DO NOT LISTEN TO 5 STAR REVIEWS!!!! They are FAKE! I am a world traveler & I have been to many resorts but this is hands down the absolute worst! The food is disgusting like hardly could handle it. Everything is FAKE! From far away it looks good but then you get up close and everything is to trick the eye…or your wallet. The drinks are awful & they pretend to use brand name liquor but if you look behind the bar it’s all the cheapest. The wine tastes like pure vinegar! The pool is hot. The beach sucks. But the real kicker was the mattress or whatever that lumpy crooked thing was. I couldn’t sleep for 2 nights out of my vacation because I couldn’t get comfortable! And I’m an active middle aged woman so I can’t imagine if you have back problems. The gift shops were way overpriced. The room was hot & the mini fridge wasn’t cold. I normally don’t write reviews but I had to warn people! I read all the 5 star reviews & then after we booked it I went to look again because something was off. Yup the 1star reviews are there but they have so many fake ones that you don’t see the genuine reviews. The people that own this resort are all about scamming people and that’s just sad. Spend a little more & you wouldn’t have to pay for reviews! Stay away!!!!

Avoid this place if you care at all about quality and taste of food. The food was absolutely horrible. We had only one decent meal and even that was mediocre at best. Though we upgraded to “privilege” section the only benefit was nice ocean view and butler service. Our butler was very nice and accommodating but many things out of his control. The room was always hot, we asked daily for repair. Temp would not get below 23-24C at night. For the extra cost I expect the temperature to be at least comfortable (I don’t expect to be as cool as we are at home). Overall the resort was nice, plenty of pools but a VERY small beach area. It’s a huge place with long walks to the different areas. If you want an ocean view be prepared to pay extra and if you like the beach this may not be the place for you.

The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. They’re clean and well kept. There’s a lot of wildlife on the resort, though we were disappointed to not see any monkeys. The drinks were great and not as watered down as they are at other all inclusive resorts. Our room was very nice, we chose the swim up suites in Eden. There is always something going on at the pool, and the swim-up bar had wonderful bartenders that were incredibly attentive. The food is not the best, but it’s not horrible either. It can be a bit hard to get a reservation at one of the nicer restaurants on the resort and the process of how to make that reservation is not made clear at check in. We had to try for four days before getting one, so we mainly ate at the buffet. The beach is very very small, but it’s clean and a beautiful view. We didn’t see any seaweed, which was a pleasant surprise given the time of year. All of the staff were friendly and helpful! My only staff complaint is that they enter your room at any hour of the night. We had ordered room service and fell asleep shortly after eating. A staff member just came into our room while we were sleeping to get a plate, around 11 pm. The next day while we were changing to get ready to go to the pool, one barged in accusing us of still having a plate in the room. I complained to management, but they just said this is standard to keep the rooms clean and my fault if I don’t put out the “do not disturb” sign. Other than that, it was a good experience and we would stay here again!

This place is horrible stay away.************ Stay clear or this place!!!!!! The wild animals alone is enough to drive you crazy/ not the mention the air conditioner didn’t work rooms smelled like funk and mildew and the water didn’t get hot the front desk could car less. The food was horrible and there was no air conditioning in any of the restaurants so needles to say you need several showers throughout the day. We stayed in swim up rooms had to be moved 2 times still no air and the smells was horrible. It’s really sad how this resorts did nothing to try to accommodate us. Worst trip I’ve ever been on! Please don’t be fooled by the photos! Spend your money some place else. Not to mention staff not the concierge cared about the visitors and their needs.

