Well, I wish I could say I loved or hated the food since we did not get to eat there. The restaurant is located on Rua da Fonte Taurina, a very narrow street in Porto. This restaurant, had tables and umbrellas opened on both sides of the street making it hard to see where the entrance to the restaurant was. My husband and I, looking for a place to eat, were walking on this street and my mistake was, since I could not see the restaurants’ door, to ask one of the guests where the entrance was. A waiter stormed out of the restaurant asking me what I wanted, I apologized and explained my confusion, he pushed me out of the way and showed me a line where to wait. I said “do not touch me”, he was not gentle when he pushed me out. He started yelling”no, there is no room for you, it is closed, get out!” At this point, the owner storms out of the restaurant, started yelling to get out, which we were, but the two men had us trapped between the two of them. We told them we would definitely not want to eat there. I demanded to have the name of the restaurant, the owner, Firmino Barbosa Pinheiro, grabbed his business card, opened my dress and shoved it in my breast. At this point, my husband, who is 77 years old (I am 62) tried to push him away. The owner slapped me hard on my head, the other waiter jumped in and pushed us about 20 feet away and between the two of them, threw us on our backs on the cobblestone street. Need to say that guests and restaurant employees interfered on our behalf, but we got hurt regardless. After filing a police report, I am writing this from the emergency room in Porto. My husband needed 7 X-Rays of his back and shoulder and a CT Scan. To bad I did not get the name of the waiter who started this fight. I should have read other reviews from this platform and others, they clearly complain about the service to include drunk owner. Please be aware and careful if you wish to eat here.

Worse than the experience of dining in a "restaurant" I have not yet experienced. It all started with a rude waiter who did not even say hello, taking the order did not say a word. They put a basket of buns on the table, which are a free compliment in all normal establishments, later it turned out that payment was made for each bun, which was not warned. The quality of food left much to be desired, it's not even the level of a school cafeteria. But the worst thing was that we found a black hair in the grilled cod. Since we were sitting on the terrace, they tried to convince us that the hair could fall from a passerby, although it was clear that he got there during cooking. I do not recommend to anyone.

Food is good. However, the rude service really ruined our time here. Servers were rushing us since we arrived. The manager was aggressive. They messed our order and then were upset with us for their mistake. Costumers should never have to bare this lack of manners. We would discourage you to eat here if you want to enjoy your time.

Chicken salad was underwhelming. Some small amounts of dry tasteless meat. 8,5€ for that portion was way too much. Also the staff was arrogant and was lacking the Portuguese hospitality all together. Meat and fish dishes were mediocre but still overpriced. I would suggest to not go there.

Ja ging so. Das Essen war ok. Leider steht in der Karte nicht, welche Beilagen es gibt. Die Portionen beim Fisch sind ausreichend groß. Beim Fleisch etwas kleiner. Das Mango Mousse war ziemlich lecker und die Creme Catalana war auch gut. Das Personal könnte freundlicher sein. Es wird einem anfangs kleine Proben auf dem Tisch gestellt, die stehen später auch auf der Rechnung. Mhhh, ist leider so.

Horrible experience!!! They charged me $2.50 for a jug of hot water!!!!. I asked the waiter to put some Ice in the water, and they said they "don't have ice" if I want cold water I had to buy a bottle of cold water. Why didn't he say this in the first place??? But If I'm paying for the jug, I don't see an issue in throwing some ice cubes in there!!!. The arroz bacalhau was terrible, my mom couldn't even finish it. Choose any other restaurant in the area, there is plenty of nice places to eat in Porto, stay away from this scammers.

The food is really delicious and prices are moderate. Be prepared for longer waiting times during peak times. Yes, staff can be a bit stressed from time to time and forget things but they are still friendly and hey, you're on vacation, so relax and be patient. And referring to other comments here - yes, they do put some starters on your table and as anywhere else in the world, when you eat them you have to pay for them 😉! That shouldn't be a surprise.

