The hostel is fine, actually I liked, I think it's just not well planned some basic stuff, because they don't use it, only guests and usually people don't give constructive feedbacks. 1 - WiFi never works after 4 nights, get ready for no internet. For some reason depending of your device it works. My Samsung doesn't connect. My OnePlus does 😕 2 - The beds have the less smart design ever, nothing is efficient and basic curtains would be amazing. Upper bed is very hard to climb and the stairs are in the worse way possible. Never seen a bunkbed like that before... 3 - They have plenty of space in the room for a small table, at least in my 8 bedroom, but they have nothing, one chair only, just stupid. Also the could have some decent wall hooks, they have, but not enough and they chose the most stupid places like next to the door and the stairs for the bed, so it's useless sometimes because you need the space to climb for your bed. Just basic logical stuff that you notice was bad planned and nobody is thinking "how it would be if I needed to sleep here", they just let the rooms ready to cash out. But is not bad, it's fine, they are clean and proper light, space enough, it's ok but it's a pity because could be way better so easely, so my intention is to change this for a better feedback in the future. Well, overall the hostel is ok, good, not great, but I had to give just 2 ⭐ because the Wi-Fi issue, is just ridiculous, almost 2023 and no internet? Come on! Also the beds are not good, because bad design and lock or logic, but at least to sleep is comfortable, mattress is good. Kitchen is ok, not big for the size of the hostel but enough, common are is just fine, not super social, location is great, fixing these stuff would easily be 4+ stars. Ah, I didn't pay for breakfast but I've seen people eating and was extremely cheap basic cereal with more sugar stuff. I don't eat that, I prefer to buy something for the same price and treat myself better, but it's up to you ;)

Someone has stolen my boyfriend wallet during the night since bedrooms have no self-locking doors. Deposit payed but no one told me that I had to get my money back after checkout.. we all have such a bad memory, so weird! Extra cost to leave the bag/ luggage after checkout or before checking (prices unclear: 3€ for small bags, 6€ for medium/ bigger ones. BUT for same sizes they were changing prices to pay..!) Clean rooms but no amenities like hairdryers or soap. Small bathroom. Uncomfortable bed (thin mattress and unstructured pillow.. no shape and thin, no filling). Good position

Very much satisfied with the services we got. The receptionist(we don't know her name) was so kind and helpful. For example, we are asking some cheaper place to park our car and asking some crowded clubs, other attractions around the city. She even mentioned with street numbers. She is too much informative I guess. Rooms: We stayed in a 4 bed dormitory. The room was so clean and toilets were okay. But they gave only one towel for 4 of us. I guess we need to pay extra for the towels😅. Others: We even cooked something in the kitchen. It has most of the needful utensils. And the Dining area is also good.

Friendly staff, 24hr reception, free bag hold for unlimited Time. Comfy beds but top bunk makes a lot of noise when someone moves. Bathrooms very clean and hot running water in showers. Super central and you do feel like you and your luggage is safe.

My expensive food was stolen and an unknown guy slept in the lounge for the whole day. They can’t even rewind CCTV, so there’s no point to security cameras either… I don’t get the point of the security gate, especially in such a busy area. The hostel is near a lot of people, and in order to get in, all you have to do is press a button to rind reception (you don’t even need to show your card). Of course reception can’t possibly remember every face, so sometimes, they could even let in non-guests. During my stay, there was a homeless looking guy sleeping on the lounge couch for the whole morning and afternoon, and on that day, my food was missing. I thought that maybe it was a mistake but I asked the staff to look through the camera footage, and he couldn’t look through past videos.. The next day, I found the remnants of my food in the trash bin near the lounge where the unknown man slept. This is a major security concern for the guests of the hostel. My locker near my bed was broken, the bathrooms in my ensuite were incredibly dirty for 2 nights in a row (nobody cleaned it). But the staff could barely do anything about it. The elevator was broken too. One staff member offered his leftover food for me to eat which was very sweet but doesn’t address theft and security concerns. Hopefully there’s followup afterwards. Since I was told that guests are liable for the stuff they put in the fridge, don’t trust the main area. Keep your belongings hidden and locked up. Hopefully your locker was not broken like mine.

Good location and nice staff, I liked to get separate toilet and shower (that has a bath mat) the heater was working well. Beds have curtains. however the dorms don't have any storage to put belongings or even to store suitcase, so it becomes quickly a mess with everyone putting their stuff on the floor. It would be great that each bed gets a shelf that goes along one side of the bed (check hostel named A&O Berlin hauptbahhof) and a big rack to put suitcases. Beds are incredibly small which does not facilitate the storage of personal belongings and mattress are very hard. The noise of the curtains on the metallic bar is seriously annoying because very loud, at night it's hell. The water from the shower was lukewarm, given the cold weather it is very indecent to impose that. The fact that many reviews mention that people outside the hostel can enter inside, is worrying, in Amsterdam the hostel I booked had a gate inside the hall that would open only with guest card. This was super effective.

