First time here and it was nice. I only went to the docks to fish with family but it looks like a nice area for picnics, weddings, or small get togethers. As for the fishing this area off the docks about 50 yards is around 30 feet deep and is full of catfish. I caught 9 channel catfish and a bullhead while there for about 2 hours fishing on and off. Lot of parking and trails from what I saw. Will return to explore more

This place is very tranquil and calm. It is secluded and surround by nature with the Historic Hudson River flowing by. There are picnic benches by the river and up the hill. We went here to fish. Be careful of the water chestnuts! No swimming allowed. Come and relax.

What an amazing place just outside the city of Poughkeepsie that you can get right to the Hudson River. Many picnic tables, 2 decks on the water, a covered porch that is wheelchair accessible, bathrooms. Breathtaking views!!

This place is beautiful. They have lots of picnic tables, and a nice entrance into the river for kayaking. There’s a pretty little beach area (not for swimming) and the indoor space is nice for parties.

Wow have they done such a great job with the improvements here. The new docks are awesome and the new entrance and freshly paved road make it alot easier to get In and out of. Great place to stop and have a picnic or to watch the sunset.

Beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the Hudson River. The main building can be rented for partys/get together. New parking and walk down unless you have Handicapped parking. A light is being put in on Rt 9 so it will be easier to get in and out.

It's a very beautiful view point. I love going here because for one, there is abundant parking available and if you have alot of things with you for grilling out or something you can drive down to the waterfront to drop off your belongings (or if handicapped you can park) Another reason is that the area is peaceful & it is quiet when it is not busy. I see alot of older folk take a chair and just sit there watching the lake all day long in the shade. My friend's husband goes fishing & I've seen a person take their puppy to learn swimming in the water as well. There is a place to access the water by foot as well as a dock for like, kayakers to enter the water. I don't recommend fishing because it is very rocky, but there must be other sections that are better bc one day i seen many people with fishing supplies coming back to their vehicles.

I’ve been coming to this park for many years and it’s amazing to see the transformation. Mike Cooper and crew do an outstanding job maintaining and improving the park. It was clear in my conversation with Mike how dedicated he is to this beautiful spot. Thank you dutchess for investing in a little slice of heaven!!!!

What used to be a quiet place to go and read a book or meditate is anything but. Now, it has become noisy and overrun. Thanks, Dutchess County and the Town of Poughkeepsie, for ruining a good thing all in the name of greed. This used to be my favorite spot to escape to in a way overcrowded town. Now there is no where, on the water, to run to. The park ranger does nothing to police the area and move cars that are illegally parked. All of the lower lot should be handicapped parking. I went there and could not get a spot so I left.

Beautiful view of the Hudson River and mountains, overall nice scenery and docks with chairs and space for picnics etc. It's even occasionally quiet. On the other hand, parking has become more regulated and it would be nice if there was a more hospitable walking path from the new parking lot to the park (rather than under a one lane leaking and dark underpass shared with cars).

Very nice and quiet. Not much for children to do. A good place for an older person to visit and enjoy the river.

Very nice park, clean set up nice. Nice new entrance easy to understand and very safe. Plenty of room, shade and a beautiful full view. Great high patio docks over looking the River.

Perfect place for a first date . Bring your gravity chairs pack a picnic and just enjoy the view , the boats, and the water. When you visit please leave it as beautiful as it was when you arrived.

We love coming here with the kids. I’m not sure if the parking lot has improved but parking could use improvement. Sometimes it’s hard for my wife to get to and from the waterfront from the parking lot because of her back. We don’t hold a handicapable sticker soooo…it is what it is

I took my son there, he had wonderful time. Really enjoyed the evening there. You can relax by looking at the flowing river and the mountain view

😐 I love this park been running in this park with friends regularly for over 10 years but lately the past 3 years has been changing. More people with dogs are coming in and not really picking up after their dogs and letting their dogs run unleashed all over the park. This is not a dog park (try Beacon...

👍👍 Actually quite peaceful. I was there between 920am to 1015am. Some singles, couples, 2 sanitation members and children playing. All very friendly. Enjoyed the Hudson River , that the Governor is going to ruin the River by putting a electrical cable from Canada to NYC TO SUPPLY POWER TO THE CITY...
