If you only have time for one tour amongst all the tourist attractions, this is the one to choose. Tickets cost Euro 8 for adults and it consists of a visit to the famed tower, the museum and the chapel. After entering by scanning your ticket (do not lose them) you enter a museum where several artifacts and collection items are displayed. You move along and ascend to the second floor where you have a view of the chapel. Still ascending, you enter the third level where another exhibition hall awaits. Going further, you start your climb to the tower. Here you ticket is punched and off you go. The stairwells are very narrow and yet two way traffic. Please exercise caution and give way as far as possible to in coming traffic in the stairwell and also to the young and elderly. At the top you are immediately rewarded with the best 360 degree views of Porto. Take care not to poke someone in the eye with your selfie sticks and please be patient. Some groups ahead of you will take their time to snap off countless shots of the same breathtaking view. P/S there is a photo taking service before you climb the tower. These three shots of you will be superimposed on shots of the tower taken by drone. You only pay if you choose to buy. Or you can skip and go straight up the stairwell.

Tip : book in advance for the 1830 viewing. We went on a busy weekend and shared the platform with two other groups. Much better experience. It also meant we got to go to the museum the day after as it’s closed at 6pm. This worked well for us. Great views of the city from this tower - please note there is no elevator and about 500 steps to climb.

Pleasant self guided tour prior to going to the tower. Ticket also includes entry for the church. Plenty of art and artifacts, as well as history of other buildings in the area. Stairway to the top is winding and narrow with traffic going both ways. People taking turns letting others pass before continuing in their direction. There are two levels of observation decks. Both offer terrific 360 views of the city on their circular balconies. Well worth the time.

We booked tickets online maybe about a week prior for 3 PM entry tickets for a Monday afternoon. Daytime tickets are €8 and nighttime is €5, which seems pretty cool but we didn't feel the need to visit twice, especially since our time in Porto was limited. It took us probably about 40 minutes to explore everything, climb to the top, and take photos as the top. You get a great view of Porto and all of its red rooftops. The climb isn't super easy though. It's a lot of steps and there are some narrow areas, but if you feel like you're physically up to it, the views are so worth it. It gets super windy/cold up there though so dress warmly. It also wasn't too crowded at the time we went, so that was another nice perk. Highly recommend if you're visiting Porto!

Although the getting in experience isn't the smoothest (specially if there are a lot of people), it should easily be the top pick for anyone that visits Porto. Once you're at the top the views are incredible and definitely worth seeing. The church inside is also very pretty and there are some showrooms with the story of the tower, but they are slightly overshadowed by the views.

(Translated by Google) Although you have to climb hundreds of stairs to reach the top, you will find it worth it after you climb up. You can see the whole Bodo at a glance, which is worth the fare. (Original) 雖然要爬好幾百層階梯才能登頂,但是爬上去之後會覺得非常值得,可以把整個波多一覽無遺,值回票價。

What a view! It was €6/person for admission, which seamed a fair price to pay to tour the church, let alone go up in the tower. Beautiful inside with an incredible story to go along with it — plenty to learn and see before even ascending the tower. That said, the highlight was definitely the view from the top — not sure how many steps total, but well worth the effort as the views spectacular! Would definitely recommend to anyone bouncing around Porto for the day with an hour or so to spend soaking in some local history!

Tower from 1750 with beautiful chapel inside. There was a separate ticket of 6 euros to go to the top of the tower. Stairs to the top is very narrow but had several windows to steal the views of the city. There are couple of levels at the top which gives sweeping view of the city. Entry and exit were smooth. At exit, there is a souvenir shop if you are interested in buying the souvenirs

I am always up for seeing the best views of a city from an old tower. And this is no exception. Absolutely stunning views. The entry is €10 and is worth it. There is also a small self-guided tour of the tower which involves various religious paraphernalia. I’m not sure how else to describe it. But the views are great. See attached pics.

75-meter-tall bell tower, the Torre dos Clérigos is most famous bell tower in the city. When you climb it, you have a great view of the city.

I was fortunate to visit the Torre dos Clérigos during my trip to Porto, and it was an incredible experience. The tower itself is an architectural masterpiece, and although the climb up the stairs is a bit steep, the view from the top is breathtaking. You can see the entire city of Porto, with its characteristic red roofs and the Douro River winding through the city. It's truly a must-visit spot if you're in Porto. Make sure to bring your camera to capture these incredible views!

