go there if you - like to wait 1.5 hours for your dish - love any kind of meat very very very well done - enjoy hair in your meal - want to have half melted plastic cheese as a secret side dish - exchanging some words with the staff and not expecting any response

Looking to lose some weight? This is the place! If the disturbing sight of what they pretend to call food won’t put you off, then the food poisoning of the following days surely will help. Truly horrendous. Don’t go here.

Lackluster service and rather overpriced food for the quality. Despite showing up on a Saturday night with only three or four of the numerous tables occupied, the service at El Fogón was exceptionally slow, even though the hostess/waitress could be seen actually running around the restaurant throughout the night. The food arrived around 40 minutes after the order was made, with the two dished arriving separately and the ordered drink several minutes after that, with no apology or explanation (despite specifically enquiring as to what was going on). The food itself was decent but far from worthy of the 55-75 Bolivianos price tag. I specifically had the llama steak, which was okay but certainly not worth the 65 Bolivianos it cost. Overall, this restaurant's service and quality do not merit the high prices, and work can be done to improve the quality of the dining experience here.

Very kind waiters. The chicken soup is fantastic. The llama meat dish is delicious, but I still conclude that Bolivian chefs do not know how to cook. The food is of very good quality, but there is a lack of skill to cook a delicious meal.

Dry overcooked meat. Terribly blend. Expensive or what it is

I had the Llama filet. It was excellent. Little on the expensive side but probably the best Dinner I had so far in Bolivia.

Terrible service. Food took an hour and when it arrived it was missing elements and some of it was cold. Had to search around the restaurant for someone to give me the bill. They were understaffed.

According to the recommandation of the self owner we had two super expensive soups - one made of boiled patatos, also with the water in which they were boiled with a little bit of milk. The other soup was made of boiled noodles and added chopped chicken (the meat was evidently an additional rest from another meal). These rather poor improvisional ‘soups’ were at a price of 15 € each and had nothing to do with the so called typical authentic recipe as we were told. I don’t recommand this place, it’s overprised and the food is rather bad.

We found this place randomly and we’re not disappointed! Food was very delicious, local beer was great and staff very friendly. Prices were okay, not too expensive. Service was also quick, we enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone in Potosi!

Good restaurant. A bit pricy for bolivia but it's one of the few opened on Sunday evening! We tried the chicken diet soup, lama steak with herbs sauce, pizza pepperoni and fettuccine alfredo (which were linguines with a creamy mushroom sauce, nothing to do with the initial naming). The pizza is above average of what you can find in bolivia but not excellent. The rest of the dishes we tried were quite good!

Very good food. I got a triglia with some vegetables and potatos. I honestly loved it because it was simple, tasty and the quality of the fish really high! The service was nice too. I totally recommend it. One small note is that the prices are definetly higher then average. However, the portion and again the quality totally worth the money.

Great experience and very good food. However, don't eat too much in high altitude...

Amazing food, the weather outside was freezing and inside was so warm and cozy, the food was delicious and perfect for the weather. One of the best Kalapurcas I ever had

Excellent quality restaurant in the colonial part of the city. Food was first class and the service 5 star.

Excellent service! 4-course-lunch for only 40 bs. Best restaurant we‘ve found in town. If you need parking while eating there, use the parking garage in the same street for 3bs per hour.

AVOID! FOOD POISONING! after two weeks in Bolivia without any problem, a visit to this restaurant ruined the rest of our holidays. Food tasted ok, but it made me very sick afterwards. AVOID!

Very expensive for pretty standard food. The service was great! But food is not worth the price they charge,

The chicken cream was the second best soup in the world that I have ever eaten! My wife do the best one ;)

I got charged for something they first said they were not foig to charge me. Like everything in Bolivian it works backwards. The food is ok, they bring it to the table very late and the cashier over charge us all because I went with few foreigners. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE. Avoid a problem, stat away from there.

Quite expensive restaurant for the area and in our opinion, overpriced for the quality of food. We had a large group with some dishes really good (e.g meat cannelloni), and others not so (veggie cannelloni and burgers). Be prepared to wait a long time for food (1hr), even at non busy times. Wifi was really fast though so you can stock up on some Netflix!

Overpriced for an average meal from the menu. Large and spacious and can therefore accommodate large groups. Relatively busy with many people. Probably worth trying the salad bar/buffet at a more traditional lunch hour (I was too late).

Dinner stopped on our road trip in town. My llama steak was tasty and tender! The food was so big we couldn't finish it. There was a big function going on that night so everything was quite slow.
