Paradisus earned 5 stars for sure. The staff and facility was amazing. The food was top notch everywhere we ate. We tried 5 or 6 of the restaurants while we stayed. All them were amazing. I will say the deserts could use improvements but the meals left nothing to complain about. The room was spacious and the balcony had excellent views of the pools in the room we were in. The bottom floor had it so the back porch would walk straight into the pool. If I stay again I will for sure be requesting that style of room. I recommend the pool side grill for light and easy lunches. Their fish tacos were our favorite. Getting into town was easy enough by having the hotel call you a cab. Make sure they confirm the price for you before driving off. We have several taxi drivers try to inflate the pricing until the hotel corrected them. We learned quickly what the correct going rates were and avoided being overcharged several times. Their beach access was also a favorite for us. The beach was super clean and maintained. We had servers offering us food and drink often; and they were pretty fast! There was always an umbrella and chair available within a reasonable amount of time. We did have one complaint and that was one of the elevators went out of service (the one by our room) after a big rain storm. It was out for 3 days so we had to walk a lot further and take the stairs more - which was probably not a bad thing after indulging on so many tacos this week. That one complaint - still earned 5 stars from me though. I absolutely loved the Paradisus!

We just came back from a 7 day stay at Paradisus. I never write lengthy reviews. Definitely not negative ones. But this holiday stay was so exceptionally terrible that I feel like I have to alert future guests. We travel to Mexico and DR at least X2 a year, always to all-inclusive resorts (usually club med). So I have some benchmark. This was my first stay at Paradisus hotel. I would say that at least 30% of my week's stay was spent stressing over and requesting services which are literally a given at any other resort. It felt like the hunger games instead of a vacation. Here are a few examples: * no free chairs at the pool (unless you go downstairs at 6am each morning, which we eventually had to do so we could secure a chair); * no room at ANY of the 5 (!) restaurants for the ENTIRE DURATION OF OUR STAY (unless willing to go at 9:30pm which with 3 kids and a 7 month old baby isn't really practical. It took many negotiations to get earlier spots which are all pre-reserved for members (who don't show up; restaurants were half empty). Otherwise it would have been buffet all week. Why advertise you have 5 restaurants and not let people know how difficult it is to actually dine there if you are not a member?); * no room at the kids club (again, unless you are there 15 minutes before they open at 9am, and they never actually opened at 9am so in reality my husband had to stand in line for at least 25 minutes every morning to secure a service which we actually paid for. Oh and they don't serve food so you have to pick up for lunch. When we tried in the afternoon to drop off the kids again, the club was at capacity); * no turnover service in the morning (I wish I was making this up). One day our room wasn't cleaned until 5pm we had to call 2 times and beg them to come. Then we got 2 new towels (for our family of 5). Ridiculous. If you are busy during the holidays hire more staff or don't allow guests to book. You can't have guests and not service them. For the finale, we booked our stay directly through the site as they promised to include transportation from/to the airport. They never told us when the pick up time is. On the night before our last day I asked and was told the pick up was at 2:30 for a 7pm flight. I said I think that's too early, can we do 3:30pm as we already agreed for late check out (3pm) and I wouldn't need to interrupt my kids' nap. This still left us plenty of time even considering traffic. After much back and forth (because they wanted to pick up more people?) the hotel confirmed 3:30, private car service, for the pickup on the night before our flight back. At 3pm on our last day I went to the shuttle stand and confirmed, again, the pick up at 3:30. My family of 5 was ready and waiting at the lobby at 3:15pm. However, the car didn't arrive at 3:30pm. Not at 4pm either. It wasn't until 4:10pm that the car showed up. When I complained about the delay (40 minutes total for a PRIVATE car service is insane) the shuttle company brushed me off (I mean things happen, but at least apologize..) and guest services at the hotel had the audacity to tell me: "This is your fault, we told you 2:30pm is better". I mean, yes, if I had known you'd be 40 minutes late of course I would have scheduled an earlier pick up time, but shame on me for thinking a private ride would actually come on time. Thankfully we did not miss our flight but we were very close to, and had to rush through check in with 3 small kids and the unpleasant feeling that once paid, this hotel cares very little about the relaxation and enjoyment of its guests. I'm incredibly disappointed.

Beautiful all inclusive hotel! We were greeted with cold lavender scents towels upon our arrival and were quickly checked in. The pool area restaurant had a short menu of options and the serving sizes were small. There were several restaurants to choose from with authentic menu choices. We ate at Mole, which was delightful. The main dishes were just protein and not much else. We had most of our meals at the buffet, which had a lot of options! The food was very fresh and always delicious. The pools were very clean, the grounds were well kept and the waiters always made sure you had a fresh drink. ALL of the staff greeted you each time the saw you and were very pleasant.

