Weird little place. This is the smallest Quality Inn I've ever seen. The architecture, decor, furniture and fixtures all look like this place was built in the early 90's and aside from the electronics, nothing has been updated since. The "suite" is tiny and somewhat claustrophobic. It's like they took the space of a normal budget hotel room and split it up into two rooms with a bathroom in the middle. So both rooms, the sitting area and the bedroom, are very small. It's not filthy but housekeeping could be better. There were a few hairs on the wall in the shower, dirt around the edges of the bed between the mattress and the box spring and paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bedroom. Carpet had this weird sort of greasy feeling so I wore my shower shoes instead of walking around barefoot. Fixtures are well-worn and the towel rack was coming off the wall in the bathroom. Also the room reeked of 30 years of cigarette smoke. I grew up in the 70's when everything smelled like cigarette smoke so it doesn't bother me too much but your mileage may vary. Checked for bed bugs and didn't find any. My room and several others, I'm guessing also suites, had a big picture window in the sitting room that looks out into the hallway inside the hotel. First time I've ever seen that. I'm assuming they did that because they wanted to put a window in the sitting room but I'm certainly not going to open the drapes and put my room on display for whoever happens to be walking down the hall. Of course keeping those drapes closed makes the room feel like a cave. A small, claustrophobic cave. On a positive note, judging by the noise and construction equipment, they seem to be doing some renovation. No time like the present. Overall this place has a weird, oppressive vibe to it and feels like you're stepping into a time capsule from 30 years ago. I come up here for work semi-regularly and may or may not be back to this property. The only other Choice Hotels property in this area that isn't trash is the Comfort Inn & Suites in Merrillville but that place is starting to go downhill as well.

Decent place for the price you pay. Great location for Indiana Dunes Park. We forgot an item and they quickly called us to notify us and we went back to pick it up. Room was alright. The manual lock on the door did not work, so we shoved a chair near the handle for extra safety. Breakfast was good. They served yogurt, cereal, bananas, waffles, and Biscuits & Gravy. They did not have egg or bacon available which was ok with us! Overall, I felt safe and the bed was comfy. If you need a place to stay on a budget come here.

Fairly cheap and friendly service but the cleanliness was not great. Room initially smelled like food. Sheets on one bed smelled like perfume and had makeup stains. Paint peeling off the walls in the bathroom.

Friendly staff! Clean lobby! Bed comfortable! Had a king suite. Clean. Would stay again. Biscuits and gravy not good for people with diabetes. Need bacon or sausage. Bananas had seen better days. Close to Red River Road house. Great place to eat!!

Nice clean place and the desk staff is kind and polite. I stayed here one night and checked out. Then I came back the next night when I had to stay an extra day for business. In my last job I had a budget that allowed me to stay in expensive hotels. In my knew job I have incentives to keep costs down. For the price, this hotel is a great deal.

Found this hotel on Google maps while traveling. It's a bit off the main drag, but the prices are good despite the fact they charge a refundable deposit. The hotel is spacious inside, with large hallways and staircases, but it seems to be a rebuild(?) and perhaps originally it was a motel and then enclosed? Speculation on my part. Either way, I was surprised to find a very large room with a sofa and ottoman, along with a queen size bed and a large plasma TV. The furniture seemed to be a bit worn and some were stained, but the room and bath looked clean. Most importantly, I would like to say it was quiet,(there were very few guests on Wednesday night) but there was a family with children who let them run up and down the hallways. The management did nothing to stop it. So much for falling to sleep quickly after a long drive.

Booked the room on short notice, people were friendly ,room was clean also had a nice breakfast. Was close to train tracks did hear trains throughout the night but it was not a problem it was almost kind of cool to listen to them. Only downfall no elevator you have to climb the steps to the second floor.

The room was clean. I kept seeing ants. They didn't have any ant spray. Didn't have any other room available. At least 2 ants was in the bed. As well as other places. I slept in the other bed. I was still uncomfortable . If you stay here you better bring ants spray. They offered clean sheets. I told him I was not changing that bed.

We had a great stay at this Quality Inn & Suites. The room was spacious and very clean. Microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, plus a convenient ice machine. TV and internet were good. Your desk attendant, Jan, was awesome! Helpful and pleasant. Plus breakfast, which helped us get on our way early.

Front desk was awesome. Room was good. I always look at the bathroom as that is the most important and in my opinion, most overlooked by management. Bed was good. There was a ink?? Stain on the comforter but I assume it was bleached so no issues there. The bathroom...different story. The shower had hair in in, it takes 2 minutes to rinse it down...cmon. And the toilet had feces stains in the bowl from the previous occupant. Again, mainly housekeeping concerns but those are the most important to occupants. Besides that, comfortable bed and clean room minus the bathroom.