Our stay was okay, had the hotel been better managed I would rate the hotel better. Upon arrival, check-in took nearly two hours. Bus boys lost our luggage, took an hour to bring them to our room. The floor of our room was dirty upon arrival. I had to find a cleaning lady in the hall way to come wash our floor. Never mind calling guest service or front desk... no one ever answers. I had to find our cleaning lady and ask for the appropriate amount of towels 3 days in a row but she never came back to bring them to us.. so we had to go search for room towels on our own. The hotel has a sign in the bathroom that says to leave the towels you wish to reuse on the towel rack... But that doesn't matter because she took our towels anyways but didn't replace them. I ended up leaving a note saying we won't be leaving anymore tip if she can't replace the towels she takes away from the drying rack. The food was pretty good. Route 66 great, Italian great, Japanese great.. Buffet breakfast lacked options. The cook doing the eggs always under cooked them. For us the steakhouse was the most disappointing. I asked for medium, received blue.. Waited forever before the waiter came by.. they burnt my kids chicken fingers.. The ''management team'' needs to find new supervisors because the floor workers are doing as best they can without help. Even as guests we can tell that the place lacks management... Such a beautiful hotel and yet all these comments are so sad to read. I was going to give this a 3 out 5 until we found cockroach in our room so it went down to 2.

Our first time here, and we loved it!! It's clean, the staff are friendly and always smiling. Antonio, the head butler, was simply the best. He was always quick to respond to my messages, always made sure to go out of his way to speak to us. Getting our reservations in the restaurants was easy with him. Melanie, the privilege pool concierge, was absolutely hands down the most amazing person ever. She was wonderful to talk to every day and made sure we were having a great time. She is fantastic at her job, so friendly and welcoming. Thank you for our daily chats! At the El Beso pool, Guillermo was great, always watching to see when we needed the next drink and so friendly. He never skipped a beat to make sure we had a drink and food from the poolside restaurant. At the beach, Rosa made sure the privilege section ran smoothly and she worked so hard. She was very friendly and she keeps an eye on chairs for when we first got to the section the chairs were all gone except for the little wooden ones but as soon as two came available she had us moved in no time. Irene at the lobby bar was fantastic. She also took great care of us. She was fun to chat with, and once she knew what we were drinking, we never had to tell her again. When it comes to the food we only had one complaint and that was at the Steak House, I do not recommend eating there, it was the worst steaks we've ever had and they really try to push you to buy a bottle of wine and when you don't the waitress was not that friendly. Blue Moon and Route 66 were fantastic to eat at, and room service was quick and good. We definitely recommend going privilege for ease and comfort. It's also a very accessible hotel. The beach was great, the sand was very soft and not rocky at all. We look forward to returning next year.

Unheard, under serviced and unsatisfied are my exact feelings after checking in to the Ocean Rivera Paradise resort. I found this resort through vacation express a travel agency which my family has used for many years and they have never disappointed in the resorts and locations available. Upon arrival to the Ocean Rivera Resort we were greeted by warm and inviting bell boys who took our luggage and directed my family of 6 to the front desk to check in. We arrived at 10:00am and were told our 2 rooms would not be available until after 3pm which was their check in time. We reserved 2 ocean view rooms in the Eden Junior suite section, which were requested to be conjoining rooms due to the fact that we were traveling with a 8 month old baby, two 8 year old twins and my elderly mother who it was in fact her very first time leaving the country for travel. After waiting five hours in the lobby with a crying baby, anxious twins and no access to our luggage and babies diaper bag which was taking to a holding area while we waited for our rooms to be available, I finally spoke with the receptionist and said is there a way to figure out what is going on with our rooms and he apologized and said they were all booked up and had no conjoining bedrooms or even rooms remotely close by each other for that matter. We were finally giving room cards at 3:45pm only to find the rooms where in fact a great deal away from each other and definitely not the ocean front view we paid extra money to have. The front desk passed us over to guest services where a gentleman named Fernando tried his best to make things right and had his manager speak with us. She issued us a 25min massage for our inconvenience and said tomorrow they will try to move our rooms but they don’t actually have rooms that are ocean view. Which is very interesting due to the fact that they sell a ocean view package. Her efforts to try and be accommodating didn’t go unnoticed but really just doesn’t measure up to 5 nights of paying for a ocean view room, having your family roomed together and the relaxing experience that should be present at a vacation. I felt so let down by the bait and switch mentality of this resort and poor customer service we received. I don’t know if all paying customers get treated this way or just my family but it has been very unfortunate. I wish I had a positive attitude going forward but I’m yet to feel like a genuine attempt has been made to correct this wrong. Sorry guys the Ocean Riviera Paradise just isn’t it!

