Food was average. Fish texture is flaky and hard, could be over cooked. Salted egg crab sauce is creamy type don’t see any salted egg pieces. Fried rice is mushy and sticky.

Crab was definitely not fresh. We ordered 2 and one was significantly small and with mushy meat. They were 610g and 620g, with 10g difference. However, the photo-ed crab (not eaten at all) only had half its meat in its pincher compared to a normal fresh crab. If the crab is not fresh, shouldn't even serve it up, especially when we had another crab for obvious comparison. Other dishes were ok but the crab definitely made it a disappointing experience given how they are famous for their crabs.

We came here after a long day at Legoland. Luckily we can have a seat without booking on a Saturday evening. After viewing the recommendation dishes here, we had a fantastic meal here. Waiting home is around 30 mins and the steam fiah is marvellous! Some dishes are quite salty for us (Ee mian noodles, cold pork with garlic) . Sweet and Sour pork is great but it came spicy for us. Overall it is good experience to come.

☠️ avoid this restaurant at all costs. Look at the crab who probably was on a keto diet for the last 10 days who probably misses his flies buddies hovering around him. squid was not fresh and tasted like it was dry aged for 60 days. Service staff refused to acknowledge issue even after we paid the bill. Skip!

Not sure why my previous review is missing. Coming back for the 2nd time. This is a 老字号。simple bright reno with decent customer service. Is well, air ventilation. Was crowded and waited about 10 mins during weekend dinner. The service staff is helpful during ordering. Food is good. Price and portion not cheap but is decent. Waiting time is rather long as it is fully packed. The last time i went i tried the ice sweet and sour pork which is good. Would come back again.

Crab was sold out when we got there around 8+. Lobster was fresh; around 200rm for 800 gram - more than enough for 2 pax. Other food was decent, nothing amazing but fresh seafood and well cooked. Price was abit high.

A friend recommended this place. My family and I were very pleased overall. First, the service staff was very friendly and gave us good recommendations, including making sure that we do not over order, because everything on the menu looks so good. Ingredients were fresh, especially the seafood. The price is so reasonable, an equivalent in Singapore would have cost so much more. If you happened to be in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, give it a try! I'm quite sure you will be glad you did.

Place was packed in a Monday night! Salted egg crab was a little off today, not as per past visits, but still tasty. Due to the crowd, the dishes were only warm when served. The servers were actually running the whole night. A lot of meat dishes were sold out at 7pm, which was quite disappointing. But it is still a great and affordable place to dine at.

Fresh and good service. Ordered steamed fish (1.2kg), salted egg prawn, chillicrab and tofu for 6 pax. Cost abt SGD$90.. Staffs are polite and friendly.

Food was not too bad - seafood was fresh (we had crab and lobster)… The restaurant is open air with no aircon, but it was well ventilated (and not hot)… I believe they have and upstairs aircon area but it wasn’t open to public when I was there. But the wait was really really long, we arrived 6.30pm (with booking made) but food started to arrive only served 7.45pm to 8.15pm.. and many other tables have yet to have their food too.. Suggest to make bookings for earlier timing to beat the wait time..

It had been a few years since my last meal there. The food qlty and standard has drop. Miss out one order. Which is a blessing. Oyster is over cook. Chicken taste awful. Will not be back again

No issue waiting for at least ½ hour for the food to be served. But timing between food served is horrendous. Two last dishes came so late almost another 45 minutes later from prior dish. Poor food synchronisation. The water chestnut drink not good. Food is generally ok but nothing to shout about. Given a choice wouldn’t want to return again. Sorry.

Signature Crispy chicken is very tasty! Also enjoyed the green dragon vege very much. The black tofu was also very good and unique. Curry fish head was so so. Even though we paid for large, the meat on the head was very miserable. But the fish was tender and moist.

Lucky to spot this resto. Food is extraordinarily good. Literally all the dishes I ordered which was 6, all good. Service is exellent, the kind lady helped us pour our drinks everytime. Atmosphere is nice, fans are everywhere even if it’s outdoor area it isn’t hot. Price is quite cheap and I’m satisfied :-) Overall, this is very good

Updated review as at April 2023: The food and service quality are better. Food is delicious. Seafood is fresh. The place was flooded as early as 6pm. The food quality remains good. Staff service was good even though it was super crowded.

Place: air conditioned cum open air restaurant with ample seats that specialises in Chinese dish based cuisine (from live seafood) such as fried/steamed fish, stir fried frog (yes, 🐸), crabs, lobster, geoduck and many more. Parking can be a problem here as the parking spaces around can be filled up pretty quickly. Perhaps I came at a bad time or had to high expectations. But I standby my review and still would not think I'll be going back for any seconds. Service: fairly prompt, from the guy helping with parking to the waitress taking our orders, very efficient and helpful with suggestions. No complaints. Food: 1. Salted eggs crab: I'd say the crab wasnt the freshest and the meat was tough, likely an "old" crab I'd recon. Taste wise was ok la...considering many other competitors around, this is a let down. Verdict: 2/5. 2. Signature (flat) chicken: hmm...the most hyped dish and highly recommended by many, but the moment it reached my palate, all I felt was the hardness of the meat, the chewiness of its texture, and the lack of finesse in making this dish. It seems like an angry chef smashed a frying pan onto a perfectly cooked chicken and overcooked it. A waste of good ingredients. Verdict: 1/5. 3. Fried rice: was very salty. Otherwise, rice was cooked well. Verdict: 1.8/5. 4. Shark fin soup: one of the best dish for me here, but this is by no means a compliment. The best of the worst. Broth was fairly lacking in the flavour department and had to add many spoons of vinegar to make it eadible. Verdict: 2.1/5. 5. Squid with soy sauce: by the time I got to this dish, I had little appetite to really eat it. Nothing stood out for me in this dish. Certainly could not salvage my dinner and this review. Verdict: 2/5.

