Dishonest business, tourists please avoid! We ordered 2 plates of Normal (without requesting any add-on) ketchup wanton mee. 8 wanton were given to each serving and we thought well, RM6 for this generous portion is quite ok. But it wasn’t the case, where we had been charged RM8 per plate. We asked why RM8 and the reception responded steadily (without shocked) normal is only 4 wanton, yours were 8! The problem is that we never request of that and did mention we wanted normal serving!! Before making payment, I overheard a local aunty ordered wanton mee and request to add on wanton - logically add on have to specifically mention! It’s really unpleasant experience, even we told them no such request was given and no apology from the owner! For non local I doubt we can get used to ketchup wanton mee but it is ok to try.

Yummy Pontian Ketchup Wanton Mee 😋 We travelled a total of 55.2 km (approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes) from JB to Pontian just to have a bowl of authentic Pontian-style wanton mee with ketchup-based sauce. (Sometimes foodies really do illogical things, 😅😂🤣) We arrived before they opened their doors for business, but even so, we weren't their first customers, 🫣 I ordered the ketchup spicy variant. This bowl of wanton noodles looked enticingly clean. I loved the noodles; they were slightly thicker and had a satisfying, springy texture. They paired well with the savoury, sweet, and subtly tangy spicy sauce—it was delightful. The char siu looked dry and thin, but I enjoyed its flavour. This bowl of wanton mee also came with a serving of wanton soup, which I found a bit bland 😑 The shop is small, and during peak seasons, expect long queues. However, there's no need to worry because the preparation is very fast. They even put a label that says, "NO PHOTO," so I managed to snap a few pictures before I saw the notice, 🤭 Wanton Mee RM6.00 Otah-otah RM1.20

Ordered 1 tomato sauce and regular wan tan mee. Both taste good. The wan tan is superb. They didn't sell any coffee, so have to order our coffee from the neighbouring coffee shop.

Also tried Sin Kee on the same day. This wanton stands out due to flavour, seems to have a bit of salted fish inside. Noodles are thinner, ketchup flavour is sharper. Enjoyed their black sauce version cos it is more flavourful due to scallion oil and it's not sweet. Char siew is dry and not the main ingredient for pontian noodles. It's pretty even for me as they both have their strengths.

Huge crowd and expect to wait at least 10-15 minutes for your food. We felt the tomato wanton mee was a little overhyped - the tomato gravy was sweet and easy on the palate, but didn't blend with the noodle well. Chili flavor was pretty good, and black sauce was average. Serving size is small. Can eat at the coffeeshop beside.

Truly tomato wan tan mee, full of ketchup. I ordered a spicy version, which was not as spicy as I expected. The noodles taste average, but to my surprise, the WANTON is super delicious. It deserves 5 stars (for the wanton).

Nice noodles. Springy but different fr Hong Kong noodles. Nostalgia. The ones we used to have as kids. Char siew is nothing spectacular; the usual coloured pork. Portion is small.

Really tasty noodles and the self service Otak taste great as well. Came on a Sun morning and not much queue at 10am. Will be back for sure.

Love the unique tomato taste of the Wanton Mee and the nostalgic feel here. The char siew also taste super good- there's a special grilled/bbq/charcoal flavour to it! I also like it that we can buy their raw noodles home to cook.