The entertainment team is great here! They’re really friendly and they interact with you a lot - they know you personally and are a lot of fun to be around. When you go there, make sure you look out for Carlos! He is the best and makes you feel great!😎 He automatically becomes your best friend, but overall, they all make the holiday! The actual hotel itself is great and they make you feel welcome and looked after, most of all - safe. The activities here are very fun and the alcohol is great! The environment and animals around you are wonderful and the food is great. The rooms are always tidied well and staff are very accommodating.

Very good service everywhere, very good food and loved the entertainment. Sometimes communication was difficult with staff that were not able to speak English but we managed to get are message accros. The staff were very friendly and especially Ricardo from the Blue Moon breakfast that gave us the best service multiple times. The beach was very nice, however sadly there was a lot of seaweed during the period of are visit. I would usually not complain because it’s not the hotels fault, but during the hole week, no cleaning was done to help make the beach walkable. In conclusion, loved the place and the staff were amazing. However make sure to come when it’s out of the seaweed season. If you can and you are in the adult section, go visit the Blue Moon Breakfast!

Stayed at this resort for the holiday and it was an okay experience. Too much extra charges. The rooms are pretty dated. The food was okay, even in the specialty restaurant. Terrible planning for new years eve dinner, line up was crazy and if you didn't make reservations even in the buffet, you had to wait an hour in order to eat dinner. Service was terrible, especially at the center bar in the lobby. No one greeted the guest first you'd have to say hello to them first before they even acknowledge you, have to yell almost. Considering it's a 5 star resort, I'd expect service to be at least good but not at all. The only really positive side of this resort is the beach and resort grounds but everything else is meh and waste of money!

An absolutely outstanding hotel that provided an incredible holiday for myself and my friends. Its an all inclusive resort with multiple a la carte restaurants that you can visit as much as you like for free, as well as an extensive buffet. There are also many bars and even a night club. All the bars serve branded alcohol and cocktails with more selection than you can think of. All included. The rooms are beautiful with lots of space, great air conditioning and a rainfall shower. I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here and absolutely loved everything about our trip. From friendly staff and great food to great entertainment and awesome pools. Each day was very enjoyable for us. The staff were great to deal with especially the entertainment crew and Carlos from the entertainment staff. He made us feel welcomed each day we saw him. You can tell he really enjoys people and what he does! Don’t hesitate to book this property, you won’t be disappointed.

This is a review for not only the resort, but specifically for the Blue Moon restaurant. We had our special honeymoon diner there. We had not only the most amazing diner, as the food was amazing, but also the most attentive, delicate and wonderful service. First our hostess Andrea made sure we were well seated and knew right away about our special occasion, which we appreciated very much. Our server Jose, made sure we had everything we needed and made sure to make us feel special the moment we seated, and made sure we had everything throughout our meal. Also, the manager Trevino not only gave us a special experience, making sure we were at ease and comfortable, but made us feel incredibly welcome on our special night and provided us with a service that can only be rivaled by the most high-end restaurants in the world. I would not only recommend a stay at the resort, where the rooms are amazing and the staff is amazing, but the Blue Moon now holds a special place in my heart in this resort.

We celebrated our honeymoon here in October 2022. We absolutely loved every second, the staff are truly amazing and I couldn't fault them. The food is delicious, I'm a vegetarian and they have been so accommodating. From the moment we walked through the door we have been treated like VIPs, everything has been wonderful. The hotel environment is beautiful, wildlife roams free and everything has been thought of. The beach is also stunning, sandy beaches for miles! We upgraded to privilege and were lucky enough to have Lilli as our butler. She is a wonderful person who very clearly loves her job and looks out for the guests under her care. We couldn't recommend this hotel enough, we're already planning to return!

