It's honestly unacceptable to me to charge almost $400/night and not provide daily housekeeping. And it's definitely not because of COVID protocols since nobody, neither staff nor guests were required to wear masks or keep a distance. The room was freezing on arrival, the carpet had not been vacuumed since there were scattered bits of paper and crumbs under the desk and chair, and the toilet was leaking. The kind of "cleaning" that is ok as long as you don't look too close. We also had to ask for clean towels and were told we couldn't get them until late afternoon. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced: soft and lumpy mattress and flat pillows. Their free breakfast is pre-packaged cereal, muffins and juice. The coffee was always almost empty, whatever time we got there. Again, $400/night is ridiculous, since it's basically a glorified motel.

Bed was way too firm to the point it gave me back pain. The pillows were super uncomfortable and felt Like their was bubble wrap inside the pillow. even with using 2 pillows, it was very uncomfortable. There were not many blankets. tv was ok…it was a older model and it kept blacking out in middle of watching something. It would show all kinds of channels but only a few actually worked. The free breakfast was decent but not as many options as I was hoping. some of the staff were nice. also in the room I stayed in you couldn’t open the window at all. their was no way to and it was hot at times. shower was decent but small. It’s definitely not made for tall people.

The property is centrally located. Easy to drive or walk into Portland or nearby dining options. Plenty of free parking on-site. The breakfast has a good selection of the conventional stuff - waffles, cupcakes, bagels, muffins, cereal, boiled eggs, etc. Hot beverages and cold water are available 24/7, which is a huge positive. Given COVID-19 protocols, turn down service is only for guests who stay longer than five days. However, you can always get fresh towels and linen. Trash just needs to be kept out in the corridor and get new bags from the front desk/housekeeping cart. The rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable, the pillows not so much. The also gave us a pretty good crib and our 11-month old slept well. It is an old property but maintained well. There was good water pressure in the shower. The toiletries are also good and Made in USA. The staff are prompt and courteous.

Place is extremely hard to get to as it is on a one-way Street and if you've never been to Portland before it's very hard to find. The night staff or night front desk lady was very rude, there's no ATM or anything and they say they include free breakfast but it's just packets of instant oatmeal, yogurt, and little cartons of milk and orange juice. There was a long hair in my bedding, and the room was freezing upon entry. They do have a little store type area where you can buy stuff but everything is overpriced by like $2. I used to work as a motel housekeeper, public service area attendant, and a laundry attendant so I know all about the rooms and this one looked like it needed to be swept a little bit more and have had the head housekeeper go around and do inspection checks on the housekeepers work like we used to do at the hotel I worked at so things like the hair and they're not completely swept up rooms could have been corrected before I guess was checked in. It looked like a nice room upon entry but upon closer inspection you start to see the little things. The only reason I give it to a location even though it was incredibly hard to find not being from Portland is because it's only about a mile and a half away from the Civic Center so you're pretty much close to a concert if that's why you're down there other than that there's not really much good to say about this place.

This is a beautiful and comfortable hotel but the cleaning is lacking. The curtains and sheers along with the mattress had stains on them. The bathroom cabinet had what looked like throw up on the base and the grout in the shower had mold. Otherwise we loved our stay!

Pseudo- average laquinta. Very clean, everyone friendly. But the price. Wow! $404 / night! Ocean city, md...a resort town is far less in the peak season. There doesn't seem to be anything going on in town to cause a scarcity of lodging. I'm definitely going to check into why when I get home. This hotel is nice- no joke- but 400 dollars is insane. .... and there's no maid service!!! You leave trash/ towels etc in the hallway and get clean towels/ trash bags etc from the front desk!!! Bathroom is tiny. Room has 2 double beds and no dresser/ furniture of any kind to store clothes. Being pet friendly is this particular hotels' only saving grace.

Toilet would not flush - called front desk they stated that no one was on staff to assist or fix. They would not move us to another room. Next morning there was no service request for our room. Have been asking for compensation from corporate since our stay in early October- still no response or follow up

First time at La Quinta Portland during the Thanksgiving weekend. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and pretty. The hotel is very beautiful and is conveniently located near the highway making it easier to get around. The only one major disappointment was the breakfast: limited choices and… no waffle maker! On the hotel website, amongst pictures of rooms and amenities, there is one of a big fluffy waffle but there is no waffles at all for breakfast! What? Just dull English muffins and bagels with raisins (yuk). I am used to stay in La Quinta’s everywhere in the States and this is a first. Just for that false advertising I’m not sure I will book here again.

I reserved a room online & was given the option to choose monthly payments using Uplift. I chose that, got to the hotel, & was still charged the full $308 for my one night stay. The person working the front desk had no idea about Uplift & couldn't help or give me any suggestions or a phone number for the hotel to try & sort it out. Other than that it was nice & clean. The room was big enough. There's an outdoor pool, a fitness room, free breakfast & wifi.

