😠 This is not a francesinha unfortunately. When it comes to this wonderful portuense dish, the sauce has to be made in a specific way, which was absolutely not the case here. Anybody who ate many francesinhas in their life would look at this sauce and know immediately that it's not suitable. Too water... People often mention francesinha,

Wood grilled pizza stove. Francesinha was one of the best I've ever had and it came with a bread basket and fries.

This is not a francesinha unfortunately. When it comes to this wonderful portuense dish, the sauce has to be made in a specific way, which was absolutely not the case here. Anybody who ate many francesinhas in their life would look at this sauce and know immediately that it's not suitable. Too watery, barely has any beer in it, TERRIBLE. I used to come here in 2019, everything was great, the food, the staff etc... Now.. We just have the name that's left, it looks like the restaurant was sold to someone else as everything's different. We also had to wait for an hour, for no reason. Ps: if you're craving a francesinha, please don't come here.

Very authentic Portuguese eatery at very affordable prices amidst a pretty up market area. The ambience is cozy, staff amicable especially at the bakery counter which of out of this world always smiling. The wine was brilliant, cod fish could’ve been more hopeful. The chicken lasagne was good, so was the mini steak was well prepared the grilled sausage though didn’t live up. On the whole,a very conveniently located restaurant of you’re in the area.

Restaurant was only serving one table which should have been a warning sign. Knife and tablecloth we're both dirty. Dish ordered was not available but was not told. Food itself (grilled veal) was oily and not seasoned and there was no salt and pepper on the table. When the pepper arrived the shaker was dirty. All in all quite poor. Porto and Portugal were lovely though and a number of restaurants we're really great.

Great food - Had the house special francesinha with pineapple and shrimp. Might be uncultured according to the other reviews of this not being authentic, but I loved it.

This is a very popular restaurant near the center of Porto. We visited and wanted a small bite and ordered their pizza with beef and pineapple. The pineapple they used on their pizza is a candied pineapple. Not what you're used to in the United States. It was wonderfully different. It made the pizza very sweet. Diabetics pay attention. You'll need some extra insulin if you have this pizza. I enjoyed it. That would definitely consider returning.

Early lunch, so very quiet. Spoke with a resident later who recommended it for an evening meal.

We just had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant. My husband had the (large) tuna salad and I had the Bife a Portobello which was a filet with sautéed portobello and it tasted like a Madeira / BBQ sauce. It was absolutely delicious. We finished it off with Brigadeiros which blew our minds plus delicious, strong coffee. We both have to eat gluten free and we had no problem with any of these dishes. I would add their house wine was better than typical. We will definitely go back! Don't be put off by the name of the restaurant if you're gluten free. We couldn't eat them, but the Francinihas and the pizzas were cooked in a wood fired oven and also looked delicious.

We ordered two Francesinhas, one especiale with 3 types of meat and egg on top for 9,50(was OK) and one francesinha da casa (with shrimps and meat) we asked if its possible to get the francesinha da casa without meat and instead with vegetarian filling as one of us don't eat meat. They said its not possible but they can make it only with shrimps. OK so far. But then it was made with frozen shrimps with horrible taste and they charged the full price of 13€ even it was much less ingredients then the especiale. You should really tell if its not fresh shrimps and give a discount if you don't make the full ingredients. At least the dessert was good. But for that price I can't give more than 2 stars

Decent prices, decent food. The sauce was too much like Bolognese for my taste. The house red wine was good. Staff was friendly and helped us since we do not speak Portuguese.

Touristic place, serves local dishes and more but the original Francesinha costs almost twice as much as in local cafes. The fries with it were cardboardy but the Francesinha was okay. Place looked well cleaned and our waitress was nice although not english speaking. Also a bit surprising to see a Francesinha with pineapple and berries on the menu.
