We experienced a very pleasant greeter who helped us make reservations for later in the evening. When we arrived, we waited a few extra minutes for our table - there was a consistently long wait outside. João was our waiter and was beyond friendly and helpful. He really made the dinner fun. The only challenge we had was that the food was so rich and filling. If you get the same service and food we had, you'll love this place.

We came for the francesinha, it seems like almost everyone is having it in the restaurant. It was delicious. I got the half size, but it was plenty to keep me going for the day! The sangria was also really excellent and the beer was served in ceramic cups which kept the beer really cold. A special thanks to the service from Samurai and Joanna who made us feel very welcome. We were in a party of only English and only Spanish speakers mixed, and they easily managed to help everyone have a great experience.

We were recommended to try this place by a local friend. For the 2 weeks stay in Porto, we ended up coming here twice as we enjoyed it so much. Must try the francesinha for the traditional taste (but it’s quite large so I always shared with the whole table). Matthew made us a porto tonic and it was so pretty and interesting! Also recommend the octopus salad - my absolute favorite! We also tried fried onion, aubergine, and beef salad and they were all alright. Highly recommend!

The experience here was so good!! Service was unreal. Our server was Veronica and she was amazing and Matteo was great! Samuel also gave us wonderful recommendations for our short trip to Porto! Can’t wait to come back. :) it was perfect, perfect, perfect. Thank you! From your friendly Canadians.

Very popular restaurant with both locals and tourists. We walked in for lunch and managed to get a table. But probably better book in advance. Fun atmosphere, we were seated upstairs with low ceiling. Food was okay, quite heavy in general.

(Translated by Google) The francesinha from Cervejaria Brasão is certainly the best I've ever eaten !. I've been to Aliados and Coliseu, both offer the same quality, flavor and standard of products and services. There is no way to have tasted it and not to miss it so much. I confess that the place is a bit small, the decoration old, as in most houses of this type of commerce in Portugal, but I like the decoration or, even, the lack of concern with it in some cases. History is present at Aliados and the atmosphere is incredible! The beer is strong, has an intense bitter taste and is always cold, as a real beer must be. Perfect environment to create unforgettable memories!

Had an amazing dinner here! Make sure to make reservation ahead of time. The line started before the place was open, even if you had a reservation. Food was amazing the service was just as good! Portion was quite big for the main dish, the goat salad was out of this world delicious!

The ambience and the service is really good. Enjoyed my first francesinha here. If its your first time trying francesinha then its a good idea to try it here first. Will probably recommend to get the half portion. In my experience, its an acquired taste. You’ll be confused the first time, whether you like it or not, but you’ll eventually look for it in the coming days.

We had the most amazing host, Joana. We were running late and she held our table for us and walked us through the menu. She recommended the traditional sandwich and dessert. The food did not disappoint. We left full hearts and bellies. Definitely recommend.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. If in Porto, one definitely needs to stop at this place! The best service, the best food and great price! Avoid the hipster tourist traps and have a proper meal. Even the half portions are big enough to share. Enjoy the nicest waiters and please don’t leave without trying their DELICIOUS lemon meringue pie! It was a great surprise, but I mean, this whole experience was such a great surprise we came twice in a row. You definitely know how to run a business and run it with Pride! All places should be like this! Absolutely incredible guys!

We struggled getting a table for 2 Tuesday and Wednesday night but wasn't long waiting for a table. We had the ribs and steak and both were amazing. The only issue is that with the steak it says with chips but they are actually crisps which I wouldn't have cared but the crisps were stale tasting and hard to eat. The cocktails were lovely and only 6 euro each which was a bargain. Staff were friendly and good atmosphere.

This is one out of 2 best reataurants we had during our short visit to Oporto. Marla was super great, giving suggestion on the food and dessert.. very friendly and attentive. I would say all of the staffs there were very friendly and nice. All of the food we had were super delicious, very tasteful and beyond our imagination. The desserts were good to close the experience there. It is strongly suggested to make reservation before you come. Definitely will come back !!

That was an incredible experience. You will probably wait to be seated but it's worth it. Francesinha here is a refined version and it is much better tasting, good ingredients are used for sure. If you like sour desserts, ask for the lemon tarte. If you like soft desserts, go for the creme of the heaven.

I took cod in beer sauce. The piece of fish was very small and not really tasty. There was very little sauce which was actually delicious! The idea of serving it with chips is a bit weird to me. Overall, the dish tasted average and was not worth the price. The restaurant is beautiful. The service tries to be attentive but because of crowd seems to be a bit overwhelemed.