Capella was the best restaurant at the resort. We enjoyed it so much we came 3 times. The food and atmosphere were great. They were knowledgeable about the ingredients, which is helpful with a nut allergy. Our favorite part of the trip was the service. Gerardo was our waiter each time. There are no words to describe how kind and welcoming he was to us. Our last night he made us a special dessert to send us off.

Don't come expecting great service. The resort is beautiful and they really could take it to the next level. The rooms are nice and there are plenty of places to eat and just enough activities. We don't feel like we have to wait in many lines and while most of the staff are quite friendly, service is not their strong suit. Often times the answers to questions is "I don't know" or just lack of understanding. We came because of the kids club, but they have lots of rules that make no sense. None of the staff that we've experienced at the kids club seems to want to be there, and one specifically is super anxious and kept calling our friend when their baby looked he was going to cry. I ordered room service and after an hour of not arriving I called and they said that they brought it but I didn't answer the door. I've been sitting with my kids in my room waiting the whole time. Instead of simply apologizing and saying they'll send it back up, they said "we'll talk to our supervisor to see if we can make it again". Too bad we had dinner reservations for the adults that we'll have to miss. The food is pretty good, especially for an all - inclusive resort. The drinks are as well and they have surprisingly good coffee. Susana at the dinner reservation table is great if you need assistance.

Here’s what I think about the market! Super good food and service, if it was in my neighborhood it would be a tradition to go there every week! I will recommend the hotel and restaurant to all my friends and family. New favorite restaurant, and the waiters were awesome. Give a round of applause for Miguel and Jose! They were our waiters and were super nice and calm! Love it so much! The hotel in general is great, but maybe a paper map to start off where my room is because it took time to look for my room. The area is great! The beach was clean and blue. Normally I would have a complain but it was so great that I don’t have any! All of the workers are great English and Spanish speakers. If I could give it 1-INFINITE stars infinite would be the answer! This is the greatest hotel in Cancun!

This place is phenomenal. Our second year back here and they give us every reason to keep coming back. The food is amazing at all restaurants. The service is outstanding and all the waiters do a great job. I'll have to recognize Moises at the Mole Mexican restaurant. He really took great care of us. His table side manners are unmatched. I'm sure they rotate at all restaurants but if we could have Moises assist us every night for dinner, we would love to have him. Cannot say enough about this place. A tie all inclusive with great quality and service.

The waitresses were amazing and provided an excellent service, everywhere we went. Leandro from Mole restaurant provided exceptional service, and recommended the best food options available for me and my family. Nancy and Darlene from La Perla side, were our best companion every night and made us the best drinks we had in our entire stay. They both deserve to be promoted accordingly. Unfortunately, I cannot rate the overall experience as great because we experienced a theft. It was immediately reported to the Guest Services and Security and their sense of urgency prevented us from recovering the device. The communication was horrible and they wouldn't provide any update or further info unless we requested it several times. Today is our last day and no status update has been provided whatsoever. Expect great service from waitresses and bar tenders but honestly, don't expect much response from the management or the rest of the staff u less they are trying to sell you something.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and it was just gorgeous. We had an excellent stay and were given some special add-ons due to it being our honeymoon. Our concierge, Alfonso, was a great person to have check in on us during our stay. He made sure to help us with anything we needed and made us feel important. We also enjoyed the Reserve package. The Reserve for adults made the experience 10x better, especially because we were able to interact with Luis! He was so fun and kind to us while we relaxed by the pool. The food was delicious, the resort was clean and beautiful, and the pool was amazing!

We loved our stay, great resort, great service and staff! Our favorite restaurant was Bana Family, the service was top notch, Felix was especially great. Make sure you take care of the restaurant reservations ASAP!! if you don't, it could ruin your culinary experience.. Thanks to all the staff

We stayed at Paradisus for our anniversary and our experience was amazing! We stayed at the adults only portion of the resort. Super nice to enjoy the peace and quiet and not worry about children being loud around us. Our suite was very clean and luxurious. The tub, shower, and patio jacuzzi were relaxing to use. We had a big king size bed that was very comfortable. We took advantage of the mini bar and room service. The food was great. All of the staff were super helpful and friendly. Overall this resort is great for a couple that is looking for relaxation and a quiet atmosphere. If you’re looking to party, this might not be the place. I cried when we had to leave and come back home.

First, I would like to start by giving a recognition to our assigned concierge Adrian Bosquez for going above and beyond in helping us throughout our stay. He was on top of every activity in the hotel , organized kids amenities and games in the room which my kids really loved. I have no words to describe how professional and attentive Adrian was. We had a great stay, one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Housekeeping staff and management impressed me a lot… the level of cleanliness was extraordinary, out of this world. We went to almost all the restaurants but we found the shinning star at Agua Marina: the server Eleazar/Erik was excellent, very knowledgeable about the restaurant menu and recommend great options for us and the kids. He was outstanding, professional, friendly. We really had a great stay at Paradisus Playa del Carmen. We will go back soon…

Our check-in was smooth and we are grateful to Carlos for introducing us to the resort and booking our initial dinner reservations. Andrea at Guest Services was so helpful and responsive with our request re: air conditioning and TV issues. They took small concerns to heart and worked to make it right. The grounds are beautiful - super clean and tidy, ample chairs and Bali beds.

