It’s the most popular attraction in Ella. The stone bridge stands upto a height of 80 feet surrounded by forests and beautiful scenery. The best time to visit the bridge is in morning or evening. You will get some amazing opportunities to see train passes. If you are lucky you will get to see some trains (Ella Oddessey) stops on the bridge for a while.

Is an amazing piece of work. A very popular attraction of locals and tourists. Usually crowded on weekends/public holidays. The Ella Odesey train stops here for 10-15 minutes to enjoy the view and take some photographs.

We visited here with a group. However, there were a lot of tourists when a train passes the bridge. The surrounding of the bridge is beautiful with the tunnel. Only local van or tuktuk drivers can bring us near the bridge otherwise we have to park our vehicles in the main road and walk to the bridge. I saw may young boys climbed the side walls of the bridge and take photographs. But it is very dangerous, however there are no authority to control such risky behaviors.

Very chilling place. Bridge is constructed in English era. Its made from stones, bricks and cement. It has nine arches. Very attractive place for visit and has several paths to reach here. If you take oddesy train it stops here. And watch out for leeches if it a rainy day. I've been there three times. Only took 15-25 minutes to reach there on foot.

Hii, its a worth to visit place when your in Ella. Pathway is not so bad as we carried our two year old & other kids 11 & 7 also walked freely. Better go during the day & leave before sunset since pathway is pretty dark. No tickets needed. Enjoy your visit to Ella...

You don’t need to purchase tickets for the entrance in advance. Great place for photography. you can reach to this place from the train or hike through the small mountain. Most of people has’t idea about the walking track. be careful about tuk tuk drivers, some of them are charged higher prices . however you have to walk 10 minutes walk. Nice people and they are treating very well.

As a local visitor, I recently had the opportunity to visit the iconic 9 Arch Bridge, and I must say it was an incredible experience. The bridge itself is a true marvel of engineering and stands as a testament to the craftsmanship of its time. The architectural design is simply mesmerizing, with its nine stone arches blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings. However, I must mention that access to the bridge could be improved. The path leading to it was a bit rough and uneven, which made it slightly challenging to navigate, especially for elderly or physically challenged individuals. I believe that enhancing the infrastructure leading to the bridge would make it more accessible and enjoyable for all visitors. βœ… Remember to mark this review as HELPFUL to encourage more detailed reviews for others. ☺️

The beautiful 9 Arches on the Demodara loop, spanning approx 90 mtr at 24 mtr height commissioned in 1940's built of rocks. Its a great spot for tourists and photography, but reaching there is a bit tricky. Best to be around 4 - 5 in the evening as you could see the passing train.

This is a big one.Β No one wants 100 other tourists on the bridge in their view or in their pictures. and since Nine Arches Bridge is so popular, you may want to put in a little extra work to get there bright and early. We arrived at the bridge just before 1:00 pm and there was NO ONE there. People slowly started trickling in and by 8:00 and the bridge was completely full of people until the train passed through at 1.50 pm. We recommend getting there even earlier to watch the first trains pass between 6:30-7:00 am. Then, hang out for while afterwards, and maybe the crowds will eventually die down. The viewpoint where we sat was fabulous.

Ella's Nine Arches Bridge is a great spot for photos. Built in 1920 by the British, it's a sturdy 300-foot-long, 25-foot-wide, and 100-foot-high structure in a lush setting. You can reach it by train or tuktuk. Best times to visit are morning or evening. Seeing trains pass or stop briefly adds to the charm. A must-see for its beauty and history.

The bridge can be reached via several routes. You can walk, drive yourself or be driven. The path we chose seems to give the best view from my point of view. We went with our own scooter, but would definitely walk next time. The route is anything but easy. Parking fee 100 LKR. Search for "the Best view point". The way down to the bridge is very steep and difficult. Only use if you are really good on foot. The way down along there are 1-2 caffees but clearly worthwhile and give a wonderful view of the bridge. Who does not dare this tour, should choose another way. The bridge itself is very nicely situated and offers some opportunities for beautiful photos. Trains pass along here regularly.

