Allowing the "russian-speaking people party" (with the respective song list) to take place here means to tolerate the occupants. What kind of culture is it about?

Amazing building that contains many facilities. It holds a cultural center with movie/theater/opera screenings, a library, a garden, a café and amomg others a stunning exhibition that will allow you to discover the building and the recent history of Poznan. I highly recommend the audio guide that is interactive and very easy to follow.

This palce is one of the top localizations in Poznań. There are organized a various events in a regular manner. Mainly inside the castle you could find out a cinema, go for a free tour across it or participate in some city event. At the front of the building you could easily chill out and spent some time with delicious soft drink.

Would recommend taking the well-priced audio guide tour of one of Europe's youngest castles (built in 1910). Despite being a relatively young castle compared to others in Europe, the history is still extremely interesting. To enter simply make your way around the construction works at the front of the castle and go up the main stairs and to the self-service kiosk in the main hall inside the door. The staff speak English and are very helpful if any help is required.

Nice castle. There isn’t too much to see in the rooms, since there isn’t too much furniture. It’s mostly empty rooms with lots of beautiful marble and wood decorations.

Not as old as other castles, but what an amazing history it has. I recommend reading the story of the castle and taking the audio tour. It is definitely a unique experience to visit a historically significant site.

Lots of venues and exhibitions to go to. Beautifully remodeled inside. I always enjoy going to this place. There is also a nice restaurant inside. You have to visit this place to see its real appeal. For movie enthusiasts, there is a little movie cinema. Overall, very interesting place to see.

At the entrance I saw no one in the ticket window. Anyway I didn't enter to see everything inside but only the outside. Besides, there are a lot of construction work in the area. But the whole area is beautiful with the gardens.

Do not miss FRIDA exhibition! You will see frida & Diego s beautiful unique art work as well as their friends and impact they have made on other artists. There are rare photography you wont see anywhere else from their personal trips. Frida s art work and drawings are worth to see to get in to her head and understand her. There is also copy of lost painting that is showed there if you know where it is it is appreciated to let them know anonymously.

While there aren't any furnishings or artifacts you can still rent a headset to listen to the history of each room of the castle. There is also a place to eat and book store at the end. And don't forget to check out the gifts when you first walk in or out. Everything is reasonably priced.

a beautiful piece of history. the majestic structure really leaves you speechless. One thing that displeased me is that the rooms are not furnished and the objects that were inside have been distributed in various museums. If you do not have a guide, it is very easy to get lost due to its size and infinity of rooms. As a student, I paid only 5 złoty for the ticket, a minimum price for a breathtaking structure. absolutely recommended

Magnificent, and haunting, building. First built for Wilhelm II, and then remodeled extensively for Hilter, it gives an insight into the type of spaces the Fuhrer preferred to work and live in. The castle was practically empty when we visited, which only added to its imposing nature. Well worth a visit, whether for the history, the architecture, or both.

First of all, I would like to say that I don't want to be rude. The people working there try to maintain this place as much as possible, and I admire that. In addition the price is very cheap, so that balances out the experience. Now that I said that, here is my review. The outside castle is magnificent. With everything that this castle went through, it is surprising that it's still up. Very good job on restoring it so fast 👏. However, there is nothing inside. The castle is EMPTY. Appart from 1 screen playing the history of the movie, there is really nothing to see. I would've loved to have recreated decor from the imperialistic era and the 3rd reich era. The castle went through these changes, and I would love to see that. I know that the furniture was destroyed, but replicas could've been put in there. Today, the castle is the home of the cultural centre of Poznan, which is a great idea! But I really would've loved some extra history about it.

Makes for an interesting trip, built in the early 20th century for Wilhelm II and renovated during the occupation in world war 2. Both exhibits have an audio guide, staff are very friendly. The permanent exhibit takes you through the old wing of the castle, showing it’s initial purpose and layout and it’s current day use. The temporary exhibit on French lithography from the early 20th century.

A wonderful place, imposing and mysterious, full of interesting nooks with various cultural activities. There's theatre, cinema, exhibitions, bookstore, café, and many more. Highly recommended!

That's one of the youngest castles in the world, and the youngest in Europe if my memory doesn't fail. Definitely worth to visit!

The old imperial palace of Kaiser Wilhelm in Posen Poznan

  • 4/5 Henrik C. 8 months ago on Google
Although built for Wilhelm II and now a cultural center in Poznan the WW2 era is dominant. It was eerie to walk a castle that Albert Speer spent much time modifying for his leader. Much was made to look like Reich Chancellery. It was a feeling I couldn't shake. In the garden you should visit the monument of the 22.000 Polish officers that Stalin killed, to honour and grasp how the polish people suffered.

The architecture is beautiful, I like how theres no furniture to leave everything to interpretation. I highly recommend the tour with the electronic guide because you can look around at your own pace. The exhibition I went to was also great, and I like how it's a culture centre as well as a media library and a historical place. Amazing place with an amazing history.

Usually there are some interesting art exhibitions to choose from, but the Castle is also worth a visit on it's own due to its history. It was built for the last German emperor, Wilhelm II during occupation period and later captured by Nazis.

The huge, attractive Imperial Castle was built in 1905-1910 as the residence of the German Emperor Wilhelm II. Now used as a cultural centre.

Beautiful place. The only problem is understanding the exhibitions. Nothing is in English and very few people speak it. Nevertheless I recommend it. The building is nice and if you are there for a lengthy stay you might be able to catch a culture film. They also have a museum downstairs. (Access from outside). That gives you a glimpse of wartime Poland.

It should be the coolest place in Poznań, but in my opinion the events are not well disclosure. I never know what is going on there. And, as a mother with stroller, the stairs outside and inside (!!!) dont make it easy to enter at the place (you will depend on someone to help you).

Kaiser Castle is where Hitler had his HQ and stayed only a short time. Disappointed inside as most of the rooms are let out to small businesses and consulates. Which is the old part of the castle. The other half of the castle houses the morden interiors with animation cinema, theather, coffee shop and book store. Gardens are small but nicely maintained with plenty of seating. Castle looks great from the outside.

Cool building from the outside. Nothing to see inside. Or if there is, it was so poorly marked that we couldn't find it.
