Stayed at the apartment rooms. The apartment is large and perfect for a family with the necessary things that you’d require. The apartment is located right infront of the pool, so this is perfect if you fancy a swim. It is also close to the spa, so if you wanted to use any of those facilities that also includes a gym, steam room and another pool then this is perfect. The staff members make you feel welcome and are proactive when a guest requires something. The buffet breakfast has a lot of options to choose from, so you it’s difficult to be fed up of what’s on offer. It is located in a corner that is separated from Caudan, however you can get to the other side by using a water taxi that takes only 20 seconds. The facilities are clean and wherever you are on the premises, you feel comfortable. There’s a restaurant on site too.

We had a wonderful one night when Air Mauritius had issues. Staff were woken or brought in to serve us dinner at 11:30pm and were just great! Facilities were great, located close to the city and tourist markets

Went there for a small celebration, table was already booked a week ago. When we got there nobody knew about the existing reservation. They called their so called manager who was not welcoming at all!! We were then told that we are not allowed to cut the cake we brought, which we were not aware at all since nobody mentioned it when we made the reservation. Once we started to order, the servers kept coming back to tell us that some of the appies we ordered were not available, she did that for 3 of the items while the menu wasn’t the greatest at all. We ordered desserts but Caramel sauce came when we were almost finishing it. I am giving a 1 star cause there’s no option as no star at all. We would never recommend this place and would definitely never go back!! Maybe train your staff properly!! Worse experience ever!!

Nice and cosy. Water taxi and fish in the yacht port give to the place a very special atmosphere. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Waterfront is just crossing with the water taxi. Repeated my stay already 6 times (on business)

Thank you Le Suffren for looking after myself and my colleagues for 3 weeks. We came for work and the hotel and people were very friendly and hospitable. Good variety of food every day and good friendly service. Awesome pools, decent gym and nice and close to Le Caudan. Right by the water front and Central for anything in Port Louis. Highly recommended for business trips.

Fantastic hotel, staff are amazing. Only 2 things I picked out from staying here and they are 1) the choice of food - if you don’t like seafood and don’t eat enough to justify spending money on a buffet (that’s also mainly rice or seafood) then the choices are limited. 2) it’s on a marina (which as we know pull in a lot of rubbish from the sea) although this isn’t there responsibility I feel the people driving the taxi boat with quite a bit of downtime could help to clean up a beautiful country by pulling out some of the floating plastic. Overall a great experience and we would definitely chose Le Suffren again! :-)

I do not stay at Le Sufren, but I go regularly to the restaurant for dinner. The service is good but the wine list is not what one can expect from this type of restaurant. I have found that they run low on their stock and thus one is obliged to buy the expensive ones. Customers like me will in the long run not buy wine by the bottle and its a shame.

In general,i had a great time there. Unfortunately, the food was👎. I ordered for chicken burger but got beef burger on my table. Even the waiter were not aware of the menu and hence could not give adquate information. However, had a nice time at the spa.

The overall experience was great. You're always greeted with smiles at reception, the restaurant and most of the pink socks bar (staff are friendly and smiling, managers should learn to do the same). Special thanks and kudos to Owen, Ravin, Tessa, Romain and Jordy for their professionalism and friendliness. They made my stay comfortable and enjoyable, ask for them if you visit! I will definitely go back in 2023

Nicely decorated hotel which well reknown for its Friday's Happy Hour. It's an ideal place to grab a drink after work and chill around with some friends. However the place seems understaff during peak times and thus customers get penalised with a slow service.