The staff are so friendly and kind at this resort. We felt very taken care of by Samantha at Mike’s Coffee - she was such a sweetheart and always greeted us in a friendly, cheerful manner. Ricardo from the Blue Moon made us feel like it was our home away from home - very attentive and hospitable. Ramiro from Laconda was a great server as well, always checking on us to make sure we were good. Alberto in the buffet was friendly and funny, making sure we had everything we needed! Not sure if the name of the gentleman in Margarita but he served us twice and he always made sure our guacamole was filled and that our drinks were never empty - truly lovely staff! Overall a great vacation here! Beautiful resort. Some maintenance issues in the rooms (a bit musty, having to empty the dehumidifier ourselves every 5-6 hours, some elevators out of service) but overall we had a great time!

We really enjoyed our time at Ocean Rivera Paradise. The facilities and the pools were great. I really enjoyed the quality of their cocktails. Unlike what a lot of people mentioned in the reviews, our room was very spacious and clean. Although, the rooms could use some improvements. It was not a deal breaker. The food in the resort was good overall. But there is room for improvement!

Staff was great! Not sure why people say the hotel is understaffed? Food was decent. Got sick of the buffet being the only option open for lunch. Plenty to do for kids! Wish they heated at least one of the pools. Was a little chilly on some of the cooler days. Hotel was worth the money forsure.

As many of the recent reviews state, this property is under new management and they are reducing cost to the point where it is effecting there service. Food all tasted frozen and it was absolutely disappointing. Drinks were decent, the casino has only one one table and a roulette table that is very old. The common theme was over promised and under deliver. They hype you up about "privilege upgrade" for $50 extra per person per day you get all these special things, but none of those things existed or of an decent quality. DO NOT BUY WINE in the restaurants they will scam you at checkout. The pool was cool, the deep tissue massage was great, scuba diving was good, the resort over all is just run down and not maintained. If you want a cheap vacation with food liquor with a few friends this is the place. But wouldn't recommend staying here for any thing to celebrate.

Liliana Rodriguez is THE best butler on the resort. She's attentive, kind, and checks in many times a day to make sure everything is perfect. When something is not, she's super quick to resolve the issue. Fernando & Celeste are great entertainers! Dinner served by Alexis, Fidel, & Moises was excellent and their presentation was perfect. Beatriz, Carlos, Sergio in the Privilege Lounge provide excellent services!

  • 4/5 Elizabeth L. 3 months ago on Google New
I stayed with my family over Christmas and New Years in the Privilege area. Some of our favourite things were the quiet pool, the privilege restaurant - where Alexis and Fidel were amazing - the beach, the coffees, all the animals. The a la carte dinners were tasty. Beds were comfy. Some other outstanding staff we encountered during our stay are Lily, Saul, and Melanie. The New Years at the buffet was quite chaotic, but the festivities - decor, bubbly, fireworks - in the main square after were nice. One of the rooms for our booking had a few issues - with the outlets and a small flood after some rain - but there were helpful staff who came to get us sorted. The online app/website was helpful to get menus, see hours of operations, book services. One point of frustration is that there were more than a few days where the activities listing didn’t match what was available. Overall, 4 stars - would return.

We had such an amazing experience at the ocean riviera paradise. The food and service was excellent! Everyone was so friendly and kind. The blue team did an incredible job with entertaining. There were also awesome shows at night. The hotel was clean and beautiful. So much to do! We couldn't of asked for a better place. It was perfect! We definitely want to go back and are recommending it to family and friends.

Alexis, Fidel and Moises served us an amazing dinner, great pasta show amazing service, food was great and drinks were great. 5 stars!!! Beatriz and Carlos were always very attentive and friendly and we loved seeing them every morning for breakfast!!!! Sergio was also great when he would take care of us. Lilly our butler is always amazing and we request her when we return each visit.

Most amazing place on earth! love Fernando and Celeste! Also attended the Privilege Lounge Dinner and Alexis was amazing. He did a mini show where he made a pasta in front of us at our table! Amazing service, very nice staff! We also went to the Privilege Lounge Breakfast everyday and had a fantastic experience, Beatriz, Carlos and Sergio treated us so well and took great care of us! We also had Lily as our butler and never had to worry about a thing. She had exactly what reservations we wanted and always confirmed them along with always checking on us and a number of other things! Absolutely amazing staff!

