Nov 2021: I ordered the stock standard chicken schnitzel. It was such a busy night as well. They checked in on me to let me know if I was okay and the meal was coming. The staff were very courteous. The chicken was cooked to precision. My only regret was I didn't come during the week which is what we used to do when I went to this place in the early 2000's. I will always make a visit here each time I holiday in Port. Good people, good place. Jan 2022: I went a second time on a week day and had the burger for lunch. A good atmosphere. Apr 2022: I had the Monday night chicken parmigiana special it was so nice and lots on the plate. The staff were so hopeful. This place is a gem.

The lamb pie was not very good, but to be fair I might not like lamb. That was my first time trying it. The bread that came with my meal was amazing. . Everyone else loved their food. My husband loved the steak sandwich and my mother in law lover the linguine. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. It has a set up we are not used to. When you walk in you grab silverware and menus then seat yourself and you order at the bar.

Honestly was really underwhelmed with this place especially after hearing good things about it. I got a grilled chicken burger that LOOKED great but the taste wasn't great at all, the sauce tasted a bit off, the cheese was near frozen in the middle and the fries that were served with it looked exactly like the $3 1kg home brand fries you buy at Coles which is coincidentally right next door.... Daughters snitzel was inedible, way overcooked and her serving of fries was so tiny. Beer was great. Wouldn't return for food though.

I was lucky enough to have stumbled upon Finnian's tavern while searching for dinner this evening. I say lucky because the establishment is lovely. For my main, I had Finnian's famous chicken schnitzel with a serving of garlic and chive sauce on the side. I see why the schnitzel is renound! The schnitzel was fresh, the chicken breast had obviously been pounded earlier today. Two things detracting from the score: unfortunately, the chips were a bit too salty and the garlic sauce was a bit too runny. However, the latter could definitely be my own fault as I was absolutely famished so I left the sauce no time to sit and thicken. The ambiance was lovely. Would absolutely recommend if you're looking for a pub feed in the port city!

The food is okay with reasonable prices. 👍The decor, especially the carpet is disgusting as it was when we visited last year (no change). 🤢

Nice food and worth for the price. Nice drinks. Staff is friendly and helpful. A live band plays here with some good music. Full of local ladies in the bar.

This is my 'go to' pub when doing a stopover between Sydney and Brisbane. It's got a good atmosphere, a good selection of craft and standard beers on tap, and the food is decent. It can get busy on a weekend night, so make sure to book a table if you're in a group.

Called for lunch. Meals were first class. Fresh flounder on the specials was great wife had the Guinness pie both meals were great. Staff are friendly and very polite and go out of there way to make sure everything was fine with our meals. Make sure you book a table for lunch or get in early to avoid dissapointment.

Great place to eat with a good environment. Food was delicious especially the lunch special (chicken burger). The food is definetly filling and good for the price. Staff were nice and understanding for situations. Fast food service. One thing i did notice was that the pasta was way over cooked and too salty :/ Other than that I would recommend.

Well finally tried lunch there and what a shame, full price for a very substandard meal. Flavour was bland at best on all 4 meals we ended up leaving food on 3 plates (very ordinary). Maybe they should stick to just drinks.

Just want to say what lovely service we had and the food was great! This young lady has served us before. She’s always friendly and accommodating! Even when she had to wear a mask! Thank you.

Food was amazing, service was even better. I forgot her name, but the bar woman with beautiful red hair & very groovy eye make up went over & above the call of duty. Brilliant pub, cheers.

Thursday night dinner after being on the road. Went for the Chicken Schnitzel with chips, salad and I ordered gravy with it. The meal was pretty quick, chips were crispy, schnitzel hot and tender and the salad was very fresh. Gravy was tasty, dressing on the salad was refreshing. The pint of accompanying Kilskenny hit the spot! The staff were accessible and helpful and enquired as to my satisfaction of the meal. Overall a great pub meal, would recommend a visit. My only slight gripe was that I ran out of gravy, go bigger with the sauce. Cheers.

Chicken Parma / schnitty were absolutely delicious, staff were also very friendly, would definitely come back again!

Popped in for a quick meal. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Ordered meals and drinks which arrived quickly. Both meals fish and steak were great will definitely be returning when back in Port.

This place is the ideal comforting Irish pub. Great hearty meals and a comfortable warm place to relax with mates or in my case by yourself! There is a welcoming outdoor area with bench seats and table with plenty of room and geaters on the roof if it's cold. A curving bar where you won't wait for a drink. They do have live music as well on certain nights. For dinner I had the pork sausages which came with mash and brocolini and also ordered a garden salad. 2nd time I've eaten here and it's always good. I'd your in town do yourself a favour and past. Well worth a visit!

The menu is awesome a mixture of usual stuff and Irish pub meals the team were amazing very helpful and nothing was a problem. We had a party of 15 and the team jumped in to help and take photos and even cut up our cake. Can not recommend this place any higher well worth it. 👌

Great Delicious Dinner. Very Good Atmosphere. All the Staff behind the bar and throughout the Tavern made me feel welcome and at home. I will be returning soon. Highly Recommended ☆☆☆☆☆

Awesome service(thanks Sarah!). All round fantastic pub food. Chicken Schnitzel 🐔 parmigiana, Guinness Pie, John Dory battered fillets, Beef sliders & all was excellent. Wait time was minimal, meals served at same time. Table cleared after quite quickly which is excellent. Staff are wonderful. All round wonderful experience. Nice Pub with happy hour from 4 to 6 pm. Meal are good. Large Chicken Parmigiana. Disappointed with the beer battered fish and chips. It’s was all batter and no fish. Staff are friendly.

Food was nice, but food portions were small-ish. Every irish bar i have gone to normally have good size portions. I had the pie and the flavor was excellent - just wish i had more to eat.

Great place to catch up with friends. Members get cheaper beers up until sat 8pm, drinks then charged at normal price. Nice meals.

Always a happy experience at Finnians in the decade I've lived here. The customer service from the bar staff is always exemplary. It's great to see people loving what they do and expressing that passion through the fruits of their labour. Food is great too, the steaks are thick and juicy however the volume is a little small. In terms of music, I highly suggest that you find and incorporate a singer who will blow the roof off the joint and drive the patrons wild. An all rounder who can nail the old classics like OMD, Billy Idol, Elvis Presley and a bit of modern day pop music that satisfies everybody's hungry hearts, as Port Mac is a little less than satisfactory with the live music scene. Surely someone in town could facilitate. God bless the security, keep up the good work. I admire your audacity!

The meals were great value and tasted amazing, the customer service was prompt and very friendly will definitely come back here when we are holidaying in Port Macquarie again. Highly recommend, Thank-you to all the staff for a lovely meal and service.

Good quality pub food. The gravy was free of flavour so I was annoyed that it cost extra (honestly why doesn't the schnitzel come with gravy included) but all in all, a solid meal at a nice clean place. Also, excellent lemon lime and bitters. Made perfectly.

Great little venue. Food was good valve pub grub. Big portions. Reasonable priced beer. Could sit outside on the under cover street area which was good.

Lovely staff and we’re always so welcoming when going up to the bar. We ordered the sausage and mash which was really good! However the pie was really dry.

First time visit, fantastic food. I had the chicken schnitzel fries and salad with mushroom sauce. Absolutely delicious 😋 reasonable price plus the many beer's. Will definitely be going back again. In the heart of Port Macquarie, right next to Dan Murphys (handy) 🤣