The 2nd shift check in staff was very friendly and polite I really did enjoy her energy big ups to her. The room we stayed in was HUGE you can tell it was renovated, the tub I thought looked kind of dirty after wiping it out looked like maybe old paint or something other than that everything was good. Breakfast would be my biggest negative moment I couldn't find anything I liked for breakfast the oatmeal was old and crunchy, muffin were hard and stale. The only thing was decent was the yogurt and waffle, which I don't eat but my spouse said it edible. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a little nice get a way .

We reserved two rooms, one room was fine. The second room hadn't been cleaned, they gave us a new room, it too hadn't been cleaned, the third room had at least been cleaned. It did not have the extras we had paid for... The evening crew was disappointing. The morning lady was good, even though she was running all over the place. She alone barely pulled this review up to a three star.

The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcomed... A great experience the rooms were clean and it shows that they care about their guests.. and the hotel is situated next to stores literally right across the street great location!

This Quality Inn is one of the better ones in the area. The breakfast area was very nice. The Inn itself is not that bad. The rooms are nice and spacious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The only thing bad I can see if there is no elevators in the building. I'm sure if you need accessibility, they would put you on the first floor, but that's about it.

I’m going to have to give this property 5 stars for great value and comfort. And the price was amazing for what you’re getting. I booked a room while huddled under a gas station canopy wet, not willing to spend the night at a nearby campground as planned. I picked an inexpensive solution to getting out of the rain. I did not expect that it would be as good as it turned out to be. And as another reviewer commented, the room I had was HUGE! And there were a total of 5 available outlets on the 2 night stands! Even the office chair adjusts up and down. The big parking lot was recently Re-paved. The registration staff was also genuinely friendly.

Very nice property! They are in the middle of updating the hotel. It'll be nice. After being assigned a reserved room, it looked like a matter was still being updated. I brought it to the front desk's attention. They promptly changed me to another room. It was an enjoyable stay!

The hotel was going through a renovation during my stay. The renovation crew started construction in the early hours of the morning, pretty obnoxious noise for someone trying to sleep. The breakfast was terrible though it was explained away due to the ongoing renovation. You would think that prices would go down because of this. This was not the case. The hotel also takes your phone number to send multiple texts demanding a review after your stay. I usually spare businesses any (deserving) scathing reviews due to abject laziness, but the constant texting from these people inspired me to invest some time to make an honest review.

Stayed here for 10 days due to working in this town first off meme hung up on me 3 times while trying to book, next took all my food out of fridge work 14 hours a day. owner said he would take care of it, never has as of yet 3 fees of 25 dollar's every time i added more days to reserve room the property is in poor condition no washer or dryer the only thing good is the bed was conformable but watch your money and dont leave nothing in your room while you are away ....

I'm sure this place was nice 50 years ago, but it certainly hasn't been kept up. The hotel and rooms are as nice as possible for being so old, but you can't help but notice the run down appearance and the old uncomfortable mattresses. The night staff for check in was very nice and friendly, but the day staff was certainly not. They started knocking on my door around 9:30 even though check out was 11. The front desk staff was downright unfriendly in the morning. Definitely will not stay here again, and recommend you don't either.

Was unprepared for the continuous construction and renovations. It wasn't documented on the website that the hotel was undergoing construction. Checked in at 4 pm on friday and dealt with saws overpowering the volume on our TV. If there was a lull in the saws it was overtaken by the obnoxiously loud music from the construction crew blasting through our door. It ended about 7 pm, But started right back up at 7 am the next morning. The staff was pleasant enough, but we would not have stayed here had we known how much of an irritant it would have been to deal with.

Staff was very friendly. They’re still in the middle of renovating the place, but the rooms are clean and the ones that have been renovated already look great! Definitely enjoyed our stay and would return again if we’re in the area.

The hotel itself was going through renovations so it was kind of messy in the hallway. The rooms were very clean and smelled good. The fan was very noisy though. The breakfast was convenient and the location was great.

Only problem with this place is the occasional spider. Lol. The rooms are ok and the service is great! I stayed here for almost 2 months while working. The owner is nice and he's upgrading everything. Showed me the new rooms and they've done a really great job. 👍🏿 Cool laid back spot right off the toll road and accessible from 94. It's good. Try it for yourself.

Hotel is under renovation. We stayed in a renovated room - newly painted with new furniture and bed! Very happy with room. Breakfast was just ok as to be expected from a quality inn. Make your own waffles was an option.