So exciting view but you need a lot of time to spend in queue to the top of the tower and to get down. Also there is possibility to visit a museum inside the tower. You can buy tickets in advance but upstairs you need to stay in the queue and wait with everyone 😔

The Clérigos Tower and Church in Porto are stunning architectural gems. The Baroque-style tower, designed by Nicolau Nasoni, offers breathtaking panoramic views of Porto and the Douro River from its 76-meter height. The unique spiral staircase, though a climb of 225 steps, is rewarded with awe-inspiring vistas. Despite the ascent, the €8 adult admission (€4 for kids) is justified by the priceless experience of the city's beauty unfolding beneath you. An absolute must-visit for those appreciating history and panoramic delights.

Beautiful for sure, it was 5 euro for student and I the church is for free but the tower was priced. I got there at 4.30pm but they told me to come back at 5.30pm to see the tower , I guess the time appointments are limited but I'm not sure. The stairs are very small, but the view is amazing. Just one bad point is, the upstairs, there are really small area to stand and there are lots of people with you, so I thanked to people a lot 😂😂 cause we always shared our ways with each other. But still, the top is amazing the view is best I guess. Definitely add to your Porto tour.

(Siehe Fotos)

Stunning views of Porto! Yes, there are a lot of stairs to climb. Yes, it's narrow, just like any other tower. But it's totally worth it! The entrance ticket is combined - the Church, the museum, the tower. If you choose to climb the tower for the sunset, in the evening you can't visit the museum any longer, and instead you can only go up the tower. Definitely a must!

Great for 360 views across the city. Especially on a sunny morning. Take your time and soak in the history and culture. Many of the exhibits may not suit everyone as they can be bit tiresome and dare I say not very engaging. However most come for the tower and at few euros , it is worth the cost. The stairs are narrow the higher you go and it is a squeeze at the top if more than 5/6 people are on the viewing balcony. Go first thing or last thing to avoid the crowds, but avoid when weather is rain or mist, you won’t get the views.

(Translated by Google) The Torre de los Clérigos, together with the church, makes up the architectural complex of the Church and Torre de los Clérigos and is located in the old town of the city of Porto. Made of granite, the height of the tower exceeds 75 meters, which can be climbed thanks to the internal staircase of more than 240 steps. In 2013, Portugal dedicated a € 2 commemorative coin to him. The Tower, as well as its church, is open to the public and allows visits, even at night. Both the church and the tower are the work of Nicolau Nasoni, one of the greatest exponents of the Baroque in the Portuguese city. Construction began in 1754 and was completed in 1763 at the request of the Brotherhood of Poor Clerics. In addition to the church and its tower, the Clerigos complex also included an infirmary. The original design included two towers, but the second was never built. For many years the Torre de los Clérigos was the tallest building in Portugal. The complex has been a National Monument since 1910 and the Clérigos Tower is one of the main symbols of the city of Porto. Excellent attraction to visit. Worth booking a ticket to see the complete over the top indulgent lavish opulence of the church and also climb the tower to soak in the panoramic views over Porto. It gets busy but it is well organised with numbers limited in the tower at any one time.

Would definitely recommend for good views of the city. There are a good few steps and they are quite narrow and are used for people going up and down. There also is not a lot of space to move around at the top. None of this stuff bothered me but might for some people. 6 euro for a ticket including some displays and to see the church as well.

We passed by, but didn't enter, as my old parents were not willing to climb the tower and as we had been to many churches already in Porto, this time we decided to just enjoy it from the outside. Still - what a magnificent building it is! It is so big it is just unimaginable! And the tower is a very nice guide for the city - whenever you feel lost, just walk a bit to see the tower ( if you don't already) and you know your way :) And the tram tours start just in front of the tower :)

Once you get to the top, the view from this architectural masterpiece is spectacular. Be aware that on a busy day, people going up struggle with those descending to pass one another. If you’re uncomfortable with tight spaces, avoid going at peak times. This applies especially for the last few flights shortly before the top.