9 Arch bridge in Ella is a great place to capture your scenery photos. And yes, it's better to capture when the train come. So find out the time when the train arrives!! You can give yourself a walk in a pine forest and capture the train arriving from there.

Beautiful place to visit & take nice photos. This bridge was made by the British at colonial-era ( 1920 ). Still it's strong even after a century. 300 feet in length , 25 feet wide & 100 feet in height. It can be reached by train or tuktuk. We walked through the crossing. It took 30 or 45 minutes. The railway bridge was very impressive.

This historical bridge located in Demodara, between Ella and Demodara railway stations. Connecting two mountains together, built during colonisation period. It's a masterpiece, surrounded by tea fields. They call it (Bridge in the sky), you can go there easily walking or by tuk tuk . You can enjoy the view of the train coming, but before you should check the train schedule. We were there 9:10am waited for 10 minutes and then the train came ,it was a magical moment. Luckily there wasn't many people so we took very nice photos.

This place is looking as reall as all the pictures. This area is really photogenic. But taking pictures sitting on the bridge top is quite risky even though we all do. The village people said few people has died by falling down even we haven't much aware of this news. The bridge top is somewhat sloped to the outside which increases the risk of falling down. But the surface is very rough so it's not slippery unless it's raining. We walked along the railways from Ella Railway station. The route was so easy since there were no cross roads and the train schedule is well displayed on the railway station. πŸ›€ There are two routes to get in to the rain road which runs to the Ella town starting near the bridge. One route is straight through the wild and other is a small cross road. Anyhow it's hard to go to this place by a vehicle. You anyway have to walk a bit.

Nice view and tourist attraction to mark. Best in mind the trains can be late or at some cases will not come at all ... Check the updates before to be prepared

Lots of tourists but still a lovely photo and you can walk along the tracks after which is cool. Plenty of fruit and juice stalls everywhere, even by the tracks between stations. You can tell if a train is coming based on how many people are waiting! Timetable in picture.

This is located within walkable distance from Ella town. You will find the shortest walking path to the Nine Arches Bridge in Ella-Passara road. (around 2.5km) This location is very famous and popular among foreigners and local travellers. It's better be there before the train passes the bridge. Most travellers love to take more photographs, selfies and short video clips on the bridge. Now days it's much interested to take drone videos over the Nine Arches bridge and the surrounding. Further, need to be careful if the wasp flies over the bridge. As sometimes wasp get aggressive and attack to people. This happened mostly due to higher noises by people on the bridge and due to drones flying around wasp nests which located under the bridge. (under the arches there are so many wasp nests) However, this must be added to your bucket list while travel tour to Sri Lanka. Hope you enjoy responsibly and keep our mother nature clean. Welcome to Sri Lanka. Welcome to Ella. πŸ’πŸ™πŸπŸ‡±πŸ‡°

Go there before 9AM. Otherwise it will become very crowded. From 9AM to 11AM there will be several trains passing by. You can enjoy the scene there. You can reach here by foot from Ella railway station. It's will be a rail hike. The rail road have places with beautiful view.

The bridge is simply amazing. We were flying there with drone you may see it on Instagram Kidsonpack. Beside it was not too busy. We have chosen 13:00 to see train crossing. Please take a lot of water with you if you want to walk there. There is also possibility to travel there with tuk-tuk. But this is not at all as fun as going trough the jungle :)))

It's awesome place. And it one of those I been there too place. It's not wow place or it's not must see place. This good example social media does wonder. If your in this area come and see it. The rain ride was awesome. If u go on the tain that leave colombo port at 5am u can see the arch if u take the 9am on u will get there at night and u won't see anything. It gets super dark in srilanka soon as it hits 6pm. And since it a tourist area I wish they would light up sp even the night train tourist can see this spot.

20 to 30 mins walking/trekking experience in pine forest and you'll come across to see the amazing architecture of nine arc brigde. Mostly crowded on week ends and holidays as its a popular tourist place in Ella.