This was not a good experience. There was no hot water and heating, when there are freezing temperatures :) No compensation, no anything which is in my opinion no service Also the rooms where weird, there are big lights but not lights at your bed, so you will easily wake up the others by just wanting to see something. All in all not the worst place but the fact it was freezing, especially in the common room and the staff didn’t say anything in advance, is just not ok, I could have brought warmer clothes for example

Honest Review Recently I have stayed at this place. I booked via hostelworld app. After booking I have called and confirmed if my bed is a lower bed. When I reached the hostel and they told it is not lower bed and unfortunately there is no lower bed available. The recieptionist informed me it is their system issue. Moreover getting into some upper beds in this hostel is bit difficult. For some bed it has a normal ladder which helps. For me I got the difficult one. I have to say next day there was another recieptionist I assume his name was Mehmmed something like that. When I explained my situation he tried to give me a new bed unfortunately which was not found but he was so kind to me and provided me free water and also free breakfast because of the inconvenience occured to me. His service was the best and I have to say his behaviour to me was super kind and friendly. I would really appreciate the way he handle customer. Also I have to say the rooms are pretty decent and clean even the toilet and bathroom. The location is very ideal This place is a very good accomodation for people who plan to stay 1 or 2 nights in Prague

I booked a double room en-suite for me and my gf. Standard was really nice, bed comfortable, towels provided, radiators work very well. Service was kind, everything was well explained. Great location near metro station. The only trigger were some renovations during the day.

We booked private room and we were very nice welcomed by the receptionist, she was always super sweet and very helpful with us. The location is good, 7 min walking to the old town square. HOWEVER, the quality of the bed and pillows were AWFUL, the worst I have ever tried travelling in Europe. We asked the receptionist for a change to a better room and paying for whatever was the difference but unfortunately, the ones we had are "the best". We couldn't sleep at all. Also, the room looked clean but we could see from the cleaning list that Its been cleaned 10 days before we arrived. I understand that no one stayed before us but It would have been nice that someone come and check before they gave us the key because the room smelled bad, it was obviously not ventilated in the days before and the pipes in general in Prague smell bad. We opened the door and a horrible bathroom smell came out, which greatly changed our first impression of the room. I wouldn't recommend it.

That stay was great and the rooms were very clean and nice BUT the man at the reception was mit friendly and we had to pay a 6€ fee to leave our bags there on the day we checkt out. That never has happend to me before and is unexceptable for me.

A Nightmare Stay - Unreliable Promises and Disheartening Service I recently had the misfortune of staying at Safestay Charles Bridge in Prague, and my experience can only be described as a nightmarish ordeal. The promise of a basic amenity, hot water, proved to be nothing more than a hollow assurance, persisting throughout the entire duration of our stay. They offered us a kettle (not always available) and a bucket to have “a shower”. The staff lied to us, claiming the issue would be fixed the day after our check-in. Instead, we were left with broken promises and endless cold showers in a city experiencing negative temperatures. As if this weren't enough, the compensation offered was a mere mockery. Breakfast, touted as a solution, was served with an attitude that suggested we were inconveniencing the staff by merely being there. The rudeness displayed during breakfast hours added insult to injury, leaving us feeling disrespected and frustrated. In the end, the attempts at compensation felt like a half-hearted gesture, failing to address the fundamental need for a proper shower and hot water. This experience has been nothing short of disheartening, and I would strongly caution anyone considering a stay at this hostel. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy false promises, cold showers, and staff who treat you like a burden rather than a paying guest.

If you are looking for a chill & quiet place for 1-2 nights, this is the one :) I shared a 8-bed room and it was quite nice & clean although there was just one WC for all of us. The personal staff is quite poor, low energy. You must pay extra for towels, breakfast (6€, it's complete and good) and luggage hold after check out. Ubication is TOP, 12' by foot to the main square!

It's good to have the bathroom in the room, instead of a common one. The room was clean and big enough. Most of my friends and I had some problems with the Wifi but they helped us to fix it. I used the kitchen to have my breakfast. It was rather small, but I had no problem.

Everything was very clean! The check in process is easy especially if you check in online before hand. The beds are comfortable and they make then for you. The bar menu is limited and was empty while we were there. The toilet, sink, and shower are all separated by doors so it’s efficient for a lot of people. The location was great - very close to old town but out of the way enough to avoid loud crowds at night.