The Clérigos Church is a genuine Baroque work from the mid-19th century. The place to go if you want scenic city views! Ideal to reserve ahead of time to save yourself some waiting time in the queue. We went around 11:30 on a Sunday without a reservation, waited in line for around 20 or so minutes, got a ticket for 12:30, so had to come back around then, at which time we could just enter the building. The entire experience took approximately 1 hour. Once we got to the tower section there was still a 20-30 minutes wait. 10 minutes or so to climb (part of the time is the difficulty navigating around people coming down the tour steps- the space is quite narrow). Beautiful views from the top of the tower. Lots of people but view is worth it. I imagine there may be similar views you could get for free in Portugal but for 8euros, worth.

They have Holy Mass in English, probably only English mass in Porto - every Saturday at 17:00, 30 min before mass confession but you need to ask the priest week before. The church itself is very pretty inside and during the mass they play on organ which is very good experience. I truly recommend visiting it no matter if for mass or not, they also have some concerts with lights experience which seems to be good alternative for people who enjoy classical music. You can enter the church if you want to pray for free, otherwise you pay ticket.

It is a wonderful building built in the 18th century. You should definitely go to see the city of Porto view and enjoy it. Depending on the weight, you can go to this tower for a certain fee. (Stairs can tired you out a bit) Employees control the crowd well. You don't waste time when you go up. Definitely advised to go.

(Translated by Google) It is 76 meters high, was built in the 18th century and has long been the tallest building, serving as a lighthouse for ships. It is undoubtedly one of the architectural symbols of the city and is not just a bell tower, but a whole complex consisting of from it, from a church and a museum. The church was the first to be built in the shape of an ellipse. In addition, the gallery that surrounds the nave is also unique. The penetrating sun rays through the windows touch the golden ceiling and the marble cladding of the walls, light streams and all this makes the colors shine in a special way. Architect Niccolo Nazoni is also buried here, according to whose design the bell tower and the church were built. You can climb the tower by 225 steps and enjoy the view of the city for a ticket worth 6 euros, if you decide to do it at night, you can buy a ticket earlier. The building, located between the church and the bell tower, was once a hospital where medical assistance was provided to the clergy. It is now a museum that takes us back in time with its furniture, works of art and jewelry. There is a park with places for recreation and a cafe nearby.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful views of the entire city from the top of the tower, although it is somewhat crowded. If it is already difficult to see the landscape "quietly" from above in times of COVID (restricted rises in number of people), I don't even want to think what it would be like before ... € 6 a visit to the museum and ascent from the top church and finally to the tower. What a wonderful day in the Geres National Park - Autumn is magical time even 2020 - at least in Northern Portugal. I Arrived in Porto at night and my friend suggested to go kayaking & trekking the next morning, the best idea! Easy pick up in the city and on the road on our way. Morning haze was lifting up while we headed towards the park, revealing the beautiful countryside of Portugal to a new sunny day. All tiredness of travel washed away in the pristine waters of river beauty and scented air of eucalyptus and pine. Kayaking was so good and to my surprise it was still comfy to swim - bit cool at first and then it was very nice indeed. I even got to try paddle board - and I could not believe how easy that was! Lovely villages, waterfalls, trees, scrubs, even flowers everywhere. Such a bliss to all senses and so grounding and invigorating after so many months of restrictions. Fresh air and historical villages, small group in land rover, which literally drives through every possible road and track. Guide, Luis took such a great care of us all and we five travelers had many interesting discussions with each other and of course with him. Relaxed and unforgettable experience. This will stay in my best memories.

We have visited Geres national park, which is definitely one of the mustdo tours if you are vacationing in Porto. The trip was well-organised while Luis also nicely adapted to our relaxed mood. We had a great time kayaking and swimming in the best hidden spots of the park. The lunch was delicious, too. Thank you so much Luis for this experience!:D PS. I guess it is also important to mention to the guide your expectations about the tour. We wanted to swim mainly, that's why the hikes were really short. If you are more into long hikes, the tour can be easily adjusted.

