Koko aluehan on aivan helmi. Olemme olleet kahdesti ns omalla porukalla mutta avoimia opastuksia löytyy hyvin. People often mention visit, Alvar, Aalto, house,

Great architecture and beautiful interior but the staff is a bit rude, pushing our group out half an hour before our scheduled visit had ended. Also no interior photos allowed :(

Definitely interesting. A very good guide who told about the residents and history of the house in a nice way. I recommend.

The house is a marvellous piece of great architect Alvar Aalto but, unfortunately, people in charge are rude and very little understanding. Today, July 23, we were about 25 minutes late to our scheduled visit, which was ment to last about 40 minutes ( becuse the directions are unclear and the place is difficult to find) and we weren't allowed in, eventhough we explained we had come all the way from Spain, it was a dream for us and we begged for a little empathy. The staff told us it was their policy ( although neither had we been informed nor it is mentioned on their web). Sometimes being so strict can verge on inhumanity.

Interesting place to visit if you're interested in Aalto/Finnish architecture. Photographing inside is not allowed and the guided tour is limited to downstairs area (the house is still used for living). After the tour you can visit the outside areas by yourself or visit the gift shop. Employees are knowledgeable and keep the tour interesting. You need to reserve a tour beforehand to enter. Outside area of the Ruukki is nice to visit. Imho not a necessary thing to have on your bucket list.

Really amazing place. But we could visit only the lower floor, because the upper one is private. It is expensive. The park is so beautiful and there are many nice houses around. You need to reserve the tour in advance, we were lucky to get it the same day. There is a lunch buffe in the restaurant close by but they finish early at 14.00 as in all finish restaurants. The place looked really nice.

An architectural masterpiece, it retains a refined modernity 85 years after its design

In a couple of days, in my mind I went back to what I had seen and heard. The house was like something from a domestic film from the 60s, for example inspector Palmu...

Todella mielenkiintoinen paikka, ihana puisto täynnä koriste omenapuita. Koko Noormarkun ruukki alue on kaunis.

Villa Mairea on erittäin hyvin ylläpidetty Alvar Aallon suunnittelema rakennus mikä tarjoaa oivan näkemyksen hänen arkkitehtuuriinsa.

Nice architecture work by Aalto. Unfortunately the visit of the interior is extremely expensive (30€!).

Stunning piece of architecture and interior design of Alvar and Aino Aalto. Beautiful back garden. Dont follow the driving direction of Google Maps, which led to the closed road, but look at the arrival instruction on Villa Mairea's own website.

Incredible Finnish architecture. Built in 1939, Villa Mairea was 30 years ahead of its time in many aspects. Guided tours available several days every week!

A very unique place. A wonderful peek into Aino and Alvar Aalto's production and Maire Gullichsen's art collection. I recommend! You weren't allowed to take pictures inside, so there are no pictures to show.