All the staff were super helpful and friendly but still professional. There is a taxi boat (2 minutes ride) that was available whenever we wanted to cross the inlet to get to shops, restaurants & the centre of Port Louis. Great gym. Massages were excellent, and pedicure was perfect. All very reasonable price. Get a Mai Thai - soo good

Overall Ok. Service from staff was sufficient. Hotel was often out of items on their menu. Transportation across the marina (boat) was often broken down. Hotel would provide a shuttle van - but it was often lacking in availabilty. Breakfast is said to be ready at 630 - often the full menu was not available until 730. So if you're staying for business - would recommend elsewhere

The spring festival buffet last night was not great. The peking duck which should have been the highlight was disappointing. I would qualify the food last night as “buffet from cheap hotel”, best food there was the watermelon. Too bad we made the wrong choice and came to this buffet. Atleast the place is beautiful…oh and seen a cockroach near the sofas 👍

Beautiful hotel. Not on the beach side, but the water created excellent views. The service was very friendly and staff were responsive. The water taxi was quite delightful. Wished I could have stayed longer. The plant & sugarcane bottles were the highlight of my stay.

We came in to spend a beautiful evening with our family and friends and we weren’t disappointed. We were lucky to be served by a smiling team and the food was delicious. Thanks Sailesh, Leia & El Kachi for an amazing service.

Did not overnight so cannot give info regarding rooms. Restaurant looks nice. The snack bar menu is not bad at all. Food is very nice, heard a few plates crashing, but I guess these things happen sometimes.. Service was a little slow. We had to ask for the wine menu a couple of times. My take : a cosy place, taking the ferry/shuttle boat makes it special. At night the lights around create a nice ambiance.

Rooms are pleasant. The shower wasn't too clean though. Fresh towels everyday. There is air conditioning. Decent working space, comfy beds and pillows. Beautiful view of the marina. The service at the sushi bar and outside bar isn't great. Breakfast at the restaurant is the exact same everyday with not much variety. Very far from the closest beaches. Getting a taxi on 2 occasions, driver arrived late. It's a very close walk to the waterfront which has so many restaurants to choose from and some decent stores to shop at.

The hotel is a bit dated and needs a renovation. Our bathroom had mold in and loose screws. The staff was really friendly and attentive, especially Samir. It has a great view of the harbor

Lovely hotel with beautiful evening views over the marina, and within walking distance of the city centre and malls. The restaurant food was excellent (big fan of their sushi which was freshly prepared once ordered). The gym was excellent, featuring modern equipment. There was live music on the terrace a couple of evenings during my stay which was very enjoyable. The rooms were slightly dated, but the service was truly excellent. For example, I noticed a few days into my stay that a quadrant of the huge TV's backlight wasn't working, so I thought I should inform them of this, but told them not to worry as I wasn't watching any TV. The very next day, after returning from a workshop, they had replaced the television. And after returning home to London, I discovered that I had left one of my shirts and cuff-links hanging in the cupboard, both had sentimental value. I got in touch with the hotel and they very kindly arranged to ship them back to the UK (for a postage fee of course). Throughout the process, the entire team were helpful, reassuring and kind. And I received my shirt within a few days. Definitely a hotel I will return to just for the service!

Stayed from 23rd until 25th. The name is quite apt. U pay through your nose to 'sufferin' in this hotel. Rooms are OK but very pricy. My price was 320 eur per night and no breakfast included. My colleague who paid the same, got breakfast included. When I took it up with the reception staff, they didn't bother to change it or even explain. It was a bourgeois attitude. Something I will take up with the travel agent. Also the toilets don't have health faucet or bidet. Just abrasive toilet paper. I hate those. The View from the restaurant and the room is good. Breakfast (BTW which I paid at 890rs (Mur) per day) has no changes from day to day. Same menu everyday. It's extremely boring and not worth it. I didn't bother to go out for breakfast since my colleague has breakfast included in his room charge. The Staff ask ur room number 5-6 times during your breakfast. It's very annoying and doesn't make u feel welcome. Overall service is meh. Water bottles being charged >100rs (Mur) for 750ml. Better to buy outside at less than half the price. Mostly French people coming and that's the clientele the hotel caters to. Other people won't find the hotel to their liking.