We absolutely LOVED our stay. I traveled with my husband and my 3 children (8-3-2yo) who have multiple food allergies. The staff was AMAZING accommodating their needs, they cooked for them as needed. The staff was just splendid, very detailed oriented. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The amount of activity for children was a plus! They enjoyed the activities, the pools, the kids waterpark and the beach. The food was simply GREAT. We will be back often. 1000% recommended

Not recommended at all. It is an average 4 star resort. Family section has terrible food quality and taste, especially the buffet. The adult-only section has better overall food quality/service but still expect an average 4 star resort service. We got one of the large private rooms which was nice but the price we paid for it was equal to a 5 star resort and the hotel is not even close to that. Given that you spent most of your time in the common area and restaurants/bars/pools rather than your room, the resort (especially the large or swim-up rooms) does NOT worth it at all. Overall, we did not like the resort, food and service and do not recommend this resort at all.

This is our second time staying at the Paradisus. This time we brought my son who has celiac, the staff were so so great trying to help us find him gluten free options but the overall resort didn't have many options for him. Honestly the staff made the trip great, we had one waiter at the Lunch Box that was exceptional. He supported us and went above and beyond trying to help my son have great food options. He treated us so well, we actually went to the pool to have lunch every single day. His name is Alejandro. Both my children and husband said, he was such a blessing to have met and made our trip so much better!

Our stay was fantastic. Adriana y Esperanza are outstanding (Flora Restaurant). The service on the beach with Reina was outstanding too. Also, special thanks to Raul, our concierge who was fantastic. We are coming back for sure. Thank you for everything.

This resort was amazing! We absolutely loved every aspect of it. Diego at the restaurant Flora made our trip even better! He was welcoming and personable. We enjoyed getting to know him.

We had high expectations given the ‘5 Star Hotel’ and price of the stay. We were super disappointed overall. The pool areas were not clean and a short amount the lounge chairs, the staff seemed overwhelmed or unhappy to be there. BUT most of all the food quality was terrible! Buffet style restaurants were limited in variety, and often appeared unappetizing. The a la carte restaurants were not that much better. In summary, the beach was nice, average amenities inc. Kids Club and Spa, and mediocre food and drink options.

Highly recommend! this place is fun! there are 2 sides, an adults only and then the family side.. our group of 8 adults stayed in the family side and it was fine exact same amenities as the adult side just with kids. My only suggestion is a better orientation to the resort, we arrived late at night and wasn't given to much info and so it was a bit trial by error. the color of your wrist band indicates area's you are and are not allowed to be in, also no one explained any of the restaurant's and that you need to book them QUICK.. lessons learnt for next time but still a VERY enjoyable stay

My family and I had a great time on our second visit to this resort. We opted for the swim up room suite and it was incredible. Overall great service during our stay and any minor issues we had were taken care of immediately. Special shout out to our server, Alejandro Surabia, who was everywhere! He took care of us both at our swim up and all other pools we enjoyed on the family side of the resort. He should be promoted for his efforts! Thank you sir!

Pros: The property is beautiful and exceptionally clean! The ambience is everything! The decor is beautiful and updated. Very bohemian. The rooms were spacious with comfy beds and stocked mini bar. The snacks in the room were delicious and room service was timely with decent options. The hostesses and waiters in the buffets and restaurants gave excellent service. The waiters in the Hadar buffet were amazing every morning for breakfast. They remembered our names and were always friendly. The young lady who worked at the gym was very friendly as well! We did a pole dance class and the instructor was so fun to work with. The music at the red lounge had variety which I definitely appreciated! The pools were lively with great music and poolside service. The music and aromatherapy throughout the resort was consistently pleasant. Everywhere we walked we received smiles and friendly greetings. Cons: Housekeeping kept the rooms clean however there was food and cups left outside of our room for 2 days which attracted animals. The food was not the best but that is to be expected at an all inclusive resort. I’ve had better at other resorts. The young lady responsible for booking dining reservations had a HORRIBLE attitude. She was not helpful at all and the experience was so bad that I had to go and speak with a manager Eduardo who promised to follow up with me on the issue. He never did. I even reached out to him a second time with no response. The bartender “Karina” at the bar outside of the Hadar grill chatted with a couple for about 10 min before even acknowledging me to get a drink. She was rude and dismissive. This is the first time that I have experienced multiple rude employees at an all inclusive resort and no assistance from management. Gina at the front desk was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and very accommodating. She was patient and very kind. We had the best interactions with her during check in/ check out and dealing with any issues. Carlos with guest services (timeshare presentations) was very nice and friendly everyday! The Hibachi grill chefs were very entertaining!