Food served under Yi Jia group has always been creative and yummy. This time, we got to try this seafood restaurant and ordered a few dishes including its popular crispy chicken. The tofu dish which was a little bland while their salted egg yolk cream and black pepper crab were a bit too sweet and very salty respectively. But overall, it was okay. Service wise was acceptable and it would be advisable to call to make reservations.

Nice and clean place. Portion is big and price is reasonable. Worth coming back. The curry fish head sauce is medium thick and not spicy. Food serving is fast too

First time dining here, ordered 4 dishes. Waitress aggressively pushing Oct Promo which was the Roasted Spring Chicken so I took it but turned out to be very disappointing. Its skin wasnt crispy at all & meat is so dry & leathery in texture, likened to biting into your leather belt or shoe. Male boss attended awhile but more of a plastic smile & lip service, dont feel he was genuine, warm nor sincere. Steamed Grouper was ok, fresh but condiments & gravy didnt wow the taste. Prime Ribs plated in icy bowl was sthg unique to the eyes but the meat was tough & not succulent. Stir fry Lotus Root wt assorted vegs was just a so-so. Seriously, not value-for-money as the pricing dont match the food quality. Premise is clean & tables are well spaced out. Waiting team was courteous & efficient. Would i return, unless Boss changed his attitude to be humble. Would i recommend, eat at your own risk.

We came here Saturday of a long weekend, it was about 1 hour waiting time. It was crowded at 8pm and our foods only served around 9pm. Although the servicing staffs are helpful, but the wait was killing us. The food quality was also a bit off compared to the last round we came during weekday. Looking forward to improvements.

I recommend their thin cut chicken slices. Others food taste moderate. Price is above average, but for their service and environment makes the prices consider normal.

What a bad first time experience with this place and never come back. Serving u cold crabs and yet the captain still argue the bottom of the plate is warm but not the sauce and crab.. Totally suspect the crab is pre-steam and just dump whatever sauce u order and leave it cold for u.

A casual dining environment. Environment seems clean and the service of the male manager who took our order was good. Food was average. The fish meat was a little disappointing as it wasn't smooth but rough and chunky. Most likely a fish reared in captive. The signature crab in salted egg sauce was one of the better dishes. Still worth a try if you're around the area.

Food is average. The only dish that is above average is the Sweet and sour fish. Paid rm89 for 6 dishes. Service is good but there were flies at the first floor tables. Would recommend going to the air con room upstairs.

Recommended by friends and came here, already aware they are more ex than average but food is supposedly very gd so came to try. Ordered oat crayfish (rm140/kg), a butter fried chicken, vege and seafood beehoon. Would say the dishes are decent not like outstanding good. May try other eateries due to pricing here.

Very spacious and clean restaurant can accommodate large group of people. See high review on google so decide to drop by here but quite disappointed and the food taste below my expectations. Mantou is not soft inside. The fried squid is not crispy. The spinach stem is very old. Very pricey. Is my first and last visit.

  • 5/5 Chan Chuan L. 1 year ago on Google
The price is reasonable, crab at RM138 per KG. Dishes come in different sizes, pretty much affordable. The iced sweet and sour pork is one of the must-try. Overall, we had a great dining experience at Yi Jia.

  • 4/5 Ke Wei T. 1 year ago on Google
Weekday dinner was less crowded, but the waiting time still take quite long. The crab was great, other dishes like la la and pork ribs in yam basket were so so. The stir fry lotus root mixed veg was definitely a no for us. Anyway, we still enjoyed the crab very much!

  • 3/5 Wong T. 4 years ago on Google
The food is okay. I find the tau fu with egg gravy a bit bland as the the flavouring especially the salt is missing. The Steam Grouper Fish with Soya Sauce is good. The rest are passable. Lots of live seafood choices ranging from lobster, giant grouper, crabs, marble goby, farmed frogs and crayfishes. Do ask for the seasonal price item before ordering. Overall food pricing is on the premium side. Parking is plentiful and the place is well lit.

5 stars good quality. As good as pre-pandemic particularly must try the 福建面 and 脆皮鸡。 Some items have prices up by 10-20% as compared to pre-pandemic time.

Seafood was impeccably fresh. Easy to Locate, service staff was prompt and attentive. Safe area with ample parking. Best dish was the latter. I’ve tried oysters even as fresh as directly harvested from a farm - but the ones this establishment got was by far the largest and freshest I had. Will be back!

My family and I enjoyed the scrumptious dinner with affordable price. We managed to get a table for 8 after waited for 5 mins. Will come back again.

Great Seafood! The salted egg crab is amazing. Sadly, the signature crispy chicken is only available at night. Would recommend the crispy pork belly too as its more amazing than most of Peking Duck!!!! And its cheaper :)
