is very nice.

Stunning, long-standing restaurant that was here before all the cement. It is very charming and the food is good. We came on a Sunday and it was packed with lineups all morning. Wonderful place!

We went to have breakfast to la Cueva del Chango. The Food was delicious! We spent around $15 dollars per person for good food. The waitress was very friendly. I'll definitely come back for more.

I really enjoyed visiting this restaurant, it was such a fun, refreshing and delicious place! We ordered enchiladas, molletes and chilaquiles, everything was perfect, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere to be with friends and family! It has few parking spaces but it’s also possible to park around the corner.

We tried to go in here for breakfast always packed. On my husbands last day we went for dinner. Service is great and very attentive. Our dinners were delicious but I had food envy with every neighboring table too. So I will have to go back. With the kitchen in the center open air you can smell all the wonderful creations. They have an amazing vegetarian menu.

Absolutely fantastic! You feel like you're secluded away from the world in an amazing jungle setting with the sound of running water from the fountains throughout the dining areas. Their juices are top notch, and their chilaquiles and omelets... perfect. We weren't on the reservation list, and we were still seated within about 20 minutes. Definitely worth the wait!

A lovely restaurant with a beautiful jungle setting . We had breakfast here and were served straight away. Sometimes there can be a wait for a table, so we were lucky. The service is excellent . The Mexican food menu was extensive and reasonably priced. We got chiliquilies which were great. It should be noted that, uniquely, you can ask for a half portion for around half the price and is still sufficient. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was great. In our week stay this was by far the best meal and experience we had. I'm not vegan but really enjoyed the cactus and mushroom enchiladas with mole sauce. The sesame tuna was also amazing. Wish we discovered it at the start of the trip we would have eaten there daily!

One of the best restaurants in playa del Carmen. Unique food options here that you won’t find other places, and the atmosphere is unmatched. Such a gem in a city full of mediocre restaurants, this one stands out significantly. Do yourself a favor and try it. The Torta De Atún and the Chilaquiles are absolutely ridiculous.

We loved this place so much we ate here two times over our vacation. The jungle type atmosphere is romantic and very gorgeous. There’s even a little stream running through the middle of the restaurant! The guacamole is super delicious and they had the only APA beer I found in Playa, which was refreshing.

Good ambience and good and generous food! I tried chile relleno and it was really well done and delicious. The salsas were verg tasty, the red habanero sauce was pretty hot and lovely! They have an extensive vegan menus too!

The place is nice, the food is good and the waiter was pleasant. However the lady at the till where you pay was rude. Therefore the 3 star rating. When we were there it rained torrential rain and the rain coverage was not sufficient and we were all wet.

We stopped here for lunch. This is my second time here and the restaurant is always busy with both tourists and locals because the food is so good, and the prices are reasonable. It is a jungle / garden like setting, and can get quite warm inside, but they have set up a lot of fans to help circulate the air. There are so many choices for everyone including vegetarians and vegans. We also had the best homemade carrot cake to munch on while we looked over the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Playmeite here with a review for La Cueva del Chango 😍💜 This isn’t a fully vegan restaurant but there’s many great options! I couldn’t eat too much but I got the tostadas with mushrooms and sprouts and some chickpea soup. They had this juice of the day with guava and watermelon pineapple etc. it was sooooo good. Loved the service and people amazing. The bread is FRESH 😍💜 and sooo good also. They brought out sauces and all the great things to give my food an extra kick. The people were sooo nice here and loved that the seating is outdoors etc. I’m also so happy to have found this place as it was perfect for an evening alone here at the Playa. 💕 I would give this place a 5 any day. Enjoy the photos and my happy dance from the tostada 😂😂😂

The food is absolutely incredible. The cactus and mushroom enchiladas are fantastic. The flavour can be appreciated by vegans and carnivores alike. The service is top notch as is the flan cheesecake. Every dish that was served at our table was uniquely delicious.

We had an excellent meal here! Tons of vegan and veggie options on the menu, and the cocktails were tasty. The outside seating area is deceptively huge - it may appear small from the outside, but it seats lots of diners! Service was friendly and the menu features some really interesting options beyond the typical Mexican fare. Highly recommended.

Visited on a Mon night & the ambiance with the hanging lights & jungle feel is super chill & relaxing. Wear bug spray if your prone to mosquito bites. It’s located on a tree lined strip with a few other restaurants & with quick access to the 5th St walking area. We were seated quickly & the wait staff were pleasant & efficient. We ordered a couple of freshly made juices; ginger passion fruit & guava as well as a mango papaya. Neither had sugar when they arrived at our table so we sent it back so sweetner could be added. The guacamole & chips were the best we’ve had in playa del Carmen. For the main course we ordered chicken enchiladas with mole sauce, the mahi mahi with mole sauce & a side of sweet plantains. I’m a huge fan of enchiladas with mole sauce but sadly these had no flavor. Both the chicken & the sauce were very bland. & The black beans on the side were salty. The fish had better flavoring but still nothing incredible. The meal was definitely disappointing. Would only return for their (sweetened) juices & guacamole. But since every palette is different, I encourage you to give it a try!

Delicious authentic food, great ambience, natural decor and great service. We sat outside and it was nice, not too hot as they have fans all throughout their patio. Our server was very patient and was nice to recommend his favorite dishes. we were very pleased with the food and its presentation. This place is a must in this area. I ordered the Omelet with Chaya which was fantastic and the molletes which I enjoyed very much.

The food was good but the highlight for us was the ambience and the setting of this restaurant. Never been to a restaurant like this before and loved everything about the setting of it. We had chicken sandwich, shrimp tacos and quesadillas for the kids. Everything was good.

Nice location. Food was fine, especially the first dish (taco's). Stuffed chicken was also nice, never had something like that before. Look out for the caramel dessert: Goat cheese flavor is very noticable

Great ambience. The mango margarita was excellent, food was pretty good, but loved the ambience. Be sure to sit in the garden area. We had the chicken enchiladas which we should have asked for with baked cheese, and the mahi mahi with the cream sauce. Staff were friendly and the place was packed with guests. We also tried a local beer from a brewery pub down the street (but sold at the restaurant). Highly recommend trying this beer. Excellent!