The best day tour in Porto A really enjoyable day. We started early in the morning and we arrived at the Fafião village around 10 am. We left the 4x4 and after we hiked a little, we arrived at the first spot: the waterfalls. What a place ?! It was a big waterfall with crystal clear water that ended up to a small lake. The purity of the landscape was so tempting. Fortunately, I had my swim shorts, so I got in the lake. The water is so cold this time of the year but at the same time it's so refreshing. After that, we hiked back to the 4X4 and went to a viewpoint where one can have a majestic 360° view of the place. Then, we went to the only restaurant of the village and had a hearty meal of traditional Portuguese food. At that point, we had the change to get to know each other and recharge our batteries. Afterwards, we headed to a different waterfall, and then we explored the Fojos do lobo (an old wolf trap). The day ended by returning to the village where a fundraising auction was taking place. We had the chance to interact with local people who seemed really warm-hearted and treated us with some local wine. Last but not least, this day wouldn't have been so great if we hadn't Luiz (our guide). For the whole trip he was trying to make everybody feel comfortable. He told us a lot about the flora and fauna of Gerês and the way of living in Fafião village. Everyone in the village knew him and that means that these kind of tours really benefit local people. You should try it !!! P.S. trekking boots would be really helpful

A rainy day in May my boyfriend and me had a day long tour with a super cool and laidback guide called Luis. Since Covid19 still affected the country the company had taken certain safetymeasures. We wore masks sitting in the car, and we were only 4 people, and outside we kept the safety distance. We felt really safe and well taken care of. Even though it was raining, we had a awesome time with good food, kayak, swimming, hiking and offroad jeep ride. We also learned about Portuguese food and history. I really recommend exploring Geres with these guys. They have a lot of experience, and know special places in the park. It is a good option for those who want a intresting, fun, relaxing and active excursion. Thank You Oporto Adventure Tours, And hope to see you again soon

We did the 4X4 tour which went up the mountain in Gerês Park. We hiked up/down two different trails which ended at waterfall/lagoon locations. The natural beauty of the park is amazing. Breathtaking views all around and absolute wonder for Mother Nature. It’s an awe inspiring experience. Luis was our guide and is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was courteous, funny, informative, and most of all responsible. You can tell he enjoys what he does and takes pride in making sure you get the most out of your adventure. The lunch is a real full blown sit down Portuguese meal and absolutely fantastic. Lastly, he was great with my kids and kept them engaged answering all their questions, no matter how silly. Thank you Luis!

Though a little past due (told you I would post, Miguel ;) ), I had the pleasure of going Canyoning last September with Miguel and the crew- it was amazing. They were very professional, passionate, and so much fun! I actually had gone canyoning the day before with another company, and I am SO thankful I decided to tough it out and go again with Oporto Tours! The experience was incomparable. The views were incredible, the jumps were a blast, not to forget the car ride and fun spot for lunch afterwards were all quite an adventure! I could not recommend this enough if you're at all interested in hiking, adventure, waterfalls, cliff jumping, jokes :) , and meeting lovely people along the way.

The day trip with the Oporto Adventures team was the highlight of our stay in Porto. You get to spend some time in nature, hike and enjoy amazing waterfalls and swimming in lagoons. Everything is also organised with a huge respect to the community in Geres and some funds from the purchased tickets go to special projects that are supposed to help preserving this beautiful place. Special thanks to Rui, who is such a natural as a guide. He tried to chat at least a bit with all of us (8 participants), explained the most important things about Geres and its community and made us feel comfortable. Obrigada Rui!

So worth the admission fee. Very well organized self tour of the tower. Climing up the stairs could be little tiring but it isn’t too bad. They take turns in going up and down the marrow stairs so you gotta wait for your groups turn to go up or down. If you miss it you can join the next group going up or down. View from the tower is amazing especially the south west view.

  • 5/5 Beáta K. 2 years ago on Google
I absolutely loved it. After we claimed the tower we need to eat some pastry from the nearby Cafe. The Christ exhibition was one of my favorites and most memorable part of my Porto tour besides the feeling of the city.

A point of interest to visit with history. The ticket price per adult is 6 euros, but it is worth it. Besides visiting the tower with a 360° view of the city of Porto, you can also visit a small museum of religious wood sculptures and the church through balconies. The view from the top of the tower is spectacular, but wear a jacket because is cold and windy. As you go up the tower the stairs get narrower until only fit one person.

