I originally left a review 4 years ago, and came back for the first time tonight since COVID. I was very impressed with the restaurant - it was exactly as I remembered! They have delicious food options, friendly and attentive staff, and a great lively atmosphere. Highly recommend! We always get the Codzitos - it’s great as a meal or a starter! For tonight, we had the Queso Fundido as a starter, which was warm and served with tortillas. I had the Verde Enchiladas, my mother had the Mayan tacos, my father had the Codzitos, and my sister had the seafood tacos. Highly recommend this restaurant - they are consistently amazing!

I went on a rainy day, so it wasn't packed as usual. The waitress was so sweet and on point. Our drinks never went empty. The salsa had a savoryness to it, I liked it. The shrimp tacos were different than anything I'd had at any Mexican restaurant before and they were great! A mix of tomatoes, onions, cilantro and shrimp was served in a small dish along side a plate of warm soft tortillas wrapped in foil and a small cup of guacamole. The steak tacos were amazing, too! I definitely recommend this place. I even overheard someone say they drive all the way from Coral Gables to eat there because they liked it so much!

We came to Casa Maya for the Taco Tuesday $3 tacos and $4 margueritas. We had a nice outdoor table, and we were grateful that we arrived early as there was a 30 minute wait starting around 6 pm. I had two steak tacis and one chicken taco - I thought they were a little dry, but they were $3. I tasted my friend's street corn and thought it was delicious. I would come back to try items on their regular menu as the entrees looked fabulous.

Our server was very polite and kind. Very easy to talk to and seem very well knowledgeable about the menu, but the only thing is the food that my friend and I ordered was terrible. Had absolutely no favor, no sauce. The tacos where so bland I’ve been plan tacos like this ever in my life. This was truly a disappointment to us. Aside from that I was not a fan of their margarita. Their sour mix over-powered the drink and gave me heartburn.

What an outstanding dinning Mexican experience this turned out to be. My wife said, let's go check it out! We've lived in Florida for over 14 years, and this is THE best Mexican food we've ever had! We shared the pork Belly soft tacos and the shredded beef enchiladas! Boxito. Both absolutely delicious and kept going for more. The flavors were authentic and with fresh ingredients. Service was very friendly, as our server Angelina was so attentive. I can't recommend this place enough!

As a local, born & raised in DFB, Casa Maya has one of the most authentic taco Tuesdays around (and every other day)! All of their staff is happy and helpful. The atmosphere is amazing. The owner is always eager to greet & welcome you. Oh and the margaritas never disappoint!!!

Was looking for a new Mexican restaurant and this place was great. My wife approves of their margaritas. I was happy with the octopus ceviche. The fajitas were a lot of food. I’ll go back often.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon to have a few cocktails they have a dinning area and the bar both with different types of music. The bar area were we sit was darker and cozy the music was good and from the 90s lol I was the only Spanish speaker from the group so I did enjoy the music though made me feel really old with a blast from the past great place to come have drinks and have a good time. The octopus ceviche was fantastic and tasty. I will be back for a nice dinner. The bartender was really friendly.

Great Place To Unwind This place never disappoints! the food is the freshest. This is definitely the right place to enjoy a margarita and a meal. The bartender and waitstaff are there to cater to your needs. Table side guacamole!!!!!! It’s the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Florida!! The owner, Emilio, goes to Mexico every few weeks to bring back authentic spices……. Must Try This Place!

Had a wonderful time! Emilio (the owner) is the best! Very crowded restaurant, and he escorted us to the bar and made room for us. Great bartender and atmosphere. The place smells great! We got the mezcal flight and were not disappointed. Served with orange slices, worm salt, and cinnamon...yum! Emilio gave us tastings from his personal stash and informed us about mezcal, tequila, and the restaurant. We ordered seafood fajitas. Delicious! The salsa tastes fresh made.

This place has an awesome take on authentic Mexican cuisine. I have had tacos in Mexico and they are just as good as the ones here. The staff and ambiance is also on point. You can't beat the taco Tuesdays and drink specials.

We came on Saturday night to have drinks and dinner with my whole family. The experience was amazing. The food, the service and the kindness of the owner, Emilio was outstanding. So far, this is one of the best places to go, if you are looking for great food, and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended. From Medellin with love, Carmen and Luis G. Tip: Take the tram to the place. Steve was very good.

Visited Casa maya grill On our 1st night here in Deerfield from Michigan. The food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely make this place one of annual stops every summer I come to South Florida. The tacos were delicious licious the fajitas were hot and sizzling and my mojito was was one of the best I've had.

Excellent food and service. I was very impressed by this team who was working together very quickly to serve the patrons. We were helped by 5 different people who all made sure we had everything we needed to have a most enjoyable experience and the food was great! We are visiting from California and would love to have a place like this to eat regularly.

The food was delicious and it came super quick. Our waitress was super nice, however she didn't know our meals get sides and we would have not got all our food if we didn't ask her to ask her manager. That's why 4 stars and not 5. But we will definitely be back.

Great clean place with authentic meals and drinks. We were amazed by the quality of the drinks. Malinda provided great recommendations. In addition, octopus ceviche was particularly incredible. I would recommend going there for lunch and/or dinner. You will leave with the strong feeling to come back.

The place seems very clean and decoration was tasteful. It smelled appetizing, they served about 4 sizzling fajita to neighbor tables 😋 The service was great but food was slow to reach us, at least the server acknowledged the fact and offered more nachos with salsa for the wait. Taco steak beef was very tender and fresh. They have a bar area with a couple of tables in the back, this restaurant makes very good use of their space without feeling too clotted. I would recommend it!

