Our meal was wonderful. Wait staff very attentive and helpful. Everyone very pleased with their orders. Only one vegetarian entree that might disappoint vegetarians looking for something more indulgent but was perfect for me. Very light on oil and healthy. The brussel sprout appetizer was a bit decadent, but shockingly tasty. They were happy to accommodate a vegan.

Service inaudacute. 4 patrons in the restaurant and all staff were concerned when we were going to be finished.Hostes has the personality of a rock. Bartender was pleasant however was not familiar with menu items. Also talked to other employees constantly. The kitchen staff hung around the bar for the entire time we were there. Made it clear that they were just waiting on us to finish so they could go home. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional. However the food was excellent. The last time we dined there ( 8 years ago) Same experience. We will not return.

I attended Cafe Maxx with family for a birthday dinner and I was thoroughly impressed throughout the meal. Cafe Maxx is an innovative restaurant with a lively atmosphere and knowledgeable and friendly staff. Their menu changes daily; however, they have many staple items that will be consistently listed on the menu. We started with appetizers. The crispy fried eggplant milanese was well-seasoned and paired well with two contrasting sauces. I was expecting it to be crispier but I was very impressed with the taste. The jumbo lump crab cakes were flavorful, well cooked, and seasoned and accompanied with vegetables and lime. The tuna sashimi pizza is a staple at this restaurant and while I do not typically enjoy raw fish-centric dishes, it was perfectly paired with cream cheese, caviar, and green onion and was divine. I highly recommend each of these appetizers. For the entree course, I had the stuffed pasta shells bolognese, which was an elevation of a classic Italian meal. It was rich without being overly heavy, and the dark and sweet tomato sauce paired well with the savory and flavorful sausage. My parents had the seared jumbo scallops with lemon citrus butter. The scallops were cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the risotto and asparagus on which it was served. My grandmother had the banana chip, almond, and macademia crusted triple tail, which had a creative fruity and nutty flavor combination that worked well with the fish and I thoroughly enjoyed. Lastly, my sister had the duck and smoked mozzarella ravioli, which was rich and flavorful, and the sauce and vegetables perfectly paired with the ravioli. It was my favorite meal of the night. For dessert, we had the deep dish bourbon and chocolate pecan pie, which was very strong but flavorful and delicious nonetheless. We also had the Fallen Chocolate Cake, which was a rich, decadent, dark chocolate lava cake that made the perfect end to the meal. Both desserts were served with homemade vanilla ice cream, which complemented each dessert perfectly. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with our meal at Cafe Maxx, and hope to be back soon. Note: This restaurant has an attire requirement. No flip-flops, tank tops, or athletic attire.

9/12/23- we had a reserv for 6:30pm. Hostess spot on offered for us to sit in table or booth. We choose a booth. Menu placed w/ wine list. We went for the the Dine Out $55.00. The choices were many. I went with my first course as a shrimp Asian salad. 2 huge shrimps nice crunch to it the salad it was a party in my mouth. G had the Caesar salad, with prosciutto. Nice touch. We both then had the peppercorn Filet. Like butter . Menu said bread on request, we requested , glad we did , All different types so good. The dessert, we both went w/ the brownie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a chocolate sauce. Carla the serve was Spot on. Very professional, not intrusive at all. She was very helpful with the menu ordering because I wanted to order two beef dishes and she said I thought you liked the shrimp and I’m so glad she said something because I totally forgot. Carla thank you for making our evening so nice.

Beyond great. This must truly be one of those best kept secrets in town. Run by an incredible team. Most of the staff having been there for years speaks volumes about how well run this place is. Very welcoming very genuine vibe. Coming from Miami and getting to find an intimate place like this is truly a great happening. Can’t wait to come back

I made brunch reservations for Father's Day, based on all of the positive reviews that were posted regarding this restaurant. Our reservation time was 10:30. We were the second table seated in the restaurant. It was an utter disappointment, to say the least. It started off with no one coming to our table to get our drink orders or at least even bringing us some water. My husband had to find staff members to ask if we can at least get some waters served to our table. Our waitress, who informed us that it was her first day, took a while to take and bring our actual drink orders. When we would ask our waitress for recommendations or clarification on some menu items, she couldn't provide us with any helpful information and would state how today is her first day and she is not completely familiar with the menu. We placed our order for our food probably around 10:45am, only because it took our waitress a long time to circle back to our table to get our order. By this time there were several tables seated around us, clearly past the time that our reservation was made. After about 30 mins and seeing other tables receiving their food, we inquired into the status of our food. The waitress seemed perplexed that our food had not come out yet and said it should be coming out shortly. Our food didn't come to our table until about 11:45am. My husband ordered the duck raviolis and poached eggs, that came with sundried tomato & basil smoked gouda. When his order came out, it was swimming in oil. Biting into the raviolis and eggs, all he could taste was oil. He sent the dish back because he was grossed out. A gentleman came, presumably the manager, came to our table and stated that that is how the dish is made, it is a French way of cooking and it was butter sauce. We know the difference between oil and butter, that was definitely not butter. I feel they set up the waitress for failure. How are you going to schedule a brand new waitress for a busy Father's day brunch shift? And if the waitress was truly new, why wouldn't you partner her with a seasoned waitress to ensure the service was carried out well? You're telling me that ALL those staff members in the restaurant didn't notice that all the other tables were receiving their food items, but the second table that was initially seated hadn't received their food? Wouldn't that strike someone as abnormal and do their due diligence to check on the food? For the cost of the food and the reviews posted about this restaurant, I expected a lot more. We wouldn't even give this restaurant another try, that's how disappointing this dining experience was.