Been there for a business lunch... The Mauritian buffet is a very interesting treat... Otherwise the other cuisines are not that memorable... The team are very welcoming. I would like to thank specially Ms Navelli who is always welcoming and does her best to make us feel comfortable :)

Went for Breakfast on Friday 07/12/21. The manager a lady by name of Valina or Marina and her collègue Selena were the most helpful. They went out of their way to ensure we had the best tables to accommodate 2 babies, they were extremely polite and nothing was too much. Dealt with our small complaint about cold food promptly. Great service was provided. Venue superb, shame buffet service not available due to Covid. Will definitely visit again.

When I booked table for 2 families in restaurant. I asked if boat shuttle is operational and the answer was YES. When we arrived at the jetty I call the reception twice and again I have been told that the boat is operational. After 30 minutes we left. I get phone call shortly after that minibus is by the jetty to pick us up! We could just drove to the hotel, but for kids it would be much more exciting to take a boat. Why the staff have to lie ?? Very disappointed

Nice Hotel. The rooms are nice and cozy. Went with friends and it was an enjoyable moment. Staff members are very friendly, helpful and polite. Amenities are good, heated pool is warm enough to be relaxing and cold enough to be energizing. Food is great. Bar staff are really friendly

The place is relaxing and comfy, waiters are well mannered, only thing is that drink servings are too little. Always have to take 2 shots at a time. They really need to be more generous on the drink serving quantity.

The food quality at the Pom de Mat restaurant on Tuesday night - 12/10/21 - was unfortunately very bad and was not up to the standards at Beachcomber. One of our guests at the dinner, a magnanimous well-known figure in the national and international communication industry Including hospitality, had to call on the Chef to make a status of the situation and we all provided our feedbacks that we hope shall be considered in the near future.

After an inauspicious start to our stay, we arrived at the hotel at 4am and we weren't checked in until after 6am, the night clerk having gone awol, we settled in to a decent breakfast before a well earned morning nap. Our airline(the always confused KQ) changed our arrival time from 1pm to 2am so we had to pay for an extra night so as to be able to enter our room upon our arrival. We had considered getting an airport hotel but the thought of a double hop seemed more trouble than it was worth. We had a "garden view" room which in reality was just a patch at the backside of the hotel the more interesting view being that of the mountains surrounding the capital in the background. Given that all the activities for the hotel take place at the front this was not a bad thing and we enjoyed relative quiet. The rooms were well laid out and were comfortably sizable. The only downside was the smell of cigarette smoke that would permiate from neighbouring rooms at certain times of the day. Service at the hotel was generally good though we found the limitations around when one could have meals, lunch 12:00-2:15pm only, to be at odds with a holiday program, especially if you had a late breakfast. We couldn't establish whether this was the normal program or just part of of the new year timetable where even ordering from the menu required checking with the chef as to whether that particular item was on offer that day. Ordering food and drinks at the poolside required the guest to go and place the order at the main bar which was a nuisance, and again one can't be sure if this was how it normally works or just a limitation for the time of year. The staff with a few exceptions were extremely amiable and the reception team, sans check in, were particularly accommodating affording us a late checkout which went some way to making up for the first day shenanigans. The location of the hotel right next to the citys' waterfront area meant that one could explore many dining and entertainment options. The hotels' free water taxi service was particularly handy in this respect.

We wanted to have some food today. Unfortunately, when we arrived after breakfast (Approx. 10am), the barman told us lunch would start at 1230PM. We asked if we could sit on the beach and have a drink, and he said yes, but no one came to serve us. We waited sometime before deciding to leave to go to a café across the water instead. The shuttle operator told us, ''we do not do excursions,'' which I found very rude as we did not owe him any explanations for our short visit.

Such a lovely hotel. Its clean, has delicious food, wonderful& attentive staffs and amazing view. Upon arrival, provides rapid PCR tests and they clean the dining area all the time. Your also able to cross to the main part of port Louise with the little boat and it’s fun.

