Great food and service. We appreciated the heaters for covered outdoor dining. We arrived at 9am (on a Sunday) when they opened and did not have to wait, so would recommend arriving when they open on the weekend to avoid a wait.

Wow this was a nice spot to have brunch at! The food was delicious and very different from usual. I really enjoyed their shared pancake balls it's such a nice dessert to have after eating your main meal. I highly recommend their lemon curd. I couldn't get enough of it. Overall, a must try place for something different and I will definitely be coming back and bringing friends.

I wanted to like it more than I did. Service Let’s start here since this is where I’m most concerned. I understand when a restaurant is popular, and I don’t mind waiting, but the waiting system here is busted. We put our names down on a list and had to wait an hour. No one was around to tell us how long it would be, and if we had known, we wouldn’t have dined here. Also frustrating that they didn’t have a system in place where they could text me when our table was ready, so we were forced to stick around. I could tell a lot of people gave up on this place because of this. Food After such a long wait, it was an uphill battle, but the food did not prove to be worth it. The baked egg dish was bland. It tasted like breadcrumbs and that’s it. The sausage was good. The Swedish pancakes were the best thing we had, but I think I could make them at home. Coffee I liked that they had coffee available outside for while you wait for your table. At least there was that. Atmosphere Tiny. Just okay. There are indoor and outdoor tables. Recommend? It’s possible that we got the wrong dishes and it happened to be particularly busy that day, but I would not recommend Broder Cafe.

Lovely and short menu with special Nordic dishes. Great coffee and good specials. I really loved that they had a vegetarian option for everything. We got there right as they opened at 9 and there wasn’t a wait but I know the line gets super long here. Idk if I’d want to wait but if you get there early it’s super chill!

Wow wow wow, this place is good Coming after hiking Multuonmah Falls, we wanted food that was both hearty and healthy, and we couldn't of been more pleased with Broder. While I wasn't exhilerated by looking at the menu at first glance, it didn't take long for me to realize why this place was able to expand into 2 other locations and is a local favorite. Our waiter was great, she was knowledgable on the food and even gave us the pronounciations of the different cuisines. We decided to each get a main and nibble on some of the other foods. AEBESKIVER (8/10) Its not often that I like to start of my lunch with sweets, but these little puffies were very flavorful and the included lemon curd and jam added more yumminess. Really good for a group. BORDER BORD (9/10) The menu said "great for sharing" and it is very true. This board of cheeses, trout, veggies, and crackers gives you a small glimpse of the various flavors you get in the main course. The cheese was soft but bold, with a great creamy flavor with just a hint of subtle sweentess, it all combined very well. TUNNBRODSRULLE (9/10) I was expecting a hot dog and instead I got a sandwich with incredible pickeld vegtables and a delicious sausage stuffed inside. I loved every bit of it, using my fork to finish it as it started to fall apart a bit. There was a really good crispness with the vegtables and while the hot dog wasn't huge, it packed a really good amount of tanginess that stuck with me. Other things I nibbled on: LAMB BURGER - This wasn't pink like a normal burger, but the goat cheese on it was shockinly yummy and allowed the chewy meet to sit just right KOTBULLAR - Oh these meatballs were gooood. I really liked how soft they were while still having a meaty tase. The jam was a little sweet, but it included bread to help balance everything out. Broder Cafe is one of the more memorable meals we had in Portland. It had an incredible friendy staff, and unique Scandanavian food that was flavorful and fun. Highly reccomend checking this out.

The food was wonderful! People show up before they open to get a table, so plan a head and make sure you have some time to spare. I loved the lefse!

The kind of food you want to eat when it’s cold and raining outside. We shared the house-smoked trout hash and meatballs, which were very hearty and filling. We enjoyed the meatballs especially, and the accompanying creamy sherry and lingonberry sauces. Although it’s a bit of a cramped space, our counter seats allowed us a great view of the preparation of our food.

