OK so it's tiny but we made the most of it and loved it! Beautiful views of lake Michigan from atop the dunes, sand trailers that are sometimes marked, took the dogs in a hike and they loved it. Beware there are people that let their dogs loose there which isn't very courteous. Got some great pictures, had a great day, make sure you stay upwind from the poop (sanitation) plant. Parked at Southport Park. Had a great time. Already went back with a friend for a longer hike with the dogs. Enjoy! And please keep your dogs leashed!

I have no idea how Google missed my going here since it was also my first time and I used navigation. I enjoyed it. I went on a warm day, clear skies. I went along the lake and then did the real trails by the marshland. I did not go all the way down so I'm not sure how far this goes but I think I was nearing a neighborhood. There were people out with their dogs and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. I enjoyed seeing the bushes that I learned long ago Native Americans used to clean their teeth. I saw some nests but not much for any signs of wildlife. I did run Pikmin and put down flowers for any of you using the app. I prefer it over PokΓ©mon. I will be back here. Please note that Google navigation shows the entrance to be about 1/3 mile north from where it actually is.

There is construction going on so there is a little secret path you need to find to get to the beach. It was pretty empty except for the nice fire and music some people were having at the other end of the beach. Definitly recommend coming to check the dunes!

Park on the south side of the Southport beach house. We loved all the flat rocks. We saw many butterflies and bees. The trails go in and out of the dunes and we were able to see lots of unique vegetation. The sound of the waves splashing along the rocks was much louder than I expected. There were only a few other visitors so it really felt like we had the lakefront to ourselves!

Entrance about 0.4 miles before Google says and no real parking. Park on the side of the road then walk the trail.

Google maps got me close to the park's entrance but the actual road was about a quarter mile south of where Google said. There is a large, worn out sign on the northeast corner that says, Kenosha Dunes. The park is not maintained as such and there is really no place to park a vehicle as the entrance is off a small neighborhood road. The gate prohibiting entrance by vehicles might scare off visitors but just to the left is a footpath that leads to the peaceful, grassy sand mounds.

They are pretty cool for the most part. The beach is covered in rocks and quite small. No sea glass to be found here. Parking is really small, maybe 6-7 cars can be parked in the area at a time. Kids were bored in no time. I'm glad we chexked it out, but now that we've seen it, there's no real reason to return.

The entrance is down the road from where Google maps believes it to be. It's ok. Picked up a decent amount of garbage. A lot of the signs on trails and for the area were broken. A number of people out walking their dogs. A moderate sized chunk of beach on lake Michigan.

Beautiful outdoor destination, but bring garbage bags lots of gross litter washing up on beach. Large number of Tampax tubes. πŸ˜’

Loved the long open beach, some areas with sand up to the water and others with large rocks to stand or sit on to watch the waves. The water was clean and so turquoise blue it almost felt tropical.
