My wife ordered a curry from here today which was too salty. She called them and asked kindly if they could replace with the curry and use less salt (eatable) . Manager was so rude and said she has to pay for it again. However she agreed to pay again. When she went back with the old container. Behind the counter, gentle man (maybe owner) explained their sauce is salty so they can’t replace it basically they didn’t change the curry.. Poor wife told him that we are not new to this place we always dine here and aware that their sauce is not salty always. They just refused to give replacement. Very disappointed about appalling behaviour of man behind the counter!! That’s how they treat their customers!!! That’s how they turn their customers away!

We ordered Tikka Masala, Garlic Chilli Chicken and two naans to go Friday evening. But there was no naan for missing orders and we checked it at home. When I called the store, they apologized for the mistake and delivered it directly to my house. Their service was really good.👏 But in fact I was already happy to taste the food before they showed this service 😜 It's really good food !! and naan was chewy and savory and the most delicious naan I've ever eaten 👍 (Please note that curry oil is on all parts of the packaging container.)

My family and I have lunch here very often on Saturdays. We love it. The food is delicious and portions are very generous :) Service is excellent. The staff is one of the best in Wellington, very friendly, nice and helpful. It's one of the few places where you can eat what you expect, like my child and I, being unable to eat spicy food, they serve us very mild meals. Beautiful set-up, nice location next to shops. Parking can be accessed on the street. It's just perfect for families with children, small or large groups.

Went with some friends and ordered mango chicken. Wasn’t happy with the four pieces, yes a whole four piece for $20 not that big either, for that amount I could have made at home with some left overs so won’t go again.

Went here on a monday night. They were not busy so food came out very fast. The flavors were great. Nice a d friendly waiters. The place has good ambience. 10 of us and we had a good time here. Maybe the toilets can do with a do-over. This was the only let down.

I usually enjoy meals from here but tonight I was very disappointed. Ordered Chicken Jalfrezi and was surprised when it arrived. It literally looked like they'd thrown their leftovers into the container. It was tasteless, which is unheard of for Indian meals. The chicken looked like it was leftover tandoori. The best part of the meal was the delivery.

Recently ordered a butter chicken, lamb korma and three garlic nans. Terrible experience, both curries were more like a soup and contained minimal meat. All three nans were burnt. For almost $60 you'd expect better. Curry village was once my go to, so not sure why this time around the food was so bad. Emailed them to give them an opportunity to rectify the situation but receive no response. Wont be going here again.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Lady at the front counter has no manners and is incredibly rude. I called her asking for availability and all she said was yes and hung up the phone. This is not the first time she has done this. Get better staff!

Disappointing. I did few indian restaurants before in Wellington and I think the owner changed because when I see the rate a year ago and today what I ate, It's not possible. The quality choice of the meat and fish product is the mistake of this restaurant. The fish was like a chicken, really hard, and the beef really greasy like plastic sensation in the mouth. To finish, when we told them we were frustrated and disappointed, they just answered: thank you for your feedback. I can't advise to go this place, even if the waiters/waitress were friendly and the sauce of the meal was good and tasty.

We have always used Curry Village in the past as our preferred local Indian takeaways but we have not ordered for some time - not sure if new chef or owners however we ordered x 4 butter chicken as takeaways, roti, deep fried mushrooms and spring rolls - the butter chicken was not particularly creamy and was completely spoilt by some over powering fragrant aromatic taste, we received burnt Nairn bread instead of roti - the deep fried mushrooms were not whole but a small serving of very small sliced mushrooms and the spring rolls were unremarkable- very disappointing and a waste of money - I did call the store to advise these things - we will not be ordering from Curry Village again.

We ordered 3x Vegan curries with rice, roti, Onion Bhaji, and Pakora. All delicious! Perfect for leftover dinner the next day too! Highly recommended to all! And great to have vegan option in Porirua.

Service was a little slow and we had to wait a while to have someone come and take our drinks order despite being the only people in the whole restaurant. Food was really good though and definitely made up for it! Would go back again.

Order was compleyely wrong and one item leaking blamed the driver but clearly the lid wasn't on, not the drivers fault. Sent chicken dishes when we ordered vegetarian.

Got chicken korma and a butter naan by Delivery Easy. Really good curry. Nicely hot (kiwi hot) nice flavourful spices. Naan bread was huge, more like 2 naans from other places. Very tasty and happy to recommend.

I always try to come here whenever I’m in Porirua. It was here that I first fell in love with Malai Kofta, but all the dishes I’ve tasted from Curry Village have been wonderful. The balance of spices is best-in-class. Don’t let the modest appearance fool you. You won’t find better tasting Indian food in NZ.

Very disappointed. I made booking beforehand for 4 people, to celebrate my youngest son's 19th birthday. We were astounded when the waitress asked to see my son's ID. He's 6 foot 3 with a full beard and most certainly does not look under the legal drinking age. He didn't bring his wallet with because it wasn't necessary. Both my husband and I were really annoyed. We are a decent, respectable family, not a bunch of rowdy students who could potentially be under age drinkers. This was meant to be a birthday dinner for our son. My husband left us at the restaurant, drove home and got some ID for my son, drove back to the restaurant and showed it to the waitress so that she could bring him the Corona that he ordered. The manager then came to the table and asked to see his ID again, making us feel like we were being deceitful in some way. By this time our evening was ruined, and we just wanted to eat our curry and leave. But, to top it off the Lamb Hyderabad that we ordered didn't even have lamb - it was beef! Such an utterly disappointing experience. We will never return.

This place absolutely needs to be appreciated as one of Porirua top eat in or takeaway restaurants. Lovely staff, who are super polite to the point where they open the door for you - you don’t see that often nowadays. I hate to be real western about my choice of curry but they really do make a delicious butter chicken. Their garlic naan is yummy too. Other thing I really appreciate is they provide you with takeaway bags, paper bags my memory serves me right.

What a treat this place is! I ordered a standard lunch butter chicken & garlic naan. It was outstanding!! The portion size for curry & rice was generous. The naan was however a little on the smaller size. The butter chicken was one of the best I have tasted. I highly recommend this place for an exceptional curry 10/10

Bit unfortunate that our time at Curry Village wasnt all the best. Was just upset it took an hour and a half to get our meal out to us, we were the first in and first served. other customers came in, ordered, sat down and ate then left even before we got our meal. We were a small group of 6 people. Food was OK, wasnt hot like it had just been cooked, may of been sitting for a while.. Was just disappointed in the time it took for food to come out.

I as dinner with friends here, not very busy, but still warm and cheerful on a cold winter night. Be careful about asking for hot - their meals will certainly deliver! They also do a great mango lassi if you find your palate doesn't match your bravado! The chef made a special vegetarian curry for our friends - would love to see that on the menu as it was superb (the other dishes were excellent also). Together with BYO wine, and some lovely beers, it was altogether a great night - and plenty of left-overs for lunch the next day.

Had the chicken tikka masala, lamb balti, beef jaipuri with garlic naan, rice and mango lassi. Curries were tasty, however the medium spice was quite spicy, which usually is an indication that chilli powder was just added to the curry at the end. The garlic naans were really nice. Mango lassi was pretty good, however quite pricey at $6.50. Service was really good, with a warm welcome and regular check ups to make sure we were happy. Not sure it’s the best Indian, but if you want a decent meal that’s moderately priced, you can’t go wrong.

Curry in my tummy, ooh baby, is this store a treat! Usually pass on the curry but the rogan josh I had can safely make its way into my favourites books and am definitely coming back.