My family and I just got back from a 6-day vacation over NYE and we already miss Ocean Riviera so much! The staff were all amazing, spoke English and Spanish, and always were smiling. The rooms and resort itself was beautiful and we were very happy with our room (mainly the spaciousness and bathroom). The room service was especially great! We loved all the different restaurants and special places to go such as the bowling alley, tennis courts, game room, teens center, volleyball courts, theater, etc. There were constantly things to do to keep us entertained! But the one reason why I put 4/5 stars is simply because we were not very impressed with the food. It was good, but nothing amazing. Overall though I did not really mind and did thoroughly enjoy the desserts, drinks, Route 66, and the cafe. We highly recommend this place!

Great place to relax! I was travelling with a large group and had the pleasure of meeting Karla. She was so pleasant, kind, and just overall very positive person! She helped my family so much ensuring our needs were dealt with efficiently and effectively. The rooms were relaxing and the lobby bar had such a nice atmosphere! Loved the shops as you walk from your resort to the lobby bar, night time entertainment was lovely and we had the pleasure of experiencing their night market!

I’m disappointed reading the reviews and hope they are just disgruntled people that aren’t satisfied by anything. I was here 2 years ago and I have the privilege package. I had an amazing time. There are long waits for the restaurants but with my privilege package my restaurant reservations were made for me and I didn’t have to wait. There is very nice friendly staff and great entertainment. I accidentally locked my self out of my room and I was told to wait by the pool and they would get someone to open the room up. I didn’t have to wait long at all and had no further issues. There is a privilege lounge where I spent a lot of time and got to know the staff. Even had a few staff members teach me some Spanish which was great. I plan on going back soon assuming Covid regulations open up a bit

Pros: Blue Moon is a must for breakfast! We loved it. Great service from Edna here and the food was amazing with great options. The hibachi restaurant was also a fave. Very tasty and our expectations were exceeded. The spa was also a great experience. We were able to get a good deal on hydrotherapy, a massage, and facial. Cons: No air!! The air didn’t work pretty much anywhere. To be on vacation it’s extremely disappointing to feel so uncomfortable and miserable because the air doesn’t work anywhere well. Not even the bedroom. The resort and grounds can use some upkeep. There was rust in the pools and the pool water was also very warm instead of cold. The buffet didn’t have great quality food.

I had a great time at the Ocean Riviera Paradise. My experience at this resort wouldn't of been the same without certain key staff members. Guillermo and Marco from the privilege pool were always super accommodating, friendly and provided great service every single time we were there. The girls at the coffee shop, Samantha, Sonia and Paola were also were very welcoming and made great coffee for us everyday. The service and the food at this resort exceeded our expectations! Our room was always cold and super clean. I didnt get the name of our cleaning lady, but she always left us with fresh towels in the form of a different animal every single time! This resort has something for everyone. Kids and adults of all ages. The only disappointment for me was their beach. Its a small area and during our stay there was a huge amount of seaweed. However, they have nice pools with swim up bars to make up for it!

We're just getting into our first day at the resort. Have to say, after walking the property from our room in privilege back to the check in area it's like staying at a shopping mall. I expect at each turn or corner there will be a Gap or an H&M store. The property itself is well maintained but if you are looking for narrow paths and anything intimate it's not here. I'll post more as our week just started.