  • 5/5 Moisés F. 2 years ago on Google

Fantastic views of Porto! I booked at 19:30 (earlier in the day) to be there for sunset and the platform was packed but still got a space. The stairs are narrow so take your time. It’s a EURO cheaper if you go after 7pm and the toilets are closed when the museum is closed. When you’re on the deck there’s information about various buildings all over the world.

  • 5/5 Justin B. 1 year ago on Google
Steps, steps and more steps... What an experience climbing up to the top of tower the way they did back in the day. Tight passages and flights of stairs. The church was having a baptism while we were inside which was cool. I would highly recommend this be on your list of places to see while in Porto.

  • 5/5 tony v. 1 year ago on Google
Since it’s the middle of October it’s simple to just walk up pay your six euros per person and head on through the tower. There are several floors and exhibits dating back to the early 1700s. Keep making your way around and eventually you’ll start climbing up the steep one-way staircase. There will be people coming down as you’re going up so it’s sometimes difficult. Once you get up top you’ll have excellent views of Porto expanding all the way across the river. There are landmarks and buildings pointed out on the railing of which direction they are and you could see them in the distance. Definitely worth a visit and a good healthy way to get to the top

  • 4/5 Joanna V. 1 year ago on Google
Very cool 360 degree City view. I would imagine it’s crazy cramped if it’s super busy, but we had a smaller day so it was okay. If you’re interested in the museum/church part, take your time before the tower, because you can’t go back later to the church part after the tower. Good rainy day activity.

  • 5/5 Tauana T. 11 months ago on Google
Very pretty. I recommend getting the €15 combo ticket, you’ll have access to the museum, the church, the tower and to the light show (evenings). There’s about 200 something steps to climb to get to the top but it’s ok. I also recommend going in the early morning though cause it does get very crowded at the tower.

  • 5/5 Alexandra D. 1 year ago on Google
Just amazing. The view over Porto is breathtaking. The tower is 76 meters high and has about 225 steps

  • 5/5 Starasia S. 1 year ago on Google
One of the best things to do in Porto if you can climb 150+ stairs to the tower. The 360 view of the city is spectacular! You can go inside the church for free if you can’t climb the tower.

  • 5/5 Viola B. 1 year ago on Google
Cool experience! By paying a 5 euros ticket which includes the museum too, you can go up this tower to see the city from above. Going up is easy and the stairs are well maintained. The view is worthy and it can grant a 360 observation of Porto

  • 5/5 A J. 9 months ago on Google
Beautiful church full of beautiful features.€8to climb the tower .very tight spaces

  • 5/5 UHenningsen 9 months ago on Google
Highly recommended for an excellent view over the city! You will have to climb a slightly narrow staircase, and that’s also the only way down and might get crowded later in the day. The chapel is also very beautiful with an interesting exhibition inside, absolutely worth the minimal entrance fee of 8 euros! You can purchase the tickets online in advance

  • 5/5 Sarah A. 8 months ago on Google
Quite a lot of steps but very much worth it. Go alllll the way up. You also get to see the church from up while inside touring every corner. Buy tickets online or in advance as they don’t have spots to let you in right away. That way you can schedule your visit and wait much less at entrance.

  • 5/5 Mirena T. 8 months ago on Google
We had a night ticket at 20:30 and the timing was just perfect: you can spot sunset and also night views. It is very windy though, so be prepared. It is best to buy tickets online a couple of hours in advance as you mights need to wait for 2 hours during the peak.

  • 4/5 Steppenfuchs 6 months ago on Google
The view is very nice but it's extremely cramped at the very top. People need to stop stand in one place for 15 min+ and be considerate of the situation. They literally create a congestion where no one can go up or down. Maybe add a traffic light at the top so people can go up and down.

  • 4/5 D B. 7 months ago on Google
First steps inside the building were a bit meh as there were too many things written, specially names that we will hardly remember later. But after you start to go up you see a beautiful view around. It's nearly 80m tall so you're able to see many things around, including important historical spots from Porto. Totally worth the visit!

Clerigos is the only church at the moment celebrating English mass every Saturday at 5:00PM, The church by itself is very beautiful and located in the centre of Porto, Also, you can take a tour inside the church and they have light shows called Spiritus which was magnificent
