Situated right next to the lake, this venue offers delightful views of the ducks. It’s child-friendly, featuring colouring activities and a dedicated menu for children. Dogs are welcome too. The kids could run around outside within our view, quickly making it a favourite for us. A nice surprise was their own cocktail called ‘Gummy Bear,’ which is sweet and tastes like lollies. The children’s menu is well-priced and allows kids to pick and choose the ingredients for their meal. For example, our child was thrilled to assemble her burger from all the ingredients provided on her plate. On the downside, there aren’t many negatives. We arrived in time for the brunch menu but were slightly disappointed to find that Eggs Benedict was not available. Although the music was initially too loud for our group to engage in conversation, the staff were accommodating and happily turned it down upon request. Overall, it’s wonderful. A great place for school-aged kids!

Despite being short-staffed the night we went, the team at Co-op provided fantastic service. They were very welcoming and attentive. The food was lovely, great quality and generous portions but it was the cocktails that blew me away - absolutely divine! I will certainly be going back next time I am home in NZ

Disappointed this time. We dine every Christmas Eve but this year was not the best. 4 out of the 5 in our group couldn't get what we wanted as they had run out (this was at 6 pm). One meal was luke warm. We ended up going to the bar to get our own drinks. No dessert menu was offered and we were left feeling as if they wanted us to leave. On a previous visit we were also asked if we wanted coffee before we had got our meals because they wanted to clean and close the machine. Again it was only 7.30 pm. Sorry but you need to up your game. Customers should not feel they are a nuisance. The individual servers were all lovely by the way.

Dinner tonight was absolutely amazing ! We had an entertainment voucher and figured we would have a nice evening at one of our favourite locals. The food was exceptional ! The chef was debuting his new menu tonight and we happened to be the first people to try it ! We ordered our dishes and then got a bit of fomo at the sound of the curry of the day and hearing this, the chef brought us a bowl to try, on the house ! So so lovely ! We were blown away at how delicious the food was and even when full, we pushed through to finish as it was that good ! I would highly recommend trying the new menu! The food and the staff made our night ! We will certainly be back 😊😊😊

Came to the co-op for a nice family outing, they took 10mins to order our drink which is normal for a busy restaurant. By then our table of 6 all ordered with our drinks and food, after 15 minutes our drinks come out which is a bit long since they were all on tap, but again it was busy so that's ok. Then all of the food comes out except for my pizza, after another 10 minutes we ask and say that they will go and speed things up a bit a.k.a they forgot about it, 15 minutes later the pizza comes out burning hot which is better than cold. But in the end they ended up giving me it for free. The pizza was nice though and the staff were kind, we sat on a round table in the corner and the problem is that every time someone opened the door the wind blew strait through and was a bit cold. We also ordered steak which we asked for medium rare, they all came out well done. But overall still a nice local place to go.

The food and general vibe is always low key and easy going. Kids enjoy it here, It's what keeps us coming back. The service though is generally not great and sub par. You wait forever for waitstaff to serve you. Specially once you have your food, getting drinks / dessert after the main course is served is almost impossible. We generally have to walk up to the bar to try to find someone. An important note. It seems that the Sunday afternoon menu is limited. Or it was when we went. We were only able to order a few pub style menu items. We were not told of this at the time we reserved our table. We took guests, and we were very disappointed

Were friendly and accommodating with our change in booking time, however food was not the greatest. We had a mix up with the burgers and dietary requirements - all they did was change the buns on the burgers. However it meant one person did not get the meal as ordered because they got it dietary requirements wrong. Not quite the food we were expecting.

Food was overpriced and very bland. Service was ok, one staff member was lovely and helpful, the other wasn’t very friendly. The venue itself was lovely but the food was very disappointing. I had the southern fried chicken burger, it wasn’t very southern fried at all. It was dry and flavourless. Half the chips were burnt. No one came to ask us how our meal was nor did they ask at the end when we were paying.

Quick, efficient service by friendly staff. Food was well presented, tasted great, with generous portions. It's pleasantly delightful, much better than my last visit late 2022. Definitely recommend this time around 👌

Booked for 6.30pm, 20 mins later had to go to the bar and order some drinks. Waiter came over after 30 mins and took our order, food was fantastic. However waitress spilled tomato sauce all over one of us and all she did was get some serviettes. It was all over his shirt, trousers and shoes. That was the last we saw of anyone all night. Didn't bring back anymore tomato sauce, didn't check in with us. Had to go to the bar to make our dessert order, never asked if we wanted more drinks . Very disappointed.

Food was definitely improved - taste, display and portion. Enjoyed our night with live DJ playing. Good atmosphere. WOAP burger was never recommended./daily special was never been offered - Service was not what I would expected, however, giving the current tight labour market, we understand getting the right staffs or training is very difficult.

First time here and loved, seated outside area with sun streaming in and beautiful views of the lake and the staff were so friendly and delicious food will be back 😀

This was our first visit. Four people all had different meals which were enjoyed by all. Waitressing service was excellent considering the big crowd that was in. All had drinks that suited them. One couple was staying the night whilst on their way north in the morning. It was the other couples 55 wedding anniversary. We will be back!

Beautiful food, yummy cocktails and great service and atmosphere. Can even take your puppy dog into the indoor/outdoor area so impressed.