There you can taste traditional Portuguese food and it's very delicious! Probably should not eat before for a while to manage to fit this food in your stomach, cause it's quite heavy, so be prepared! Very good service, very friendly prices and this Sangria will stay in my heart forever ♥

I was recommended by friends to have a go at this restaurant. Francesinha to be more specific, that was the goal. I knew it was a heavy food so I ordered 1 francesinha for 2. It was plenty, with an egg on top and a side of home made fries as well. A cup (balloon glass) of sangria to drink. Perfect! Check the pictures. By the way, make a reservation in advance or you’ll be waiting outside the restaurant. A very good experience, specially since we had a table for 2 on the 1st floor. The interior is very cosy, dim lights, dark wood furniture and floor. The staff is super friendly and made us feel welcome all the way through. If you come to Porto, give this one a go, you’ll not regret it.

Ok now I understand the hype: I would visit Porto again just to come back to this place. We had what I would say the best sangria in my life, and I live in Spain so yeah. The octopus is quite simply incredible, perfect texture and taste, high quality product. We had the onion because if seems like one of the best things and it was good, not amazing, just good as it was a tad bit raw in the middle of the onion. Then we went for the safe bet with the main event, the so called Francesinha and they said this is the best one in the world; it is very good, packed with lots of different flavours and enough for two, I enjoyed this plate a lot but It is not something I would order again as there ate many other attractive options in the menu. Best part was the lemon merengue, absolutely delicious, spectacular, my girl and I both smiled all the way until there was nothing left on the plate. The place is spectacular, price is correct for what you get, the people working here very nice… I couldnt not find a single small mistake that would make take one star from this review.

Great Francesinha experience in this institution of the Portuguese dish. The atmosphere is warm and dynamic and so was out waiter Leo who was great. We felt he gave us personalized service. The dish itself is alright, it's good to try although probably not going to eat it often (if ever) again in the future. Recommended! PS: make a reservation a few days in advance.

(Translated by Google) The site is not an authentic brewery. It is something recent with pretending decoration. Very friendly service but always pushing things. Francesinha very rich and stuffed, but steak a little difficult to cut and also use a white sausage, German type, which is not my style. Sauce is thick, but not spicy. In short, good for Instagram but the price / quality ratio and authenticity leaves something to be desired. Price with chips, Seven Up and entrees: 16.80 Eur. Preço com batata frita, Seven Up e entradas: 16.80 Eur.

We arrived around 10 minutes before opening and there was already a pretty big line in front of the restaurant. We were able to get a table for two hours (didn't have a reservation), which was enough. Service was fast and professional. The food was good and the portions were generous (maybe we ordered more than needed, the francesinha could have been shared) . We really liked the fact that the fries were real ones, not from a bag. Also, the sangria was really good, it had lots of fruits in it I also liked the concept of the place, it's modern day inn

Very nice restaurant in Porto with authentic local food. However, the queue is usually extremely long so you should make a reservation prior to the date. All the snacks and appetizers are very tasty. I highly recommend the octopus salad, as it is the best dish in my opinion. The local menu is alright but i dont blame the place.

I had an incredible dining experience at a Portuguese restaurant in Porto, thanks to the awesome staff member, Deisy! Her exceptional service, fluency in both English and Spanish, made the experience even better. The food was fantastic, with speedy service and mouthwatering dishes such as the shrimp croquette, steak, fried onion, and a delightful traditional pastry filled with minced meat. Every bite was delicious, and the portions were generous. I highly recommend making a reservation before visiting, as the restaurant tends to be packed.

Come and get the town’s best Francenchina. Do not breakfast, or anything the prior day for that matter. These things are enormous. The place has a great vibe and lovely wooden interior giving it an older aged style feel. The staff are friendly, speak English and are open to a chat if you are. The food is really high quality, good portion size and fairly priced. Why not also try one of their fantastic drinks; be it a bowl sized sangria with more fruit than the local market, or a malty house made IPA that is served in ceramic, like their great grandad drank out of. Highly recommend. Wear your stretchy pants.

We were totally underwhelmed by our experience in Brasao. The food quality was not noteworthy at all, and the portions were too large for a person. Although the place was well-decorated and had a decent interior, the service was surprisingly poor and subpar. We were seated on the second level and we barely saw the service crew hence, if we needed anything, there was nobody to attend to us. We had to go down looking for a server to assist us. The time we had to endure to wait for the food was gruelling. We also noticed that there might seem to have poor communication among the crew: we readily ordered for the lemon dessert to be served after the entrees, but lo and behold, we were given the menu again while the server expected us to peruse for a dessert. When the bill came, we were even wrongfully charged for items we did not have. Food= mediocre. Service= terrible. Cost= expensive.