The service here is amazing. The staff is very attentive. The room on the family side needs some updating. Had two rooms, one was in better condition than the other. The food here is absolutely delicious. Did I mention that the service here is amazing? Because it is! The resort is great but just outside the place is a bit sketchy.

The property is beautiful. Rooms are clean and nice. The staff is hit or miss. The property relies too much on “the app” for information and the app doesn’t really work. By the third day we finally hit our groove Had a nice meal in Blue Agave. Rayna, Juan and Ivan provided great service. Food and drinks were good.

This was our second time at Paradisus Esmeralda and it has been absolutely wonderful again. Eva at the breakfast buffet is so friendly and joyful. The Hibachi grill is a must the kids and adults both loved it. Alejandro at Capella was fantastic as was the food definitely our favorite restaurant out of all of them. Hector is great and we loved playing beach volleyball daily with him and the other guest. We will definitely be back!

We celebrated my wife’s birthday and our last night in Playa del Carmen. Everything absolutely was fantastic. Our server Mario was excellent. He was very attentive and fast but not overbearing. The food arrived promptly and it looked and tasted wonderful. Overall, we really enjoyed everything but the great attention to details was amazing from an all inclusive busy restaurant.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen is a great place to have a fun, relaxing time. They have an entertainment team that is in charge of activities / events throughout the hotel on a rainy basis and they are a wonderful experience! The restaurants have different kinds of food, snacks areas and bar. There are sections for adults and families. It’s a huge resort with a private beach. Wherever you are the hotel team is pleased to attend you. Great customer service and super helpful with any questions you have. In the room there is a bottle of water to brush you teeth which is great since the water there is not recommended to drink they provide the water. I strongly recommend it for the whole family or just yourself 😀

The service was excellent and amazing! I can not tell you how impressed I have been at our stay here with this hotel. Our severs and waitress/ waiters were amazing! Anything we needed or wanted they were up to go and find out or get it somehow. The service was outstanding and I can honestly say there isn’t one person that I havent met here that doesn’t feel the same way. We will be regulars here at the Paradisus. Mole restaurant was amazing! The food and hotel experiences were 5 star all across the board. Don’t hesitate to come here over any other hotel. This is the one you want. We will be making this our annually vacation. Thank you for all your hospitality to the hotel and staff. It was breathtaking and what an amazing experience.

First- the service. Just excellent. We stayed at the Paradisus for 12 (!) days, and the service was amazing from the moment the taxi dropped us off, thru the employees, the Buffet was generous and good, the staff at the buffet and actually anywhere in the resort was not less than AMAZING! The resort is enjoyable in every aspect- the pools, bars, kids activities, nice shows, everything was clean. Just a pleasure from start to end! The only recommendation I have is to change the glass bottles and drinking glasses since I was worried my kids will break something every minute.. but I assume it’s for recycling reasons so I definitely understand and support. All in all- Amazing resort, thank you all so much for an amazing vacation!!!

Our dinner at Capella was outstanding! We really enjoyed all our food and drinks. Our server, Alejandro, was very attentive, friendly, and thoughtful! He was quick to take orders and refill drinks. He even brought a special dessert because he knew it was our last night at the resort. We had a wonderful time here!

Went here on our honeymoon. Our concierge Julie was great with assisting with meal reservations and answering any and all questions we had about the resort and local excursions. Daniel and Alfredo at the pool were very attentive and kind. All restaurants had great food and great drinks. The staff were all kind and welcoming and made us feel like family. Definitely coming back one day!

This was an incredible dinner. We had dinner at various restaurants including Mole, the Mexican Contemporary. With the beautiful women singing traditional songs, the amazing drinks , tasteful appetizers, and a 24 hour cooked pork loin that melted in our mouth, we ate in bliss. Dessert was so yummy that we ended up ordering seconds. Ivan our server made sure our drinks were never empty, that we never had an empty plate on the table, and delivered such speedy service. 13/10 would definitely eat here again! In addition to this, we ended up staying most of our time on the beach with beyond excellent service from Manuel. He made our stay go completely over the top. Lastly, Carlos the sommelier provided us an experience that we have never had the pleasure of partaking. We had a private wine tasting to taste some of Mexico's finest wines with a cheeseboard to pair. Our group had several different tastes prior to this but extremely enjoyed every single one of the drinks. Afterward, he went above and beyond to make our last night memorable by booking us the private room at the Peruvian restaurant for our group to have some time together. I cannot quite remember the name of the server who waited on us on Sunday evening but he was incredible.