Fantastic holiday! We stayed in June for two weeks. The resort is clean and well presented. The food is plentiful and has a large choice to keep you happy even for two weeks. There were no issues with reserving a table and most take walk-ins. The staff are phenomenal, Carlos and Esteban especially. These guys were working the piano bar and the outdoor bar by the lobby during our stay and we got to know them well. The room staff were also exceptional; our room was made up to a good standard each day and complimentary fridge refills happened daily. There is lots to do and see, with wildlife filling the less urban areas of the resort. My constructive criticism would be to lighten up on the upsell for massages and wine at meals (this becomes repetitive and annoying). The beach area is really nice, but there is a lack of actual beach due to erosion. Luckily, a few minutes walk (to the left) takes you to a nice public beach where we spent a lot of time. We will be returning. Many thanks for the great (and well needed) holiday. James and Amy

The location is absolutely beautiful! The service was also great. The hotel crew was very nice and welcoming at all times. I love that there are several pool areas, VIP, adult, children etc. I also loved that there’s a train/trolley to get you around the resort because it is a lot of walking! The animals weren’t too bad, if you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you. The beach is small yet has a beautiful view.

Adrian in Blue Moon was very nice. He was helpful with recommendations and suggestions. Food tasty - soups, salmon and beef were delicious. Adrian has a great personality and cares about his superior service. Air conditioning in all restaurants need major improvement. Food and dining experience would be fabulous if you weren't sweating so much. The lobby is the only place that the air is working. Disappointing to be so uncomfortable when trying to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner.

We came with our two kids (7 and 8 years old) and everyone had a great time. Food was good. Weather was amazing at the end of November and the activities were a lot of fun. We met Alex - one of the kids’ club staff members - and she was awesome! She had so much energy and made the poolside games very memorable! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!!!!! 🌴🌺🍹👙♥️

We were a family of 16. Grandparents children and grandchildren. Because of COVID the kids club was shut down. We were not aware of this before arriving. Especially since it was all Inclusive and this was a major reason for coming with small children. Restaurants were quite a hike from where we were staying. There is a nice shuttle if you are willing to wait. The employees were very nice and helpful. How they handled the COVID testing at the end of our stay was very good. Room service was adequate. We were the prestige level and You were limited on how many things you could order… our children were not and had to pay. All in All I felt it was a lot of money for not getting everything as advertised.

This Is one of the best resorts so far I've been in Mexico. Definitely 5 stars (up to mexican stands by still 5). Large resort with lots of space for people with kids and the ones who would like to have the "adults only" experience. Plenty of pools and different zones. Food is great, even at buffets. If you want to go to a restaurant for dinner, you should reserve a place first thing in the morning, otherwise the spots are gone. Service is good too. Towel change every day, mini fridge restocks etc. Everything is being maintained clean and tidy. I was there with my newborn son, and I will definitely come back when he is a few years older.

First off it’s midnight and I’m having wings and the best burger at Route 66! Santiago served me oh so well and made me a milkshake. I have thoroughly enjoyed my short stay at this resort! The food at all restaurants was top notch ! Drinks at swim up bar ask for Marcelo ! The rooms are delightful! Only thing my elevator was broke but i bet when i come back it will be fixed! I had 2 massages one at resort and the locals have a very nice space on the beach! The even have transportation to and from each area ! Casino i won and lost lol ! Ice cream shop yummy! Bowling was too fun ! Will be back soon ! ASAP best time

I booked my stay for a very low rate and with that I knew everything wasn’t going to be perfect. First off if you do your research you’ll know that most the beaches in mexico have seaweed. That’s not the hotels fault. Food and drinks weren’t the best but it’s what you’d expect at an affordable all inclusive resort. The entertainment was fun but I’m also the type of person that has fun anywhere. The people we’re the best part. The front desk, waiter’s, entertainers, bartenders we’re all so sweet and very hospitable. People always greeted you as you passed by and anytime I asked for something, I was always accommodated. My biggest complaint would be the mild mildew smell in the room but it was tolerable. Other then that my room was clean, fridge and towels we’re always stocked and bed was extremely comfortable. I didn’t make any reservations for the restaurants what so ever but I still managed to get into those restaurants by just arriving and waiting on line. I would say everything was walkable so I never took the shuttle although I could see how It may be a far walk for children and seniors. I stayed in the Eden suite which was known as the party suite and I had a blast. Would I come back? Yes. It was super affordable and I’d say I got my money’s worth. If you want the excellent food, beach and drinks then spend the extra cash elsewhere.