A big shout out to the crew here for the warmth of their hospitality. We are a family of four who all absolutely loved their experience tonight. We were made. To feel special even though the place was thumping The food was exceptional! Although I think the waiter Walther was the extra bit if magic that made the night so special. His passion for his craft was beautiful. The entire team under the care of Samurai made our Porto experience special

Totally recommended! This place has a lot of personality, is authentic, and the service is really great. They created a kind of upper floor, small but very cozy! We had the steak with mushrooms and the vegetarian francesinha. Really good and big portions! The french fries can be addictive 😅!

Best Portuguese food with the most friendly staff and wonderful ambience! Make sure you make a reservation; otherwise go once they are open otherwise the queue could get really long. We had lunch there and enjoyed the experience very much. Highly recommend for their Sangria, Mushrooms and Asparagus in Smoked Ham Lard, Laminated Octopus with Green Sauce and the steak! Totally worth it for a very reasonable price!!

The place is great (I recommend to make reservation earlier because without it, I had to wait about 10 min for the table for two). You can feel the Portuguese spirit within this place and obviously the food. It was delicious! First I've had a francesinha and then lemon cake. Also, the service was great (every person I've talked to spoke English well), especially our personal waiter Suel. He recommended to me both wine and dessert which complemented each other greatly. He could speak both Spanish and English and even let me practice Portuguese with him for a moment (thank you very much for that!).

A great spot to have a classic francesinha! We were able to have dinner as late as 10pm and although it was quite busy, we were quickly seated. The service was exceptionally good. Our waiter, Pablo was so pleasant and attentive, making sure we are comfortable and satisfied throughout our dinner, which we definitely were! Definitely a place I’ll be recommending to anyone visiting Porto!

I must express that the restaurant exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Our waiter, Walther, truly stood out with his exceptional service, making us feel truly cherished. He provided excellent suggestions for both food and drinks, which was particularly helpful since we were visiting from London and were unfamiliar with Portuguese cuisine. Following his recommendations, we were delighted with our dining experience. His warm hospitality made our evening even more memorable. The food was not only delicious but also of great quality, and the overall atmosphere was superb. Without a doubt, this is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a remarkable culinary experience in Porto. <3

Best service by Yvonne. Other staffs were also very friendly. The Francesihna lives up to the expectations. The Desserts were beyond excellent. However the tenderloin steak was quite chewy, and the Pika-Pau was salty. Fries were on the cold side when served. But overall, food still taste amazing otherwise. My family couldn’t stop raving about how much they enjoyed the experience. Overall I would recommend anyone to come dine at Brasão Aliados. Don’t forget to book in advance!

The food was served hot and delicious. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. We had a few minute wait which wasn’t bad however there isn’t much shade outside. We ordered the Francesinha one with egg without. We got a side of French fries which I would recommend as it goes super well with the sauce/gravy. We will be back before we leave Porto!

Food is good! But the atmosphere is a little weird. We had a reservation and got the worst table (under a very low ceiling which is not suitable for tall people). Also beware of the common practice of restaurants in Portugal: they will serve you some chips or small plates at the beginning without ordering them and expect to pay. We said "no thank you" and they took it back. They still tried to charge us for it though. They corrected it after we mentioned it.

This place was recommended by a friend. We of course had the francesinha, but for me the pork was the star! Perfectly cooked and such a great flavour. Was definitely surprised by the crisps that came with the pork 😅. But still a great experience Marla was amazing, super friendly and helpful. We said no to the bread and olives so more room for the mains.

Came to try the francesinha and wasn't disappointed. Ordered a half portion with fried egg on top and it was still huge, the steak inside the sandwich was tender and tasty and the sauce was excellent. Also tried the meat croquettes and they were really good too. It's a busy spot so booking is definitely recommended but if you turn up for opening time you should get seated no problem. Have to mention the servers too who were all really friendly

We have been there as a friend recommended, the waiter couldn’t speak English and when i tried to speak Portuguese , he kept giving me the voice of “HUH?!” Then it was food, steaks had two part, tenderloin and fillet, we ordered fillet which should be larger! Though the plate came with a tiny piece of meat that i believe wouldn’t be enough even for kids…then the cobertas counted per person not for the food serve… i wont go back there probably!