Great great place! Stayed 4 nights, it's very clean and located in the middle of everything, just a few minutes walk from Charles bridge. The staff is really nice, as well as their breakfast! Definitely worth it. Nice atmosphere in the evening and their beer is cheap! Definitely recommend.

Best hostel with all utensils to cook and eat. The rooms and bathrooms were neat and tidy. Friendly staffs. Major downside for me was their pillow and check-in time at 3pm. I feel they should atleast start check-in from 12pm onwards.

Booked for two nights with advance payment . They gave us beds that didn't have any lockers to keep our stuff. We spoke to the receptionist and he said he can't do anything as all the rooms are full. On the website they don't mention that some beds don't have lockers. The room was also messy. The check in time also is 3 pm which is not useful. Apart from the good location it's not recommended.

It's near the metro, close to the Old Town center, Charles bridge and the National Museum. It has a lobby, where you can do calls, work or just chill. The hostel has its own bar, but I haven't visited it. The rooms are clean with own sanitary facilities (you share with your roommates.

Very helpful staff, clean and quiet rooms. AC it was great 👍🏼 best of this accommodation is location, walking distance to most of the sights

Really great location, not far from the metro, trams and a small shopping centre which has plenty of places to eat, a supermarket and the rotating head sculpture of Franz Kafkaa by David Cerny. Staff are really helpful. I found the place was kept fairly clean, and the optional breakfast had good variety. A minor issue I had was the lack of a light with the bed, (there were 2 main lights and a lamp in a 6 bed dorm). However, there was 2 rather than 1 electic sockets for each bed. So if you like a personal light with bunk you might want to consider bringing one e.g. a led/usb one to plug into a charger.

A cozy and clean place to stay in city center. Great prices and girls-only rooms. 24/7 reception desk. You can fill out the check-in form online. You need your own padlock or can buy one for 75 CZK. Breakfast offer is limited (tea, toasts & marmelade, corn flakes).

Very pleasant accommodation. Helpful and very friendly staff; nice, clean rooms; clean common areas. We had good stay. The location is central, walking distance to many sites. And yet, we slept well.

  • 2/5 Taylor 9 months ago on Google
Hostel is well-located and common spaces are nice. However, my room had a cockroach and ants in the bathroom. The in-suite bathroom door also didn’t lock, so you had to hope no one walked in while using the toilet or showering. Of the 5 hostels I’ve stayed in over the past two weeks, definitely the most uncomfortable bed. There was also a child in my room one night, which, upon reading Safestay’s policy on the website, isn’t permitted—they must stay with their parents in a private room. Pretty disappointing experience and wouldn’t stay again.

Good: - The room was really clean. - The location is right next to the Charles bridge. - The cleaning stuff was nice. Bad: - I didn't have any sort of lockers in my room. - The reception lady was not very polite with me and kept trying to force the conversation and tell me about her kids, what I found kind of weird...

The service was rude and mistake with our Room, we let our things and then when we came back in the night there were people on our beds. They have mistake and we have to wait Long time until they solve it. Also they want to charge us, in cash, to let ojr baggage for a few ours After the Check out. Not recommend this hostel

  • 1/5 Jay A. 7 months ago on Google
Some beds have no lockers and the staff won't tell you until you ask where your locker is. Staff are rude and everything is too much trouble for them. I have emailed twice asking about both of these things and they have not replied. As well as this the name is misleading as its quite far from Charles bridge and the hostel has absolutely no atmosphere. 4 weeks since I left my initial review you still haven't responded to my email despite having said 'Its not an excuse for not replying in a timely manner'.

Affordable place in the centre of the city. Slept in 8 bed dorm, the matresses weren't that good for me, kinda stiff, but it was ok in the end. The toilet fan kept going for minutes, which was kinda disturbing others at night, when someone needed to use the bathroom. Otherwise the building is clean and nice, staff is friendly and helpful. Can recommend.