Fortunately, we did not read the negative reviews as we would miss out. Great food, nice and helpful owner. The best place in Porto so far. I decided to write my opinion and I rarly do it, so it does have to mean something.

We said that we dont want to have „starters” so cant talk about thier quality or price. Food was fresh and tasty. The potatoes could be prepared diffrentlyThis is not expensive place. Everybody was happy about the dish.

The food is good but is not a polite way a guy came from the bar and said if we didn't order he will close the kitchen at 5 pm and open one hour later. If they explain in proper manners would be acceptable. Just fix the information in the bar and google and let the customers know that is not open between 5 and 6 or I don't know the time. Displeased with this kind of behaviour.

Took ages to bring the food and one of the waiters (tall one)was super rude, the only good thing was the octopus the tripas’ smell was terrible I couldn’t eat.

Great plane for cod and octopus, lots of delicious desserts! Location is ok - expect lots of traffic by your table. The service is…not for the faint of heart! Expect tricks and treats alike. If you order sparkling wine, expect it to be opened in dramatic fashion. The owner is omnipresent and quite the showman. You’ll get a story out of it one way or another!

What a lovely lunch my friend and I had today, I've had fish and him a salad. Not only we felt very welcomed there, we also enjoyed a tasty, filling and affordable cuisine along with some lovely green wine. Our waiter was really helpful, fun and patient and we had the chance to have a chat with the chef himself, a very kind man. I'm definitely going to come back and bring my family and friends. Thank you 🙏

Wir haben Gott sei Dank die schlechten Kritiken vorher nicht gelesen. Der junge Mann im Service war sehr freundlich. Die Sardinen die besten die ich in Porto gegessen habe. Der Rose Wein ist zu empfehlen. Die Atmosphäre ist familiär heimelig.

Enjoy a hole in the wall type of experience but in the midst of small places lies the best food around. We really enjoyed this restaurant and was satisfied with the service, the waiter and the extras that he brought us as in bread, Churice, muscles covered in yummy green pepper olive oil. We all enjoyed our food. Especially our Frango with rice potatoes and salad! Thank you for the great experience. 👏

Tried this spot for dinner after not being able to get into a popular small place. Should have looked at the reviews prior to…. We walked by and it was very busy so we figured it would be good. The waiter was not very nice and rushed us through our whole meal. The food was mediocre at best. Some dishes just drowning in a vat of olive oil. Recommend many other options over this.

Not even decent to be honest. If you’re looking for a nice place to have diner do not come here. Everything tastes like bought in the supermarket and warmed up here with some weird sauces

The man in charge of seating is absolutely rude and very loud, made for a strange and awkward experience. The food was average. I would avoid this place.

Horrible experience at this place! Pay attention to your bill in the end. Service was unacceptably slow. Owner or manager was extremely rude and disrespectful! Expensive, food was not good. We order a dish to share and they brought two dishes and yet overcharged us. The appetizers they put on the table without request and of course charged a lot for a disgusting meal and experience. The place has a lot of mosquitoes, so be prepared if you decide to go there!

Very average food. We couldn’t find another place for dinner and stumbled upon this place. We were seating inside because all of the tables outside were taken. We had a view directly into the kitchen. We watched as the server took uneaten bread from one take and put it onto ours which was appalling to us. We ordered fish and chicken. The chicken was over cooked. The rice and potatoes on the side were the only good part of the meal. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Ordered fish with potatoes. He brought me small bowl with some chunks of octopuss, several olives, a sausage and bread along with the fish. I didn't order any of these, but hey, when in Rome do as Romans do. It was just several grams of it so I thought it's a side dish ..? It was not they just sneaked several things I didn't order nor want to my plate and let me pay for it to pump up the price. Good food, but watch out for extra items

We really enjoyed this place. It is tucked away in a tiny street just off the river. The food was good, and the owner and his staff were wonderful. The whole experience was very pleasant. My wife had the cod with vegetable rice and really liked it. My stuffed squid with potatoes, rice and a side salad was also good. Our experience was nothing like the negative reviews left by other people.
