We booked this hotel based on the reviews that said that it was about a 20 minute walk to the center of town. While this is true, the walk is extremely lonely and unsafe, both day and night. I would certainly not recommend this hotel for someone looking to walk around Porto and have easy access to the center or anything remotely interesting in the city. Even though we did rent a car, it is still an inconvenient hotel. The hotel itself is a good value for the money. The rooms are quite large and clean, and the AC functions very well. The beds are firm and comfortable. The tv also has many channels to choose from, including some in English. The Wi-Fi also works very well.

Völlig in Ordnung für den Preis. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend. Der Service ist nett und die Zimmer betreffend flink. Kleine Mängel wurden sofort behoben. Das Ausleeren des außen angebrachten Aschenbechers und das Nachfüllen von Getränken im Automaten sollte regelmäßiger gemacht werden. Für einen Städtetrip ist das Hotel prima geeignet.

We had a very pleasant stay at Tryp hotel. It is relatively close to Santa Caterina street. But what we liked the most is the attention to the client and the staff! We got greeted by a really amazing person Helena and we loved her warm welcome, helpful tips and special attention to our 4 years old son. We definitely recommend it.

Friendly staff, reasonably priced, ok hotel, good location

Great hotel and value for your money! The rooms on the top floor are amazing, with a spacious bathroom and a balcony. Room had a mini fridge and closet. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff was always very friendly and around to help. Would recommend!

Very nice hotel! Good bang for the buck! Comfy bed! Also very hygienic which is very important for me! Brekkie is good! My room was on the 4th floor with a big terrace! Defo recommended!

There's a very kind and helpful receptionist. We've just stepped from the street and asked a favour to print our boarding passes. He helped us and it was evident to him. Obrigado 😊

Very nice hotel. Staff was always available, kind and polite. The room hygiene is very good and the beds are very comfortable.

Hotel, very clean. Beds were comfortable. Some staff were friendly and helpful, however some including a male manager was loathe to help as we had pre booked some of our trips. No tea or coffee making facilities. We we're told we only had a standard room! We are used to staff being very happy and helpful at all times. X

Good breakfast, helpful staff and a really nice bed. The only thing was that I made a request, for a little surprise, because it was my girlfriend's birthday, and when we got to the room, nothing. They didn't pay attention to what I wrote in my reservation. Despite that, everything went nicely. Overall, they are a good hotel, they just need to pay more attention to reservation requests. And specially when you wanted to pay for it.

Very clean. The cleanest and freshest I've ever seen my room each day after they serviced it. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Parking was limited (they also have limited paid spots) but I was able to get a free spot each night. My only issue with this hotel is that it is located about 20 minutes (walking) from the main areas in Porto. This alone isn't terrible, but it is all uphill on the way back to the hotel. The surrounding area also felt unsafe and not very populated after dark.

I've been there in the 4th of January of 2021. I don't know if covid has something to do with it but they didn't let us serve our selves our own breakfast Wich was a very uncomfortable experience I've been in others hotels during the Covid-19 and I were allowed to serve my breakfast my self . Also they didn't serve the half of the food you see in the photos, so if you like me are impressed by the photos I just need to say to you don't create high spectations cause you're going to be disappointed. So Porto was very cold at the time we went there. To be precise was 32 degrees fahrenheit, 0 degrees Celsius, and the heater was not working properly. Was very cold in the room. Plus the package that we payed was 62 euros, that included a lot of this, one of the things was a bathrobe and slippers, Wich was not there when we got in the room I know is a little thing but we payed extra money for those little things. And is by these little things that we can feel more welcomed or not. It was an unfortunate situation to have to ask for things that was supposed to be there already you know? You couldn't get your breakfast also to eat in the room Wich is weird also. But anyway was the whole set of little things that contributed to a bad experience. A positive thing was the reception , the young man Peter, was impeccable and the lady also, he was in the night shift and she was in the morning shift. The two blond young ladies that served our breakfast well I could tell by their faces they were moody like I felt that they didn't want to serve us or they were not happy with our presence there, I could get that mood literally in the air. The hotel is clean and organized. But my conclusion would be, if I don't feel embraced or welcomed in a place that I'm paying to stay, so why would I come back there? I'm certainly not !
