I had been seeing the advertisement from the The Jewelry Buyer on MeTV ( I think) and it reminded me that I had a beautiful dress watch from my dad that I hadn't worn in years. I have a small collection of watches but this one, being a dress watch, with both the watch case and band in 14k gold, was a bit too flashy for my style. The tv ad also reminded me that gold prices are up there right now, I think just under $1800 per ounce, so I decided it was time to sell it. I visited four jewelry shops in Portland, including two of which were in downtown (as an aside, dealing with the traffic and parking in downtown Portland was a hassle) and of the four I visited earlier today, Randy at the Jewelry Buyer provided me with the highest price for my gold watch. Also, I would like to add that dealing with Randy was a pleasure. I can wholeheartedly recommend Randy at The Jewelry Buyer to anyone looking to sell their gold jewelry and watches.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME IF YOUR A SERIOUS COLLECTOR. Brought a ring to this guy that was worth at least $900 and he offered me the price of the gold - he is simply a low scale pawn broker, NOT a collector of fine jewelry. He is also not friendly or courteous.

My first time ever selling gold or jewelry and my friend took me here. Apparently she had sold some jewelry about 6 months prior. Not only did he give me way more than I expected him to, he did something that flat out astounded me. He remembered my friend from almost half a year ago and told her that he had made a mistake and under quoted her on a piece of jewelry she had sold him. He then pulled out fifty dollars and handed it to her because he felt he owed it to her from way beforehand. He didn’t have to do that. No one would have even known. I was so blown away that he did this out of his own free will that I immediately trusted him. My experience was more than positive and that one move made me feel confident in his business practices.

I didn’t get any second offers but I knew what gold was at on the market so I knew I was getting a fair offer. I had lots of small pieces, and a couple of antique pieces and he was able to tell me if they were gold or silver or just some other kind of metal. Very knowledgeable man. It was quite fascinating to see him sort thru the stuff I had.

What an unexpected pleasant experience! I had what I considered some ugly jewelry from my aunts estate and turned out to be saleable. Definitely more than expected. A very kind gentleman reviewed items and made great offer. Would definitely bring all estate jewelry here first! I will also go here first for buying jewelry as well since he was so nice to deal with while selling jewelry. Thank you for not making me feel dumb in the process of selling since I knew so little regarding estate items. Overall 5 star plus experience!! Go here first, you will not regret it!

I took some of my old, broken and never wear gold jewelry to this gentleman and he was so nice and fair. He gave me a price and I asked if I could go check Silver Linings and see what their price would be he said, ”of course!”. Needless to say, I came back and he was more than happy to buy my gold for a better price than them. Honest and very genuine man! I highly recommend!

I would have tried to sell my gold jewelry sooner, but did not have one clue how to go about it. I sorted through everything we had and I checked Google and Yelp to find great reviews about Randy, The Jewelry Buyer on Sandy Blvd. We decided to just go in today as sort of a fact-finding mission. It was easy to find and there was parking right in front. Randy is super friendly and completely forthcoming about how he evaluates things to buy. He tests it and makes two piles, one for gold and one for gold-filled. He returned the gold-filled to me and weighed the gold. It soon became clear that there is no need to check anywhere else, this is a great place! We left with way more $$$ than we expected. I'd give him more stars if I could.