Please check the bedbug before you going to bed!! There was a bedbug in the room. When I catched the bug, it has a blood..... 🤮. We found other bugs on the bed as well. Hotel directly change the room but it was smaller than I booked. They told to us that we can change the room on next day but they didn't change the room. Additionally, we didn't have any apologies from the hotel. Staff said that 'We don't know where it comes'. I disappointed with the irresponsible response of the staffs. I wasted all the night to steam my clothes!! It was horrible night.

Booked for a weekend getaway. Got a room on ground floor. The noise was unbearable in the morning. Doors smashing/ banging. Don’t know if it came from the housekeeping or other guests. But it happened two mornings in a row.. It’s a shame that you can’t order sushi and eat at pink socks. Only” snacks” allowed. Funny thing is the table was next to the other tables at pomme de Mat restaurant outside. FYI, Sushi is not fine dining or not meant to be eaten as a main course only or whatever. Next time separate your menus instead of putting the same QR code in all restaurants. Service was ok, food not bad. At least better than la brasserie chic at labourdonnais.

Good to visit with friends on Fridays, It's fun with bands. "Happy hours".

  • 4/5 Pete E. 1 year ago on Google
A pleasant hotel to stay in. The rooms were comfortable - the beds especially. I slept well here. It is not quite the standard and vibe of its partner, Labourdonnais that I usually stay at across the water, noticeable difference in class but it’s pleasant enough. The breakfast and evening buffet were a reasonable spread. Not amazing but decent enough. There is also a Sushi bar if you’re into that as well as an outside bar area which is nice in the evening when music entertainment is on. The small pool area is great to chill by. You are right next to docks so there is a slight hum during day but nothing majorly off putting. The Spa is well worth it and I always grab a massage when staying here. Very relaxing. Attached to spa is a decent gym. Staff were friendly overall, some were more helpful that others but I didn’t find it had the vibe or professionalism of the Labourdonnais. The hotel also just lacks the soul of its counterpart. Also - a side note - the jellyfish in tanks above sushi bar seems a little cruel.

Hello Was at suffren last month for a night stay ( booking made through marideal). The welcome was nice by the people on reception However, we had a huge issue concerning the room ! On booking, we precised a high floor room but we were offered a room on ground floor. The receptionist, laura, was very hesitant at the start but after repeatedly telling her that we precised on the booking for a high floor room and nothing was prepared!! she told us she would do the necessary. We waited for 1 hour for that and thus wasted a whole hour from our stay. Furthermore, No one even accompanied us to the room. we had to look for it on our own and thus wasted more time ! On reaching the room, there was only one peignoir and one slipper despite having booked a room for two. Secondly ,the towel on the bathtub was dirty ! We had to call someone to change it thus wasting more time ...! However, The staff from ispa were very nice. The pool was nice too except that the jacuzzi and the pressure flow stopped suddenly. At night, we were disturbed by someone who knocked at the wrong door at around 9 pm ! Then in the morning we had breakfast where no one welcomed us nor directed us how to prooceed. However the food was nice especially the croissant . That despite paying the same amont we felt that separation in serving Mauritians and other non Mauritian clients, especially during breakfast. The check out went smoothly though

Whilst I haven’t been a resident of the hotel, I have tried their Suffren-on-the-Go service. I ordered some food at around 11am for a delivery time of 12.20pm and paid the extra fees for delivery. By 12.30pm, I received no update and called the restaurant and was told that they did not do delivery…when I stated that I had paid for that option, they said they would look into it and get back to me. I waited a further 20minutes and was still not contacted and had to have the same conversation again with someone else at the restaurant who then actually did contact me and said the restaurant did no delivery. This duplicate information m, with no proposed solution, came 2 hours after I had ordered my food and 1hr of waiting post the delivery time. I have asked for a reimbursement and am yet to receive same.
