Nice little castle overlooking the River fowey. Quite a walk up hill to get to it but worth it for the stunning views. No parking near by, site is completely unmanned and free.

So is it worth the short but steep climb from the beach to the castle 🏰- you bet it is, the pics speak for themselves! Not much of castle but a mere turret ruin but hey it's free people!! Don't be lazy and get those legs a pumping!

We loved it but it's worth noting there are not signs at every fork along the woodland access and both that and beach staircase are very steep!! Keep bearing left was the advice given to us πŸ‘

Small castle with a hike up from the beach. Site says there is parking nearby, but there's definitely not so don't trust the site. It is a beautiful hike up from the beach and the water is SO clear! Great views and a nice short visit.

ST Catherine's is a very small, unmanned ruin with absolutely stunning views out across the water. Only a short detour from the coastal path and around a 5 minute walk from the ruin, we came out of the bushes / over grown track and stumbled across a beautiful, calm, sandy cove, with a small cafe and toilets. Lucky enough to visit on such a nice day, seeing the turquoise coloured water and sun beaming down, it really was like a mini paradise. The reason for a 3 star review is because ST Catherine herself isn't that Impressive, a small ruin that is uplifted by the scenery.

Short walk from readymoney cove,. Worth going just for the views of Fowey and out to sea. A place full of history, not very big but worth the effort.

A short, but steep, walk up from Readymoney beach. Worth a look if you are on the beach for the day or doing a coastal path walk. Nice views overlooking the bay, it’s very small as far as castles go.

A small defence castle built by Henry VIII just off the cliff path above Readymoney beach. A great location overlooking the harbour entrance. There is a history of the castle from the iron age to WW2 located in the shelter on the cliff path behind the castle.

St Catherine's Castle is small ruin over looking the river Fowey. Bit of a climb through trees to get to the castle but well worthwhile once you see the stunning view across Fowey and Penruan. The path can be accessed from steps off ready money beach or via a path from road. The path is uneven so sensible footwear is a must. The ruins itself is worth the climb. Fantastic photo opportunity. Can always carry on the walk round onto coastal walk towards next cove.

Only a 3 because there is basically nothing to see of the castle itself, not much information about to read, and although what is left is nice, the castle is uplifted tremendously by the walk up to it (if you care for that) and the view from the castle. The car park is a 10 minute walk up the road (anybody saying there isn't a car park is an idiot). Me and my partner took the shorter route by the beach, walked past the wall and up the stairs, although it was quite steep - careful as this way can be blocked by the tide depending on the day, but there is the proper route to take.
