A nice park system connecting various parks in the area. Decent paths as my husband is legally blind and had no problems walking it. We were visiting the area and the weather was fantastic. Lots of bikes on the path. Went early afternoon and walked about 5 miles.

This is a fabulous place to walk. Take the bridge and go towards Kilgore! Update: so, this summer the city repaved quite a bit of the path towards celery flats. It was already a decent place to skate but buttery smooth new flat asphalt is lovely.

Dog friendly, bathrooms, bike tire fill up station. Restrooms, benches throughout the bike path for scenery scoping. This is my go to park for jogging.

Great park to take the kids. Slides for younger toddlers and a couple taller ones for bigger kids. Nice part of town!

This is a great place to walk, or ride bikes with different trails to choose from. I usually always see deer. If I bring the grandkids there is a great place to play. I usually like to put in earbuds and listen to music for two miles. Very relaxing.

Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy these trails. I’ve walked them throughout my childhood and for a while, they were my nature getaway. However, invasive species have been slowly and surely taking it over. Over the past 5 years, I’ve watched woodlands I could once walk through become completely shrubbed in with invasive autumn olive and multiflora rose. Not only will this impact the wildlife diversity, but will create an eyesore to nature enthusiasts. If better land management projects were put into place, this would save the trails and the critters that live there.

The slides are not appropriate for kids under 3. They need to provide age appropriate jungle gym. My grandson hurt himself on the slide.

I LOVE walking the Portage Creek Bicentennial Trails-Celery Flats ❣️ Oftentimes, I've seen deer. Everyone is always friendly, and it's not uncommon to see people cycling, rollerblading, jogging, or pet walking. It is always so enjoyable to go walking there, no matter what section I choose on any given day. This park has rest rooms, picnic areas, playgrounds, and statistically located park benches. Great place for a lunch break or an afternoon stroll. This park is handicap friendly.

Well-maintained and scenic trail. Views from Milham Road to Garden Lane. Great place for a peaceful walk or bike ride. There are even bikes available to rent.

Visited garden lane entrance. Free open parking, large covered event shelter with flush bathrooms and potable water filling stations, table and chairs in shelter. Deck overlooks pond, we used paved trail heading north to Kilgore road and back. Mostly shaded areas and multiple option routes to head north, park benches along the route allow for pulling off and setting if desired. Took my kids on bikes while I ran. Kilgore entrance has flush bathrooms, bike repair, air, and bottle filling station and a little pagoda with benches under. Return trip was nice, under i94 is 144 and 143 miles to Detroit and Chicago. Be aware of road rules for traffic, keep right unless you pass, this park is popular. Speed limit is 15. Pavement maintained, rollerblade/skate, skateboard carefully there are a few seams. Mile posts show distance traveled. Bridges are wide and properly safe.

Watch out for park ranger kurt shistle? , old white guy , he is a danger to the community and his actions damaged my bike and nearly hurt several others as well. He often stands on in the middle of the bridge and stops people to inspect their bikes for gas motors , its the most dangerous place to stop someone coming around a blind corner and having to slam on the breaks on a slick surface with no where to go even if you are going a safe speed. We are supposed to be a bike friendly community, seems illegal to stop people like this when they are on a normal quiet bike, and not breaking any rules. I've filed a 3 complaints now and the parks service is ignoring it, so i'm sure the issues are at the top and they dont care about safety or possibly legal issues. Someone is going to get hurt because of him sooner or later.

Excellent path for walking. I am so dissapointed that people are throwing garbage on the path. I take a little bag in my backpack so I can pick it up. There are plenty of garbage containers and I still found culvers and DQ cups 10 feet away from the container. Ugh. We need to contribute to the preservation of our parks and paths after all, those are out taxes at work, have some pride people.

Paved multiuse trails for strolling, walking, jogging, running, skating, riding, sury or surying. Also sitting or resting on one of the many benches along the trail. Canoeing and kayaking adjacent to the trail in the river. Drinking fountains inoperable at this time...but public restrooms are operating! Bird sanctuary areas located on the trail along with monarch waystations. Trains also may available for viewing.