Service was good. Cocktails were strong. The tuna sashimi pizza was delicious. Both of our fish entrees were over cooked and dry. Overall it was good but for the price it should have been perfect.

Really, really delicious food. The chef is an artist and that comes with a hefty price tag but worth it. Not sure how often we will eat here just because of pricing but definitely will go back from time to time just not on the regular. If you got some extra cash and want an outstanding meal then I highly recommend Cafe Maxz

I recently hosted a surprise birthday party for my wife at Cafe Maxx, to call it outstanding would be an understatement. Darrel and Oliver went to the max to make the night extra special. The service was just as amazing as the food. Their ability to get twenty perfect dinners out at the same time is a mystery. My guests were all impressed and the restaurant gained many new repeat customers. I can’t thank the terrific staff enough for making my wife’s special day one that will not be forgotten.

Everything we had was delicious! The atmosphere is relaxing and staff accommodating. We had a brussel sprouts appetizer that was FANTASTIC! I loved the sweet chile sauce. We also had a sushi pizza as an appetizer. I don't typically care for sushi, but it was really tasty. For the main course, my cousin had ravioli and I had the scallops. She loved the ravioli and says she gets it every single time she dines there. The scallops and risotto was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be returning here again soon!

Loved this place a lot! Definitely not cheap since this is a fine dining experience, with the menu being changed every day. We tried the steaks, appetizers, and salads. All incredibly tasty and aromatic. Dessert experience was incredible too, try the vanilla crème brûlée!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. It is one of my most favorite restaurants and I have been dining here for over 25 years.

Incredible food, great service but the dining room needs a little TLC. Cafe Maxx is a local gem an during a recent visit, we ordered the Eggs Benedict - the English muffins were nicely toasted, eggs perfectly poached and hollandaise was divine, as well as the Crispy Toast. Crispy Toast is a recent addition to the menu and an absolute revelation to behold - deep fried French toast, gobs of Nutella, fresh fruit and syrup that brought an ear-to-ear smile with the first bite. Only reason for giving 4 stars is the dining room is in dire need of a dusting (visible layer on all light fixtures + AC vents) and the dark carpet + heavy curtains give it a dated, dingy feel - definitely has 5 star potential and worth a visit.

Have dined here several times, always with a good outcome. Went last week and was completely disappointed. We ordered a bottle of wine, the server disappeared for 20 minutes then came back saying she "couldn't find that wine". We ordered another bottle and she disappeared again for another 15 minutes and never came back. We sat at the table for over 30 minutes - no wine - nobody took any appetizer order. We got up and left and will not go back. The food is good but if the service that night is any indication, its just not worth the waste of time. What a shame.

Wow what a surprise of a 0lace. Service is great. When the waiter comes 9ver knows the food really well and takes the entire order with out a pen that's impressive. We had tuna pizza, fish taco my favorite ones, and other fish orders. ALL were great. Will come back a lot. Only issue is the ombiance is old school and dark. But the food is amazing.

I had heard lots about Cafe Maxx, thought I would pay it a visit on New Years Eve and what a disappointment, glad to our 2022 behind me. Food was average at best and service was nothing to write home about. Mixed drinks had so much alcohol that it was liking taking shots, perhaps it was a way to hide the poor taste and quality of meal. There are other places you can spend your time and money on.

Resting comfortably in one of South Florida’s endless strip malls is Cafe Maxx which has been serving up some of south Florida’s better meals in the area. The space has a more traditional feel and can feel slightly cramped if seated in the middle of the floor, I would recommend requesting a booth or side table when booking. The wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The menu itself is quite vast for a more fine dining experience, so it was only natural to try several dishes. This being our second visit, we did order the tuna sashimi pizza which blends a delicious balance of sweet , savory, crispy crunchy goodness that leaves me wanting the whole pie for myself. On the first visit, there was one let down and that was the rack of lamb, which came out a good bit after our second course. It was over cooked and rather flavorless, but the apologetic staff took care of it. For the main dish this evening we had the scallops over risotto, which while thoughtfully prepared and tasty, was not worth the $65 price tag for the three scallops. On to maybe the best part of the evening, the house special crème brûlée which was quite unlike any experience I’ve had with such a dish. Instead of a ramekin, the brûlée is served in a large edible shell and filled with the gooey filling which seemed to never end. Instead of the traditional gelatinous texture, it was smooth, creamy and hard to stop eating. Worth the splurge. Follow @eatwithjordy for more fun food ventures!

The food at Maxx is always excellent, in my opinion. I always enjoy my meal here. Dessert should not be skipped! Our server was cheerful and attentive. We didn't feel rushed at all. If you are looking for ambiance, this probably isn't the best option. The restaurant needs sprucing up. It's very dark. Tables and chairs are unbecoming of the caliber of the restaurant. To get to the bathrooms, you have to walk through service areas. Once there, the appearance of the bathrooms is a far cry from the prices on the menu. If you want consistently excellent food, don't miss Maxx. They deliver. Every time.

BEWARE my fellow patrons. Food was great, service was great…. But wasn’t worth the scary incident that happened with the Valet Company Cafe Maxx uses!!! They stole my house keys from my car and I was terrified I was going to be followed home. My registration to the vehicle was in the car. Cafe Maxx still uses the same valet company and the valet company IntraValet took absolutely no responsibility. So BEWARE of your Safety!!!! No one there cares about it!