We just arrived in Portland the day before, so we were excited to try some of the local restaurants. Our son surprised us and brought us to Broder Cafe. He was extremely excited himself, so we knew we were in for a treat. The menu was unique, so I knew I had to study it to make sure I picked the perfect meal. I was certainly excited to see it, and it didn't disappoint. Our meals were something that we've never tried before and simply delicious. If you are in this area of Portland...stop by and see for yourself. You may have a hard time deciding, but I assure you that whatever you choose, it will bring a smile to your face. I definitely need to talk about the waitress and waiter who helped us. I wish I had gotten their names as they are truly an asset to your business. They were pleasant, knowledgeable, and excited about everything they said. They simply made our experience even more enjoyable. Thank you for making our time with you memorable. It was an amazing dining experience!!

Every single thing I ate here was perfection. The snack platter was so perfectly curated with a variety of tastes and textures. The aebleskivers were perfect, warm, crisp on the outside, light and fluffy and moist with delicious accompaniments. It was also super well decorated and the perfect thing to make me happy after taking the SAT.

Delicious brunch place for a spot of Scandinavian(particularly Swedish) food! 😋😋 They’ve long wait times - is recommend being there when they open. My friends and a I were there 5 minutes after opening and had to wait 10-15 minutes! But it was worth the wait. The food was delicious!! I tried their Finish oatmeal pancakes - it was yummy and so unlike any oatmeal I’ve had before! I loved the pancakes too! With the lingonberry jam and lemon curd - 🤤😋 If you’re in Portland, don’t miss out on this place! 🙂

It’s something different for sure. Tired of American style breakfast so I come here for try. Warming! It’s a long wait (an hour) so be sure you come early or pick a less busy day. Food is really creamy and cheesy. I don’t hate it at all, it’s something new to me I think it’s actually good! The price are reasonable… you may think it’s not a lot of food based on the picture but it’s a lot! Don’t order too much!

We were in Denmark and Norway last month and wanted to satisfy our cravings for Scandinavian fare. Broder never disappoints. In fact, you’ll find an outpost of Broder at Nordic Northwest, a Scandinavian nonprofit in SW Portland. Since brunch is a competitive sport in Portland we like to go early, put our name down on clipboard, and wait for them to officially open. You can help yourself to a hot cup of coffee too. My favorite is the Lost Eggs, which has thinly sliced, flaky ham with eggs, spinach, cream, and a crunchy panko topping. My husband enjoyed the Swedish hash. There’s an extensive drink menu with an aromatic turmeric latte we order every time. You can order off the lunch menu for breakfast, so if you’re craving smørrebrod with your morning coffee, no problem. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a Hollywood celebrity having a super low key breakfast like we did last year. (“Frodo!!!”)

So, so, so good!! There was about a 30 minute wait on a Saturday morning and it was so worth it. I'm gluten free and they have gluten free menu items or ones they can alter to make gf, the waitress was very knowledgeable! I had the lost eggs with gluten free toast and gf panko crumbs. Best gluten free bread I've had in my 3+ years of being gluten free. The espresso martini was strong and yummy. The potato pancake is gluten free and so good with the jam. 1000% recommend this place!!

Friggin delicious! It was our first time here and the 30 minute wait was completely worth it! Yum! I had the breakfast sandwich, my husband had a skillet scramble thing and we shared a single potato pancake. The breakfast sandwich (with ham) and the pancake were my favorite, such a great balance of flavors!

The eats were presented beautifully and top notch in flavor. Wait time on a Saturday afternoon was about 90 minutes. A way to check in online would be a great addition. Also, if you put two people on a big table it wouldn't hurt to ask them if they would be willing to share with another duo. We would have shared our table if asked.

Awesome experience here. The pancakes are amazingly soft inside and the drinks are bomb (literally--that house spicy sauce is strong)! Lovely spot!

We were a group of four who went for Saturday brunch. Wait was about 40 mins. We chose to sit outside. They have good outdoor seating. Server was friendly and food was good.

Both of our breakfast items were delicious - especially loved the veggie hash with the tiniest diced potatoes! Bloody Mary was balanced well with a perfect amount of heat and spice. The espresso martini was very sweet so we opted for the Last Nord instead and that was FAB. Will be back to make it through the rest of the menu and sample lunch :)

Great service. Fresh and oh-so-delicious food! We found a new brunch spot. The crew was friendly and helpful. The spring salad was perfection on a hot day. Yes, A hot day in Portland! They also offer GF options for the win.