A very nice stay. Our room was clean and a good size. There's lots of extra floor space. I actually would recommend putting a small coffee table in the room. The staff was kind and check-in went well. The little shop with snacks and drinks was fine. Breakfast wasn't great. A very small amount of items. Should be a bit larger with more choices. The location is just okay. Between the hotel and certain areas of downtown it's not super great. We went to get pizza and stop at Walgreens and saw homeless and some loud, rowdy people out and about. Just didn't feel super safe. It's like every other big city but I kind of wish we were closer to Old Port or downtown. Our stay was also pretty pricey! Over $600 for two nights. Not worth that amount in my opinion.

Beautiful hotel. So clean. Beds were so comfy. Pillows were the best. Service was great at the desk. Breakfast was great. There was eggs, sausage patties, bagels, english muffins, cereal, yogurt, juice and milk. Had lots around with a little drive.

All the staff were so accommodating and friendly to me. I was alone traveling out of state for work and they made me feel very comfortable and safe. Clean rooms. Good breakfast. Thank you all!!

Modern interior, convenient location, spacious room with comfortable bed. Everything was in perfect order and functional, plenty of power outlets for charging mobile devices and cameras’ batteries. Helpful and efficient staff. It was a perfect overnight stopover, and a good value for money.

This is a two star hotel that is middle class. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The rooms are super clean and really in good condition. What I have to complain about is the fact that this is a fully air-conditioned hotel, where unfortunately the windows can not be opened. On the one hand good, because of the noise pollution from the Portland jetport, on the other hand it would be good if some fresh air came into the building. We arrived in Portland on a day when it was raining cats and dogs and they even offered us an umbrella to borrow. The hotel is very centrally located and you can get downtown pretty quickly. It is also very easy to buy food and drinks.

So this was another business trip for me. I even had to book last minute. For a last minute booking and today’s economy…this was actually a really decent deal/find for something short notice. I do agree with what guests are saying about breakfast. The selections are limited compared to other hotels. There is a lot of empty counter space with so much potential! Things like almonds for the oatmeal, a different variety of jelly for toast, some grab and go pastries, or an automatic pancake maker so the guests don’t have to attend to the old style waffle maker. Things like that would make a world of difference to the guests. Room is clean and what I’d except to see while traveling. Bathroom setup is a little weird. Shower and toilet are separate from the sink. You see the sink as soon as you walk in. That’s not a deal breaker by any means. The TV however could be upgraded a generation. Relatively small compared to what I see when I travel. Altogether this is a good choice in hotel if you are considering staying. I would stay here again if business brought me back to the area.

Easy to get into and out of. Room was very nice and clean. Staff were great and helpful when asked about local places. Close to downtown and the children’s museum.

Free parking, which most of Portland does not have. Incredibly clean and pretty comfortable beds. Room was a good size and bathroom was nice. Breakfast was good for a hotel breakfast, they did have hot food which I appreciated.

Price and location are its best attributes. Rooms were good size. Vinyl floors in rooms were unusual but like-new condition and very clean. Toilet and shower in their own room with a teeny tiny sink in other. Same limited breakfast options every day for continental breakfast. A little variety would have been appreciated. Not enough seats for breakfast. Location was great for quick trips to the old port sections. Plenty of on-site parking. Extreamly friendly and helpfull staff. I would return again.

The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean with ample toiletries. The free breakfast was very good and there was free parking in front. There is also a gym, laundry room and outdoor pool. The room was comfortable with a mini fridge and microwave. The location allows for easy access to the ferry and downtown area. The cost of our stay was reasonable. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Drove about 8 hours before making a stop here. Got there late at night but the lady at the front desk was very accommodating. The room was clean, the gym was well equipped and super clean. The breakfast was included and those bagels!!!! Lol I would definitely stop at another one of their franchises!!!

They do not clean room's daily and you have to leave trash and dirty towels in the hallway. Rooms where clean, staff friendly and it is located within walking distance to the Seadogs ball park and to adult use dispensaries. Denny's is also within walking distance. Not a picturesque place but I was there for work. I never got to try breakfast because we left before 6 am and breakfast wasn't served till 6:30. Worth the price in my opinion.

Conveniently located near the center of town, which was handy since we were going to a show at the State Theater. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. I do have complaints though The bathroom in the room was clean overall, other than the hair monster in the shower drain. Beds are a bit too solid. The pillows were the worst I've ever used my entire life. They kept getting really flat. Even scrunching them up with my arms didn't help. They sounded like they had popped bubble wrap in them. The continental breakfast had good choices for older people. Need to have more options that appeal to teens and children, like pancakes, waffles, french toast, bacon, scrambled eggs. Variety was pretty good otherwise. Fitness center is nice as are the lobby and patio area. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Clean, good service, good location to walk to the west side of Portland or Uber/bus anywhere else you want to go. Free parking is a plus. Why oh why are Portland hotels so expensive?? The exact hotel with same amenities is one-third the price in other places... why is this?
