The staff is very professional & kind but the Doctor need to go back to school & take a a Humanity 101. He is the rudest doctor I’ve ever came across. He rush my mothers appointment & made sarcastic jokes about not wanting to hear her ask for help about her pain. He also ask me what language I spoke. It had nothing to do with my mothers appointment. I was there to translate language & clearly was capable of doing so. There was no language barrier. He also made a rude body contact gesture by pushing my arm back into the room to address an issue after a rush appointment. I’m no doctor but shouldn’t he read the records before our appointment. He kept mentioning he’s been doing this for many years. Well Doctor your years of service has cause you to lack compassion for your patients. Maybe you need some years off to relearn how to treat people with dignity & humanity. I wish there was no star for this doctor.

Was supposed to have a big appointment tomorrow that I scheduled over 6 weeks ago. Just got a call saying Dr. Shanbhag NEVER sent in the order. He had 6 weeks to do this, and I find out less than 24 hrs that an appointment I’ve been preparing for is now canceled. Now I am going to wait god knows how long for this appointment, especially considering my insurance hasn’t even been contacted. I am frustrated and angry because this is something that needed to be done and his carelessness is now effecting my health. I talked to a staff member today who was professional and kind, and I hope to hear back tomorrow regarding the situation. Though nothing will be able to make up for all this time going down the drain because of Dr. Shanbhag. Edit to include the following; I even called the number for to the center 3 weeks ago to CONFIRM that my appointment was booked and authorized with insurance. The guy on the end of the line said it was scheduled and therefore authorized. I ALSO sent a message in the patient portal around the same time to check in with the Doctor personally to make sure everything was set for the appointment. I never received a message back. I did everything to make sure this appointment would happen- and I was let down. Edit again: I called twice today and no one helped me. Said they would call back after taking a look at my case- and nothing. I was promised a phone call today, and I had to be the one to initiate it. I sent an email hoping to get someone’s attention. I am so over this place.

Lack of communication, lack of follow up, lack of professionalism. Would tell me they were prescribing a medication, then not call the pharmacy, and not put it into the notes. Tell me i have to come back to get the prescription, and essentially have to pay ANOTHER $40 copay for an office visit bc of their mistake. Just, no. There were several other issues - this is one of many. Basically, have had nothing but problem after problem with this office. And the office closes at 4p, but I’ve called several times at 3:40-3:45 and no one answers. If the hours are stated as 4p, then answer. If you can’t do that, change the hours to closing at 3:30p.

I received very poor patient care!!! I would NEVER go back or refer anyone to this practice!!! The doctor was rude and the office staff did not follow up with my calls. I was referred for a cortisone injection. in my hip. I was drug tested for no reason, as there was no pain management referral. I was forced to experience severe hip pain for weeks while the doctor ordered unnecessary MRI’s. I eventually found another doctor who gave me the hip cortisone injection the SAME DAY. My severe hip pain was immediately relieved!! STAY AWAY from this practice. I’m really not sure why I was treated so badly and unprofessionally.

This is one of the best National Spine and Pain centers in Virginia. Dr. Shanbhag is the most sincere, kind, and professional Doctor we have ever known. My mother is a patient and she has dementia and other issues relating to pain and has been going to this location for years; every month. It is so hard to find a healthcare provider who is genuine, and is all about patient care. I am truly so impressed and grateful of Dr. Shanbhag and Michelle and the whole office for their precise and thorough care for the past years.This is one place in healthcare where you won’t be disappointed. Thank you a million times for taking care of my mother!! Great healthcare is priceless

Dr. Shanbhag and his staff are excellent. He takes time during each appointment to be thorough, informative, and attention to my care. He fully addresses all of my concerns and has worked with me for a custom treatment plan.

Dr. Shanbhag is a top-notch physician. I’ve been under his care since 2021, and he consistently ensures I grasp both my diagnosis and treatment. Overall, it’s been a fantastic experience!

I have been going to the National Spine and Pain Center in Woodbridge for several years now and they are Fantastic! Dr. Shambhag and his PA Michelle are the best. The office staff are terrific as well. The only downside at all is the billing system. The billing office constantly texts me that I owe more than I do, do not answer the phone, and do not return phone calls. The office/billing manager has resolved the issues however but it happens a lot.
