Walked in and ordered two things. A pound of Brisket and a gallon of sweet tea. Took over 35 minutes to receive the two items for takeout. The absurd wait time might have been worth it had the food been adequate. The brisket was about the worst thing I've ever allowed to cross my lips. The overwhelming majority of the "meat" was pure fat. I've had brisket more times than I care to count and this was by far the FARTHEST thing from brisket. By any standards. It was so bad that we ended up throwing the entire "pound" of Brisket in the trash because it was inedible. My family and I have written off this location for good and will never return. Either find a different location or go down to Ray Ray's down the street at Nocterra. Far better food out of a food truck than this place.

We ordered brisket, chicken, Mac & cheese, & string beans for a 24 people party 48 hours in advance. We asked to pick up our order at 4:30. When we arrived, we were told they were out of brisket & we could substitute something else or wait for a driver to return from another store with brisket. I told the guy in charge that it was unacceptable to be put in this position since I gave them more than adequate time to have the order and know what was needed for it to be filled in time for our pickup. We had guests arriving at 5:15. I waited until 4:50 (we did not want a substitute item) and asked the guy in charge the status of the driver. He was rude & basically told me he’s on his way. He knew I was not happy. He went to the ovens and said he “found” a brisket in an oven and said they would slice it and give me the whole thing. So, we left with the brisket and found that they did not provide any paper products or cutlery that was supposed to be included with the order. We called a few guests who brought plates, napkins, and cutlery to our family get together. The chicken was very good; the brisket was not. This “found” piece of meat was tough, the sliced pieces had to be cut with a steak knife. This “found” brisket must not have been cooked all the way. Usually, brisket will fall apart & shred easily. Last, they did provide us with buns. We had ordered enough for 24 people, but 1 package of buns actually had a missing bun so only 23. I spoke to someone after we found out about missing the paper products and asked for a $50 credit because of totally messing up our order. Had I waited to call them after trying the brisket, I would have asked for a $75 credit. This experience was awful & stressful knowing you have 24 people coming for dinner in less than 45 minutes. Not going back there again!!!

Great place very good food the staff is excellent and bend over backwards to give good service. The food is plentiful and will fill you up and stick to your ribs. Will definitely be back. I had some hush puppies, and they were excellent some of the best hush puppies I’ve had. The french fries were excellent. The chicken has great flavor, as well as a brisket and pulled pork.

Fantastic chance to take advantage of Rib bone Tuesday deal. The value is excellent and love the Swine wine sauce. Delivered the moment I pulled up curbside. This is a great store always good food and service.

We ordered a party pack to feed 16 with extra meat and sauce. The food was hot, and the delivery was on time. But our dozen cornbread was missing and we only received 4 small single serve containers of sauce for 6 lb. of meat. The store said it would take 45 minutes to deliver the missing items. I asked if they would add a few extra pieces of cornbread for our inconvenience. They said they could only offer a refund or extra rewards. I had a hungry crowd so we took the refund and luckily I had some sauce at home. Disappointed that they couldn’t accommodate a simple request. I won’t order here again.

This was my first time at this franchise and I was very impressed. It didn't look like much on first approach, but after ordering and sitting at my table, I was wowed. The food is amazing. There wasn't much of a wait at all even though it was busy. Also loved their choices of sauces.

Long time big fan of City B. But tonight will be my last time visiting the Powell location. Staff were rude and restaurant was filthy and this was at 5:00 p.m. if you need your BBQ fix go to the Polaris location. Staff show they care and the place is always spotless. I normally go there during the lunch rush and everyone is so friendly and food is always excellent.

Pulled pork sandwich was great. Fries with cheese and bacon were great. My kids loved their food too. Can’t wait to come back!

We had our wedding catered by City BBQ over a decade ago and their food is still just as good now as it was then! Pulled pork sandwiches and cornbread are especially delicious. Service was excellent and staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, delivering lunch to my table as I was outside on the front patio with my children. Thank you for the great experience!

Had the worst pulled pork ever. Both my wife’s and my dish had large globs of fat throughout the serving. Portions are now smaller but I wouldn’t want more of this lousy quality. Very disappointing.

Disgusting. Today we ordered the crispy fried ribs and they were horrible. They were dry and tasted old. Very disappointed. Our bill was $56. A total waste. Garbage.

Nobody is disputing the food isn't good. It is. But we had a carry out order and they didn't include our toddler's meal (resulting in a meltdown) . Instead they threw in a random assortment of side dishes we didn't order. I should have checked the bag before I left but I had one functional arm and a toddler on the other, which made it hard to do.

Idk a lot about BBQ but I know when I feel satisfied and I was definitely satisfied!! I’d say it’s a lot better IMO than mission Or Carolina BBQ. Service was quick and it was only 34$ which for a BBQ place isn’t all that bad!(6

Got a chopped brisket sandwich that was 5 chunks of fat, couldn't eat it. Green beans were dry and had little taste. Corn pudding tasted awful, threw it out. Disappointing. City BBQ usually is better than this.

Absolutely horrible. Ordered to take home meal, judges sampler, made for 2-3 peoppe and was told they ran out of chicken. Ok, understand it was at 7pm, so we asked if we could double up the meat of something else since they were out of chicken. 1. The girl at register was extremely rude and didn't even know her own menu. 2. Said they would double up meat since they could not give us the completed meal from the menu. Picture: that was what we got. Looks like we got about half of what we paid for. Please, spend your hard earned money somewhere else. Not here where they obviously have 0 customer service or can't even give you what you paid for.

The food has always been good. We don't live in Ohio so, we only go to City BBQ when we are visiing family. It's a sure bet that the family will choose City BBQ. The only thing I miss when there is a chopped beef sandwich. They apparently don't do chopped beef sandwiches in Ohio. I do love that they offer a choice of sauces, though!

I met the new (to me) manager Emily Smith. She took my order and arranged our sides with our sandwiches to save us a couple of dollars, which was very thoughtful. She was very friendly and personable when I asked her when the sweet potato casserole will come back. Emily made sure we had some extra sauce and called me by name twice, which I doesn't often happen at a business. We've been going to the Powell City BBQ since it opened about 20 years ago and have met many great managers. Emily is definitely a memorable one. The Powell City is in good hands with her!!! I hope to see her again when we visit next.

Very little communication when you go to pick up items. We got the soggiest food we've had in a while as items came out first that likely should not have. The worst, soggiest fried pickles I have ever seen came with our order, as shown.

This has to be my favorite City BBQ location. The staff are largely friendly, if not exceptionally friendly. The food has been fresh and well made every time I've come. The staff is pretty speedy, tho it can get pretty busy here. There's outside seating, covered and open, which is nice to enjoy in good weather. The parking lot is a good size and easy to get into and out of. Overall, I think this is a great place to enjoy lunch or dinner.

City BBQ went above and beyond and donated food so that the Olentangy HS band could have dinner last night at band camp. Everything was hot and fresh- and delicious. Thank you so much for your generosity- City BBQ is the best!