Solid effort from the team at Co-Op all round. I was in there with two other friends tonight and I ordered the BE-EF Burger (with an egg) which came with crinkle cut fries. We ordered the boneless fried chicken with Korean BBQ sauce. 1. The burger was bloody delicious, with a tasty patty that was juicy AF! My go-to of having a fried egg was a bonus for me. The milk buns were soft, yet managed the moisture long enough for me to get through most of the burger before disintegrating. This is common, so didn’t bother me. Yeah pretty stoked with this bad boy!! Crinkle cut fries are the best fries ever (FIGHT ME IF YOU DISAGREE) and these were no exception. 2. The Boneless chicken had crunch, moisture in the meat and strength in the sauce. AH-MAZ-ZING! Service was friendly and good didn’t take too long either. Luckily there was a special on which brought the burger meal to $15 which was about right for me, $20+ would have been a bit steep. This burger meal was great, but with higher quality of ingredients it would be worthy of that $20+ mark. This is why I have it a 4/5, but this place is definitely worth a visit, especially with TG1 now open it’s a breeze getting into Whitby.

Easy reservation booking. Awesome live music but maybe could start and go later. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Hoping they maintain later hours as have been closing early so haven’t chosen Coop when wanting to have a few drinks after dinner.

Great experience. Took our 8 yr old grandson for dinner. Kids menu combo was awesome. Great value for money. Tasty and large serving including dessert and drink all for $15. Our meals were very nice as well. Staff were friendly and obliging.

Food is ok but a bit over priced for what you get. I am yet to have anything that would make me come back which is what I’m always looking for in a restaurant/bar. My mates seem to love it so it’s probaby just my taste. However, service is always really good here and the restaurant has a nice look and feel to it.

Service was really great, fast and friendly. We ordered some sides and two WOAP burgers. The sides were great however the burgers were a let down. For the price, there wasn’t a lot of pork belly or apple slaw and the buns didn’t seem very fresh. Four stars because everything else was great, as it always is.

The food and service was good. The drinks were served promptly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. We all enjoyed what we ordered. I would definitely go back there again 🙂.

We had a large group last night and we enjoyed it very much. Everyone had a good time, kids especially with the door opening out to the lake. Food and drinks were very good as expected from a Christmas nenu. Nothing was too much of a trouble, well portioned meals and very nicely presented. Thank you all and specially to Caroline who looked after organizing it all, even bringing my cake. All in all it was a very nice celebration for my family and friends. Would do it again :)

Have dined here a few times and each time the food has been phenomenal and the staff's customer service is outstanding. Tonight we had a family dinner, 24 of us the waitresses and waiters were very pleasant to deal with the chef gave us complimentary entrees. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the outdoor area is breath taking, the view makes it that more special. They also have heaters to keep warm while eating in the outdoor area.

Food was nice, it is pretty consistently so. It wasn't overly busy the last few times we have visited but we've struggled to get consistent service. The waiting staff has forgotten to come back and take food orders, or check on the table which means we're relying on calling other staff over to get drinks etc. Nothing major, but we used to eat relatively regularly at the Co-Op but the difficulty in getting consistent service has us looking elsewhere.

Visited on a Wednesday night, the special burger and fries for $15 is a really neat idea. Two of us ordered the Southern Chicken burger and it did not disappoint. Entrees we ordered were fries, squid and boneless chicken pieces, Korean flavour. The chicken pieces are great and were loved by most of our party. Great service and welcoming staff. They also were helpful to our various requests.

We love the Co-op, however at this booking (11.30am for lunch), it took more than half an hour for our orders to be taken, and only then because we asked to order. It then took another 50 minutes for the first of our meals to start coming out, so after 1pm by the time we were all eating. Far too long to wait, especially with young children in our group!

Great place if your just wanting to pop in for a couple drinks. The food itself is ok but quite over priced in my opinion. Got the beef burger which cost $28. The buns were a bit stail but the fillings were good. The place itself has a great atmosphere with an indoor/semi outdoor flow. The service here is also good too.

Stopped in here as we had a deal to use (buy one main get another free) even with that deal, our two meals and two non-alcoholic drinks were over $50. For that price I would be hoping for something pretty amazing but it was just average. On the menu, the steak listed mentions you should ‘let the server know if you prefer fries’. We presumed this meant the fries replaced the potato gratin but didn’t expect it also replaced the vegetables described. Would be good to confirm with customers that if they swap for fries, they are swapping both the gratin and the veges - not just the gratin.

Ok missed the added bacon and it came out half cooked. Everything else was great 👍

Almost there! Great kitchen/food. I would suggest you work on a system for handling customers. Logical questions should be asked in terms of service. We had to steal cutlery from other tables after we had been served food as an example. Look, not hard to fix and please don't think I'm writing this place off, I'm certainly not but work to do is all. I'd return just to see if positive service improvement is made.

I’ve been a fan of this restaurant for so long but Im not sure why the quality of food significantly change to worst. New chef maybe? They should at lest taste the food before serving or change the name because it’s misleading. I ordered korean boneless chicken but I received chicken pieces drenched in a very sour red sauce. It looks like Korean fried chicken but tastes like Tom Yum 😂. Really disappointing, I should’ve get fries instead, surely they can get it right .

Was surprised given how cheap mussels are to buy to get 10 for a main . You need to have a wider range of none alcohol beer . Time to remove you COVID message . 2 friends with me had BAO buns and were very happy with their food
