This place really let down our family holiday, the rooms were quite rough around the edges e.g dirty light switches, patches of scratched paint on door frames/walls and dirty pavement when entering your room. The reef resort villas did not meet the standards represented on online. Never ever want to come here again! Everything felt disgusting!!!!! Nothing was hygienic or sanitary. DONT STAY HERE!!

Stayed at privately owned villa 76 (not part of the resort) and had an amazing time. Beautiful spot overlooking the creek and golf course, close to the pool. Fully renovated villa with an amazing kitchen and hammock to relax in 😊

Booked via Booking.com a Deluxe Villa. Great communication initially via Jodi Facilities looked amazing then...Villa is ready Told to drive out of resort. Find a hidden drive way (pothole ridden, muddy, gravel road) in a more residential setting. Found the Villa, so disappointed I thought it was a joke. Dirty, old scratched up, worn and far from Deluxe. Call straight away and Jodi basically blamed Booking.com. wording, need to update advert. Messaged Booking.com. will give feed back to facility. Will not use Booking.com again. Will not go back to Reef resort Villas (not one nearer town). Felt ripped of and 5 night stay was not worth the near $1400

Honestly please do not waste your money at this place. It was outrageously expensive for the quality . The reception lady was rude and snarky . We saved for months as a family to come away and this place was terrible . People live permanently at this place and as a result there is other peoples belongings lying around outside places . broken toys , old bbqs , kids scooters etc . When we pulled up for the first time 4 little kids ( maybe 7 or 8 ) with no parents anywhere to be seen were outside our door asking for food ? The rooms were filthy , not proper lighting , dark and dingy . doors rusty and dusty .. The upstairs tv didnt work. The carparks barley fit a car in them without denting the doors when you open them... Absoluetly gutted we wasted our money here.

Nice pool, rooms good. Halfway to town. Can walk 20mins or catch local shuttle

Just left here after the Thursday night Parma Night. Cannot believe the place wasn’t full. Best Parma in town by a mile! Freshly cooked unlike some others who pre-cook during the day. $20 on Thursdays! Service was nice too. Do yourself a favour.

Upon check in we were met by a middle aged woman in tight denim shorts (no judgement), who was more interested in chatting with her coworker than greeting us. We asked about the buffet breakfast advertised on the A-frame stand right outside of the lobby, only to be told that they don’t serve breakfast at the moment. It’s a public holiday long weekend but whatevs. Arriving at the room we realised the shower didn’t work, and the batteries were all flat in the remote controls for both the TV and stereo. Tired as we were we thought we’d order in-room dining as advertised in the room. We contacted the restaurant who advised they were too busy to deliver but that we could come and collect. Natty. As coincidence would have it, the lady with a penchant for tight denim delivered the news. We collected meals from the near empty restaurant shortly thereafter. The next morning we explained the shower and battery situation to denim. She provided batteries and advised that the shower was broken (ground breaking), and that the shower knob needed to be lifted and moved a certain way to get water. Nice villas but the resort is dated, unloved, and the staff appear a little too chilled to be overly concerned with their guests.

uncomfortable beds. The mattresses need to be changed. You woke up with pain all over your body, especially your back and legs, and I even woke up with red hips because they were so hard. I couldn't wait to leave this place and be able to rest. They have a restaurant. but they don't open for breakfast. For dinner, if there are no people, they close at 6 pm and do not open on the weekend. The apartment itself needs renovation, very old, the air sounds super harsh and there were cockroaches, they annoy me so it was difficult for me to cook there.

After reading the reviews on the reef resort hotel, I can agree with the other 1 star ratings. Where do I begin.... no oven, no insect blinds on the doors, no barbecues, fridge doesn't work, dirty old and run down. Fans filthy, lacking on Anthing to cook with, alot of road noise and drunk locals shouting and singing by the pool at half past 5 in the morning. Entrance to the place is like an old goat track, PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY AND SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. complete waste of time, will go out of my way to make sure people don't stay here after our encounter.