Brasão in Porto is definitely my place to go for the famous sandwich Francesinha. While there’re so many places to get the sandwich, I found at brasão I can get the best taste of the Francesinha. I can choose to get only half size of the dish, and everything they do is perfectly. I love the gravy from them, so favorable and rich, and you can always ask for more if it’s not enough for you! Don’t forget to order French fries as a side to eat all the yummy gravy!! Staffs were amazingly friendly and helpful. Last time I went there they recommended me to try their truffle, meat and mushroom rissol, if you’re a fan of truffle, this starter is a must to order!! For drinks, we ordered super bock and a sangria, and it surprised me how fancy the drink was!! I’m a fan of them and I will go back whenever I’m at Porto again!

A great restaurant and a great experience overall! The food is delicious and very well served and the decoration and general environment are very cosy and comfortable. All the waiters, no exception (really), were extremely nice to us, always with a smile on their faces and ready to help. That is truly a core aspect of a restaurant service and it's really nice to see such a good group of professionals. A must go when in Porto!

We had our first Portuguese food here and it tasted great. The signature sandwich was moist, flavorful and very filling. Update to 1st review.. For my birthday decided to drive 1hour to Porto for a great lunch. So glad we did. This time had the ribs with a salad of orange segments with slivers of red onion bathed in a vinaigrette. So so good. Not only was the food tasty but had the same server and as usual he was great. Ana (the manager I think) even remembered us and what we ordered the 1st time.....wwwhhattt who can remember that stuff. Lol Always nice to be remembered and of course dine, not just eat a meal..and we will be back again next time in Porto! Original review; Had a most wonderful lunch here. Timeless beautiful vintage interior and Ricardo was an Excellent server. He gave recommendations that were soooo tasty. Very attentive made sure everything was great. (it was)! Beware though, the lunch meals are as large portioned as dinner, so leave enough time between meals. We left in a food coma! lol I Can't wait to go back next time we are in Porto! Go.. Go.. Go.. (Oh and they have 3 locations. Must be doing something right)

Very good francesinha but not the best I have had in Porto. The service was very good and the overall food quality and prices were good. However, they put us on a table in a small underground floor (although we had made a reservation in advance), where there were no windows or ventilation whatsoever. The atmosphere there was restraining. Also there were no other measurements such as plastic walls between tables or similar to do some protections against covid. There were 4-5 different couples in this tiny room and probably not even 1.5 meters of distance so it was not really the safest and most comfortable experience. Other people were also complaining about the same there. The restaurant was full so a change of table was not an option. I recommend to specifically ask for a table in the upper floor when doing the reservation.

(Translated by Google) Very good Francesinha with the typical port sauce, quality filling and fresh fries! Good craft beer, and the curd pudding is the icing on the cake (thanks Ricardo for the recommendation). (Original) Francesinha muito boa com o típico molho à porto, recheio de qualidade e batata frita fresca! Boa cerveja artesanal, e o pudim de requeijão é a cereja no topo do bolo (obrigado Ricardo pela recomendação).

(Translated by Google) Very welcoming space. The attendants are very attentive, friendly and take any questions about the good dishes. The dishes are a delight. One thing or another could have more spice or more salt, but that is personal taste. I highly recommend the bleeds of red wine and white wine, I found them wonderful!

Very delicious francesinha sandwich (very typical meal for Porto, created by Daniel da Silva in 1953). The sangria was great as well. Recommend.

Nice local restaurant, i would recommend to book a table in order, we had to wait also at lunch and dinner time. We ate francesinha with egg-it was really delicious. Waitress was friendly, food was yummy, beer was also great... we wanted to try a dessert but after francesinha we were full 😄 it was definitely worth waiting for the table 😊

Seated immediately with no reservation. Incredibly friendly team. Fast service. Good was pretty impressive servings and so delicious! Truffle appetizer stole the show. Salads are large enough for 2-3 people. And lemonade is fresh. Definitely recommend!

Service was quick and staff are nice. Appetizers were delicious and 30 years port wine (despite the price) was really fantastic. The only bad and annoying point from our experience is the smell of french fries. French fries has the smell of fish. Kind lady change it once but the smell was not gone. Based my experience they are probably using this oil for frying eggs or they used linseed oil.

The food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional! The waiters were helpful to explain the menu in detail and make perfect drink recommendations as well. My wife and I were impressed with everything from start to finish. It's best to have reservations at this spot but we were lucky and got a table for two. The food was the star though. You have to come and eat here! For a fraction of the price in the USA.

After long day in Vigo we came here for dinner. Do not plan to come here without reservation, best option is online via website. Its always fully booked, and there is reason for it! Francesicnha and potato were great. Mateus and Lorena were great host, they know english verry good (not common in Porto). If I can find something that was not good - there could be some music, just like in background, not to laud.
