If there is a possibility, I would give less than a star. I made a reservation in the evening on Booking.com and in the morning of the next day I received an email from the hostel increasing the price by 30%, I called booking and they tried to find a solution but the property owner did not speak English and booking asked me just to go and everything will be fine. I went in the evening with my friend to the hostel but the owner did not accept to host us because we did not want to pay extra than the price we booked with. So We were without a place in a late time 22:00/23:00, after calling booking many times they found a solution for us to stay in another hostel ( which is la guitarra hostel and btw I really recommend both locations In Gdansk and Poznan) and they agree to pay us the difference of money. Bref, it is never about money but about the customer service, the host treated us very bad and he told us that if we can book a bed trough internet, the bed can also jump out of the phone lol. I highly don’t recommend at all.

Avoid! The place is a party house. There were drunk people in the common area next to my room making noise up to 6am.I complained to the receptionist but she didn't seem at all bothered. The showers are smelly. The only good point is a location.

It's right next to the old market square, which is beautiful. The price is very good. The room I had was clean, the bathrooms and showers were too. The is a fridge and a dining room. The service was overall nice. Negatives are, that it is right next to the old market square, so it gets really busy in the morning and late into the night (bring earplugs for sleeping if possible). The beds are rather stiff, just a heads up. I would recommend. If I ever return to Poznan, I'll stay here again. 4/5

Reserved two nights, stayed for one and got refunded; very nice of reception to do that for me! Staff is in general very friendly. 8-bed dorm room was a great value for money, but was poorly ventilated (stinky) and hot! The bed itself was clean and comfortable. Lots of Polish guests.

Great location. Beds were fairly comfy. The hostel itself is pretty clean and the staff were super friendly. Free coffee and tea brought it home. The street the hostel is located on is incredibly loud until 2am and then the noise starts again about 730am. If you are a lite sleeper like me you will have trouble catching some quality Z's. Other than that it's a fantastic place for the 20ZL a night price tag.

Very nice and cheap hostel. The bathroom have separate stalls and separate showers. There is a kitchen you can use to make and enjoy your own food.

I vidited few months ago. The room was very comfortable and clean - the corridor was not very quiet though, the staff was very kind and friendly and they offer help if you need anything, the price was very fair. I would recommend it.

I can recommend the Retro Hostel to anyone who is looking for a cheap and centrally located accomodation. The hostel stretches over two floors and has a big, light, modern kitchen with lots of space (and tables and sofas), where you can prepare and eat your meals if you want to. I stayed in a clean and reasonably furnished double-bedroom with a window going out to the statue of the poet Janicki, which is right in front of the hostel. I loved the view, but the problem was that it also was quite loud at night and in the early mornings. If you can sleep with a closed window, this shouldn't be a problem for you though. For me it was a little bit unfortunately. The shared bathrooms were pretty good, even though one shower and one toilet were bein repaired during my stay. The staff was really friendly and helpful and I could also lock in my luggage on the day I left. Overall I'd definitely recommend the Retro Hostel, because the location can't be beaten and it was one of the better hostels I stayed in.

Rooms are Hostel grade. Nothing less nothing more. Service is determined to keep you quiet and clean. While it may be a plus for some, it might be bothersome for others. Location is to die for. Smack dab in the middle of everything.

Room, bathroom, kitchen all nice and clean. Lounge spacious and nice. The only downside is the acoustics. I could hear every single noise from the kitchen or corridor or reception desk throughout the night