Good value, nice pool. Just be prepared & bring everything you'll need (hand soap, paper towel, glad wrap, toilet paper). They provide laundry powder but it's useless. Tour busses come hurrying through from 7am, so not the place to stay if you're wanting to sleep in and lounge about. We were out exploring everyday, so didn't affect us, but definitely noticed tour drivers aren't considerate coming through here.

Everything at your door step. Our room is perfect. The pool & restaurant is amazing. Shuttle bus when you need it. Can’t fault anything. We are very fussy with cleanness etc and this place is perfect. Hot chips by the pool. Amazing menu and the cocktails are refreshing. You won’t regret it.

The pool was the only good thing I can say about this "resort". Outdated units in desperate need of maintenance and cleaning. The beds hard the pillows flat like sleeping on rocks. No useful kitchen items like a salad bowl or a platter of any description. No sugar to go with the the teabags/ coffee only 2 toilet rolls for 6 adults for 7 days? A long way from the beach or the main village. Don't waste your money here it's really terrible.

I booked this place for a client arriving from interstate ... Here is her feedback "It didn't start well trying to check in. Reception was unattended, and was told by another person who apparently lives there, this is quite normal. No-one answered the fone outside reception, ended up calling another number and the woman was quite rude. I had been dropped off by a shuttle at reception but had been put in a villa on the other side of the resort. There was no-one around to help me with my bags and I would have had to leave some belongings unattended in order to walk thru the resort into the attached smaller side of resort, which was a long way. In the end I had to call a cab to take me on the main road to the opposite side of resort. The villa I stayed in was ok. It was fairly clean, but was very basic, with hardly any amenities. I never understand why places like this are under equipped. The reason you book an apartment with a kitchen is so that you can cook. However, the kitchenware provided is sparse. One scratched frypan, 1 small pan or 1 large stockpot (?) 1 serving bowl, 1 cooking tray. Yep, that's about it. Zero pantry essentials ie. Salt / pepper / olive oil. It took me 2 days to get the wifi code which was included in my welcome envelope and with no-one answering reception it became annoying and difficult given I was in town for business. I wouldn't book again. There is basic and then there's basic"

Luckily we booked privately at villa 76 villa was awesome the only reason I write this is that I was spoken to extremely rudely by Jodie at the non existent pool bar which is falsely advertised I rang to speak to the manager and she said she is it so here we are Really this should be a 1 star review but I spoke to the owners of the villa we stayed in out of fairness it's a 3 for there sake Food from the restaurant was extremely poor and yet again Jodie strikes with no offer to make it right basically saying great place poor service and staff saying yet again after she was intentionally insulting to the point where other patrons Looked over like 😒 wow

We were pleased with our room and location, due to unforeseen circumstances got upgraded which was nice, but the upgrade meant sacrificing Netflix and less comfortable beds. The other room had both.

Old, outdated accomodation and furniture. We have stayed here 3 times now but the place is falling behind and we won't be back. Most of the villas appear to be owned by retirees who are permanent residents. It's more of a retirement village now than a resort.

My small family stayed here for two nights recently. The townhouse/apartment was great, very clean, nice and comfortable furnishings, air-conditioning and ceiling fans throughout and plenty of space. There were a few reasons I didn't give it 5 stars. The first reason is that we were only supplied one tiny shampoo and conditioner and two small face soaps for 5 people. I feel like they should have provided at least two of each and a bar of soap each, we shouldn't have to go and ask for more on a 2 day stay. Second reason is that the first morning we were woken up by drills at 8am, as there were maintenance works going on. This may be fine for a lot of people on holiday who wake up early to go explore, however we personally would like a little sleep in on holiday. I feel guests should be informed before arrival of possible early morning wake ups. There was no noise the second morning though. Third reason was the wifi. You were only allowed to use 2GB per day, and then $10 per GB after. A lot of other places have free unlimited wifi, and I feel for the price you pay and the likelihood of them paying for/ having an unlimited wifi service, that should be provided. Overall though it was a great stay and the kids enjoyed the pool and the adults enjoyed the space to relax.