Great atmosphere and would definitely grab a marg! Everyone was very nice and it is a cute place to sit outside. I was not very impressed with the food, but lots of options, and vegetarian friendly!

Came for dinner on the advice of others. I was immediately impressed with the host; he was pleasant and accommodating. The ambiance replicated an authentic Mexican Restaurant that you would find when visiting Mexico. The food was absolutely delicious. The only negative was the service. Our particular server was attentive upon our arrival but couldn’t be found once we ordered. The other members of the staff, especially one particular busboy (short and thin), were extremely intrusive and annoying. We felt as if we were in a fishbowl and couldn’t relax. This would have been a five star review if it wasn’t for the ANNOYING busboy.

We have been a handful of times after Ryan from beach rides highly recommended. Each time the food was delicious as was the service. So for my birthday I wanted to go… hubby ordered 6 tacos, ALL HORRIBLE… dry and flavorless. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla… it was lacking in flavor as well and very few shrimp were used. They ran out of avocados and to top it off we were charged 12 dollars for extra salsa, which by the way is delicious but extremely small.

  • 4/5 Sheldon G. 9 months ago on Google
Went to Casa Maya for the first time and found the food to be tasty and plentiful. There was one short, thin busboy that was very annoying and made us feel rushed and intruded upon. We saw our server until our food came, then never again. We had to keep asking other servers for drinks and our check. This would have been a five star review for food and ambiance, but the intrusive busboy and server being MIA had lowered it to four stars.

Emma is the best bartender! She knows her tequila quite well. We come here often and the food is great. Always well balanced. The menu is interesting and not exactly like the other Mexican places. Different enough to be interesting. The food quality is good. Always taste fresh and not too heavy. If you like tequila, see Emma at the back bar and she can help you pick something great to try. Do a tequila flight so you can try several. The selection is impressive for a neighborhood Mexican restaurant.

We've been coming here occasionally for years but guess I have never reviewed. Preferred their old chips. It's been a while so not sure when they changed them. Guacamole was good. I got the pork belly tacos and they were better than last time, which were still great, because the meat was cut smaller, partially shredded making them easier to eat. Hubs had enchilada pabil and it was good. Service was fine.

Obsessed would be an understatement. I have become a loyal diner here and bring everyone I can to try it out. Amazing food and margaritas! The deals on Taco Tuesday are hard to beat. Also, the staff is so friendly and hard working. I'm mad at myself for not trying this place years ago.

We tried this place today, food was decent and the salsa was pretty good. Service was very slow as it took a while to get our food (only 2 of us), the main reason for the lowest rating is that they charge you for EVERYTHING. My wive asked for some estra sauce that came with her plate and they charged $2.50 for basically a condiment, I understand that times are tough but they should not try to recover on little things like a sauce or on the customers. I mentioned to the server that the charge was ridiculous bet she did not care, at least they should tell you when you ask for it that there is a charge for it.

I see this place every day cus i go to the store next door. It is always packed so it must be good... I must've just caught them on a bad day or something. I had the pork belly tacos. Dees- -gust- -ing. Ive never had a harder, chewier, overcooked meat in my life. Words cannot describe how bad it was. BUT im willing to give it another shot because its always packed. they have to be doing something right.

Worst fajitas ever with soft and mushy onions and peppers (must have been prepped earlier and kept in warmer until served), with limited condiments included (rice, beans and some green sour sauce), they charged $3 extra for tomatoes and cheese...all for $19, come on! Worse, now after this dinner I feel sick. Won't ever come back, so many other great Mexican food restaurants in the area, this is my worst.

  • 3/5 Eve E. 3 years ago on Google
Food was excellent, but the male waiter seemed distracted and in a rush and we had to repeatedly ask for things he kept forgetting. Plus the soup was served after the entree, instead of before the entree, as requested and is most often the standard in food service. Surprising, because on previous visits our waitresses have always been fantastic. In addition, the second time the hostess girls in the front assume without asking if the full group/party is here. Because of this mistake, our name was skipped on the list again! First time it happened, I chalked it up to a misunderstanding...now this happened a second time. Unacceptable. Please train the hostess to ask instead of assuming. Overall the customer service was lacking.

Stopped over for the Taco Tuesdays. Ordered 5 tacos, would suggest maybe 6. All was fantastic, the Margaritas hit the spot. Chorizo taco was the best and great service on top of all that.

Service was very slow. Food came to table after sitting out a while. Didn’t like the Hibiscus Mojito, because it was overly sweet. The dinner was overall good but this restaurant used to be better and could use improvement.

I'm here again at Casa Maya, they all know me and evil eye. But they take my order while I stand inside and wait for it. Thank you! That 1 star review will be changed to 5 stars. Previous 1 star review edited: Service was almost refused due to required mask. The food is always consistently good. 5 stars for that. The waiter attempted to ruin the dinner purchase by attempting to force a mask. He took my order and I paid outside, like a junkyard dog standing in the blowing rain. After a long while I went inside and requested my togo order. He again confronted me and I said Bring my order or get the manager. The manager denied mask restrictions have been lifted and I asked her to show me where is says that. She asked me to leave and I said Call the police or give my food ordered. She got my bag together ASAP and only then did I walk out. In September, Gov. Ron DeSantis lifted all statewide COVID-19 restrictions on businesses, including mask enforcement. This is no longer an issue of "doing what we are told," but overextension of power, control, and playing on fears. Time to stop it and get back to normal.
