Amazing! This has been our best restaurant this year! Everything was spot on and couldn’t be better! The gin was very flavorous, beer was very tasteful, we ordered beef and cod for food, the beef medium rare is really good quality and pink in the middle, just the best! Cod is so fresh and perfectly cooked! Nothing compares with the personal touch of the owner Sam and his family; Sam and his dad greeted us personally and spend a lot of time telling us the history of the building and the family business, the stories behind different pieces of the items in the restaurant, the root tracing back to first WW.... everyone in the restaurant was extremely friendly as well!!! we couldn’t have spent the night in a better way!

Definitely recommend this brewery! Very nice owners, great beer and tapas plates. Had a very nice time on father’s day. Lovely place to sit outside and inside is also beautiful! Will definitely be back.

Beautiful beers, a brilliant host and peaceful setting, what more could you ask for! We tried all three of their beers and love them, Sam passionately talked us through them all, and told us about the area, and the building itself was beautiful. It was a pleasure being their first (known) patrons from New Zealand, and we highly recommend visiting if you're in the area and after a good brew!

The beer, food and owner were all superb. We found the place by accident and will absolutely be going again as soon as we can

We stopped off on the way back to the UK to buy some beers. We only had half an hour to spare but will definitely go back another time to spend some more time there. Sam the host was very friendly and very passionate about the beers, gluwein and gins. All three of their beers are good, we particularly liked the Amber triple. Beers are also very good value to buy so we made the most of our UK customs allowance. The bar is very nicely done with a huge fire, and there's a nice space out the front that must be nice with tables out in the summer. Only 35 mins from Calais so definitely worth a visit!

We visited this wonderful bar/brewery last week. Sam was so helpful explaining the beers and gins to us and nothing was a problem for him. We didn't eat but the sharing platters looked great. It was also interesting learning about the Patron and how to drink it with the beer. We'll certainly return next time we are around.

Fantastic tasting with Sam, who was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. Delicious beers, gins, Picon and appetizers made by Lien. Easily booked online and would thoroughly recommend visiting. Thank you, Sam and Lien!

We visited Den Gouden Arend to be able to try their own beers. The welcome was very warm and we met all of the family. The beers were exceptional. We had to return with the car to buy some beer to take home to the UK as it was so good. The home cooked food looks great and we will make a booking to be able to have dinner during our next visit.
