😐 A bit conflicted with this gym as my boyfriend and I went on and off for about a year. The parking sucks if you are trying to go in the evening times - but that's not really their fault. The classes itself is a good work out - however this gym focuses more on burning a lot of calories without teachi... People often mention classes, boxing, coaches, class, months, time,

A bit conflicted with this gym as my boyfriend and I went on and off for about a year. The parking sucks if you are trying to go in the evening times - but that's not really their fault. The classes itself is a good work out - however this gym focuses more on burning a lot of calories without teaching proper form and technique. PROS - Rates are very reasonable, a good size facility where you can work on your own bag, small section for weight lifting is available, classes do burn a lot of calories so expect to burn around 500+ calories per class. A lot of availability of class times to choose from which can work with anyone's schedule. CONS - Parking sucks. Although the weight room is there, if there's more than 2-3 people in it, it gets too crowded. Sometimes there's kids/teens who just hangs out in the weight room and just takes up space but they're not really working out. The coaches do not really teach you specific form and they throw very large combinations towards a class that's predominantly beginners. If my bf and I are confused with the combos and we've been doing boxing for years now - then no doubt would the beginners be confused too. The coaches sometimes do not go around and help and correct form. But again ,these classes are structured to help you burn a lot of calories and make you move a lot. But in terms of learning technique for boxing? It's an area of needed improvement.

I have been attending classes at this gym for about six months now. This place is FANTASTIC. Multiple class times available throughout the day. The instructors and knowledgeable and super cool. I have attended both Boxing Conditioning and Kickboxing Conditioning classes. Free weights, slam balls, sleds, ropes...all available. Can't beat the price for everything you get. Not to mention the choice of music is spot on!! So happy I chose this gym.

PCB is excellent. The classes are intense and focused; the staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and dedicated; and the facility is practically brand new (the SE location opened only a few months ago). They sport open gym hours with free weights and a cpl machines, and the coaches are always willing to answer questions and give pointers if and when needed. As for learning the ropes and getting into shape, I don't think there's a better way than boxing conditioning. These classes push you hard, really look to see what you're made of, especially if they're coached by Scott B or Mike C. Whew--those guys do not joke around. But none of the coaches do. You're completely wiped out after every class, yet you're filled with that thrilling feeling of accomplishment at the same time. And that's worth every dime and drop of sweat. Kudos!

I have been a member of this gym since it opened on Glisan almost 3 years ago. It is the best gym I have ever been to and the people that run it really care. If you are new they help you get started at any level. Always kind. Coach Tommy is an amazing instructor.

The facility was clean, with a wide variety of equipment and class options. I initially liked it very much. Staff were friendly, and there were initially options for all skill levels. After about 2 months, the classes started to get disorganized, time changes without updating the website but posted on facebook. Then the Instructors time slots were moved around and became inconvenient times. This boxing gym (although offered kids classes) didn't feel like it was accommodating for beginner boxers. Due to the reasons above in addition to the location being across from a shelter, I decided to cancel. I turn in the access card, but was charged an additional 2 months after my card was submitted. There was some confusion in the cancellation process, and I had to follow up several times to confirm the account was really closed. I don't mind paying the additional month's fee for my early termination, but I do mind paying 2 additional months after my access card was taken from me. They are a nice "mom n' pop' gym, with that friendly feel, but I have little trust is their management of my account and ability to communicate terms and conditions.

Best boxing gym in Portland. Staff works hard to keep classes fun and challenging. I've been coming here for almost 2 years and find it to be an excellent and addicting way to workout. Special props to Paul for the enthusiasm he brings to his classes. The gym has been great with Covid safety. Wishing the best for the gym during the freeze, I'll be following along on Zoom 🀘

I love this gym and the instructors are so supportive and encouraging!!! I feel safe working out in the studio, even during this covid pandemic. Masks are free at the front and are mandatory-props to PCB for ensuring community safety! I’ll keep coming back! πŸ˜ƒπŸ₯ŠπŸ’ͺ🏼

Welcoming, supportive and fun environment with options for boxing and kickboxing from beginner to advanced. I especially enjoy the kickboxing fundamentals classes by coaches Paul and Phillip. I have built so much strength and skill in just a few short months even though I was a complete beginner. I love that sparring is available but not required.

Portland City Boxing has been excellent. I joined the gym about a month ago after using fight camp for a year. It’s been a great transition to in person boxing fitness. Everyone is super friendly, inviting, and encouraging. The work outs are awesome. The atmosphere is very inclusive. Very glad to have joined this community.

Really enjoy the conditioning classes. They’re tough and push your limits, but are rewarding as heck! Great coaches, positive vibes. Happy I joined. πŸ₯Š

Although the gym has had issues with the cancellation process in the past, I was left with the impression from recent interactions that they are headed in a better direction; their response rate and the customer service have both greatly improved! I would recommend going to this gym because from my experience, the trainers always provided feedback for improving form and technique and had awesome energy during the workout sessions. I loved training with instructor Mike and Jeremy at their downtown Portland location, they were really supportive to beginners and super passionate about fitness and boxing. I learned how to properly put on my wraps from Mike and learning how to box really improved my sense of self defense and confidence. Recently they have begun to offer new classes including MMA classes and that sounds pretty exciting to me! I wish them the best as they grow under new management.

This gym is a go to for authentic boxing. Jai is a solid instructor and the gentleman who runs it is there to empower people. I box in Phoenix and was pleasantly surprised with the talent out here.