Lovely resort. Our villa was lovely, clean and well equipped. The TV also has Netflix. The fridge was slightly small for the size of the villa. The showers/bathrooms were lovely and a good size. Good washing machine and dryer. Beds are comfortable. The pool is gorgeous, kids loved the waterfall and cave. The wading pool was perfect for our two year old. Lots of seating areas. And the pool bar/restaurant is fantastic, we had the eye fillet and it was absolutely amazing! It's a shame the resort seems to have been cut in half so the second pool, BBQ area and playground is no longer accessible. We loved the other pool on our last visit in 2017 and we did miss not having a playground available. Easy few minute drive into the main area in Port Douglas and 5 minutes out to the wildlife habitat. We love the location. And it's very quiet at night.

Was here August 2022. The accomadation in seemed very "tired" with accumulated dust around doorways, loose wall fittings, light fittings showing wiring, fridge door was worn and dirty hand marks on it, which came off with soapy cloth! The gym area had broken equipment. The gardens around the site were in need of attention with litter left. Overall there seemed to be a lack of maintenance / cleaning staff. The restaurant wasn't open until Wednesdays. I could go on but I won't. The pool area was ok though.

Had a lovely relaxing stay. Pool area was great, excellent food and very friendly service, the rooms are just a bit outdated but nice and clean, could do with a refresh.

Smoke alarms went off at 1:30am & again at 2am on the 1st night on our 7 night stay. We were given a button to hush them in case it happened again, but for $350/night this shouldn't happen at all. Property management should invest in better quality smoke alarm systems that are not affected by humidity (especially in FNQ!!). Cot hired for $10 per night was a portacot, which was not communicated upon booking & not comfortable for our 18 mo child. Our apartment (#47) was in need of some maintenance, there was a hole in the wall just above the light switch, many lights didn't work, door frames had chipped paint, walls were grubby, dust on window ledges, lamps, blinds etc. & stereo/TV set up was messy with wires everywhere. Appreciate it is the high season & this was a 2 br apartment, but the quality of this apartment was quite underwhelming for the price. I could see maintenance being done on other apartments within the resort, so this could be a work in progress for them but be warned, this doesn't have the same resort feel as it is occupied by lots of residents. However the pool areas were great and was great to have shallow ends for small children to paddle, staff were friendly and did their best to help in difficult situations.

Our stay was great but very disappointed in the restaurant. The meals were overpriced for what they were, 2 of our meals didn’t come with the described fresh vegetables, instead they came with frozen vegetables, the price didn’t match the quality of food

Stay and pool was great. Restaurant super disappointing, food ok but our 2 waitresses just wanted us gone so they could leave. It was only 7pm. Didn't offer dessert, or refund the money for the juice they didn't have. Turned lights out, locked doors and left dishes outside.

Our rooms where very grubby including the floors, fridge, and sinks. There was food remnants stuck on the tiles indicating they were neither vacuumed or washed thoroughly. Grotty hand prints were all over the fridge doors which I scrubbed off. The sheets appeared clean however the other bed covers had what resembled other peoples body fluids crusted on to them. These along with other similar issues were reported at check out and and an email sent detailing further cleanliness issues. There has been no response from management. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere.

Room was acceptable. Pool was lovely. Fridge was turned off and as a result all our food spoiled. Gym was dangerous- tread mills broken and the gym generally unkempt. Advised guest services via email and nil to little concern was given.

What a lovely cosy little place, 2 couples in my entourage and had plenty of space and comfort for a reasonable price. Highly recommend! Nice pool, nice staff and nice rooms.

Lovely place. All these Resorts are about using their facilities. Need a car to get to main Street Macrossan Avenue. Dined in their restaurant and chefs meals were well presented and priced. Pleasant enough service without being outstanding. Rooms were generous size and having second full bathroom downstairs was a bonus.

Our villa at No. 18 was clean and spacious with an excellent internal laundry, quiet position and close to the pool, bar and restaurant. Shuttle buses run regularly to town which is about a 5 minute drive. Some facilities in the resort are closed off for general use which is a bit disappointing but the pool is lovely and the staff very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend for families with young children
