This garden is so beautiful! It is totally worth the 15 minute walk from our waterfront hotel in Ponta Delgada. There are so many beautiful trees and flowers. It is a great place to have lunch. We bought fruit, bread and cheese from the supermarket right bear the entrance and enjoyed eating on a shady bench. There is also a cafe in the garden too.

Beautiful and well kept garden, free to enter, there are ducks and chickens living there. Inside there is also a lovely coffee shop/cafe. Unfortunately it was raining when we visited but I would recommend even on a drizzly day.

It’s a city park with a free entrance. There is a cool cafe inside the park. It’s not a big park, but there are a lot of beautiful trees, plants and flowers to see. We were lucky to see baby ducks. There is a South African flower that looks like a tropical bird, it’s called the bird of paradise. One of the most amazing plants I’ve seen. And there are two giant Australian trees. The photos don’t do it justice. On the downside, there is a lot of garbage around the park and inside the many park caves. It didn’t look like the park was well taken care off.

A beautiful, peaceful spot in the middle of the bustling city. Open to the public, no admission, and just the most stunning, secret spots to sit and admire the hundreds of flora specimens from around the world. Also, ducks, roosters and cats. ❤️

Very pretty part to stop at! They have a small cafe there, but it was pretty busy in early afternoon. There's a small pond where we saw baby ducks. There's also some paths to walk which are nice.

Nice, peaceful, free gardens. While it’s not huge, you can enter from the top or bottom, and there are a number of paths, benches to sit, and little nooks to explore. I went thinking the plants would be local, but they’re curated from all over, Honduras to South Africa to SE Asia. Definitely a few species here I’ve never seen before!

Great improvements on plant life and general mantainance. We found the park very family friendly. Warning! You will be attracted to one or two plants and never want to leave.

Pretty nice outdoor green space for a light, afternoon stroll. There is a very impressive tree that is at the center of the park (no info on it though), and is a great IG spot… my fav is the bamboo groves that are scattered around which gives the park an extra zen vibe. There arent areas for picnics. This park is free to the public, although it is a little far on foot from the city centre of Ponta Delgada.

A beautiful place to visit. Well maintained, lots of ducks and chickens wandering around and a cafe serving wonderful food. Definitely worth a visit and it’s free!!

Unfortunately we arrived in a HUGE thunderstorm & the café was closed so we sheltered outside with a few other drenched tourists, gardeners & chickens 🐓🐓. The park itself was a beautiful oasis in Ponta Delgada, even after the deluge we experienced.

A beautiful botanical garden a few minutes away from the city center of Ponta Delgada. It is easy to find, a nice, relaxing spot, recommended for everyone. The garden has a nice, modern style small restaurant as well.

Wow these Gardens are frankly amazing and we were only lucky enough to find them because of our Whales food tour guide.

Beautiful botanical garden with a wide range of vegetation and above all huge ancient trees! The entry is free, there is a lot of shade if you want to escape from the scorching sun and you can get a nice rest on one of the benches. There are multiple entrance points but that said the place is pretty enclosed and thus nicely separated from the city outside.

Beautiful garden. I came here instead of paying a whopping 5€ at the botanical gardens near the presidential palace😑. I guess the president is short on money 🧐? Can't speak to what I missed, but I spent over an hour exploring all the caves and various paths in this lush and beautifully preserved park from the mid-1800s. Considering I was unknowingly stuck in the town during the public holiday on October 5, I found this to be a great respite.

Great park with very old trees and many different plants. In the back there is a nice restaurant for coffee/cake. There can junky-type of people but there is also police surveillance, so no worries.

A peaceful green oasis on the Westside of Ponta Delgada. With a snackbar, restrooms and a little playground for your little ones.

Amazing place. It's not huge but I really like the variety of trees and plants around this place. Loved the huge Australian tree in the middle of the park. Lots of birds chirping throughout the place. Great for relaxing walks and getting some fresh air.

Beautiful garden and one of the town’s highlights not so crowded by visitors. Free entry and plenty of places to relax and read a book.

I think it is a very pleasant park. The entrance is free of charge, there are a lot of beautiful places to wonder around. There is also a playground for children. A nice place to spend time with family and friends. It is situated close to the city center, and it is possible to enter it from two sides.