The hostel was good, well located, small kitchen but with everything you need. The stuff was very nice. The location is very good. The only problem was that the space for storage under the beds, in our room, was not working very well for two of the beds, which made things a little bit complicated. Apart from that, good experience

My experience with private room for 1-2p: Hard bed and pillow (the pillow was very steep as well), had to press button every 10 seconds in shower to keep water flowing (this is in every bathroom), the water pressure was extreme (felt like car wash), no bodywash in the shower (had to use handwash on food plate), dirty shared (!) kitchen with half dirty plates, no sockets near bedside, but 5 sockets on one wall (?) (at least add an extension!), no inner locks on the door, had to clean room after myself and take all linen and towels to the reception, no reply for easy to understand mail and sms 5 days (!) before check-in, staff cannot speak czech very well (language by staff: 0/5, 3/5, 5/5), english was agreable, overall the comfort was very poor and I am not likely to visit again untill everything changes —- However, the rooms were clean, I heard no noise, the room was discreet, check-in was easy, and the receptionists were trying really hard to be at service, despite their poor language… non-stop reception is a nice thing, the location is excellent.

Very helpful stuff. Decent rooms, breakfast room and even a downstairs "cave" with sofas perfect to play table football and do your laundry. Clean.

The negative points. 1. It was too noisy. I couldn't sleep whole night. People were banging doors and talking loudly till 6:00 am in the morning and it was hitting on my head. 2. Toilet paper was kept over a bin. 3. I was given a upper bunk and it had no ladder to climb. I used a small space to climb and it was so painful and dangerous. 4. I requested staff to give me lower bunk if its available and there was one available but he told me he didn't have one. Good points. 1. The lounge, kitchen and facilities were good. 2. Location was good. Close to metro and all main attractions like Charles Bridge and Old Town.

  • 5/5 Chloe H. 1 year ago on Google
This hostel was in a great, safe location within walking distance of a train station, Charles Bridge, the Old Town center, and many stores, places to eat, and museums. I stayed in an 8 person mixed dorm which was nothing fancy, very basic. Lockers located under the beds and basically nothing else in the room. We had a private bathroom and shower but there was no soap in the soap holder and the bathroom lock broke. The beds were fine but kind of hard to get onto the top bunk because there was just one ladder for all 4 bunk beds so I had to step onto a chair to get up. The staff were friendly and quick to answer my questions. I rented a towel for 3 euros. Breakfast every morning for 5 euros but I never got it so I'm not sure how good it is. There is a small kitchen with dishes and cooking supplies and a fridge to store food you buy. There's also a small dining area and a couple rooms to lounge in on the ground level. Overall, the stay was good. It isn't the most social hostel ever, but it's great for the price.

  • 1/5 M K. 1 year ago on Google
nice location in the Old town. the style in the common area is cool. The staff is friendly. The prices on days with low demand are nice. The bunk beds are not stable: You feel the vibrations when the other person over or below you moves. The sleeping room could be more colorful. A small breakfast for 50-70kr would be nice. In the sleeping room are not lockers for everybody. change to 1 star because: they charged more money from my credit card. they agreed to refund, i sent all details, but they don't give the money back and they don't answer my e-mails. I need to get it back from my bank now. takes unnecessary time...

Great for the price and nice clean room, but was always quite quiet in the social areas and at one point a member of staff was quite rude, the breakfast area is quite cramped when full.

We arrived late at night and the receptionist, Rachel, was very kind and helpful and was able to find us a room with two beds to spend the night. Rachel was delightful and we really appreciated all of her help. The room and the common areas were clean and the location is perfect- only 10 minutes from Charles Bridge. Would definitely recommend.

It's is in city center, so it's easy to roam around the city and come back late at night when no buses or trams are running. The place is super cool, a clean cafeteria and kitchen. In basement, there is Fußball table and a room for parties. Absolutely a good place to stay.

We had an amazing stay! The rooms were super clean and tidy. The best part of staying at this hostel was the incredibly nice and sweet staff. The manager is the sweetest lady! Overall a fantastic stay in the middle of prague.

its a nice hostel for the money. there is staff 24/7 to help, only down point is the bed it makes al lot of noise i was scared to turn or move in the bed because I didn't want to wake up the hole room

  • 1/5 Ramón S. 1 year ago on Google
The hostel is very well located and in general the staff is nice. There's a woman in the night reception (15.07) who is completely nuts and she's yelling at everyone when something is wrong and she doesn't know the meaning of words such as professionality or assertivity. Now I can understand why it's a safe hostel.

  • 4/5 Duy Tùng H. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, clean room and bed, toilet and shower in the room which I really appreciated. Nothing to complaint about except that only the bunk beds have safety storage space for luggage and not the individual beds. I heard someone's stuff got stolen in the other room and I can imagine why.

We stayed here for 4 days. The good and bad about our stay! The good -The staff were friendly -beds were good -our rooms and bathrooms were clean -great location -a lot of room to hangout - has a elevator so you no need to walk up several flights of stairs - has a kitchen for use that includes fridge, microwave and range top. The bad -our bathroom door didn’t lock. We addressed it with staff right away it was never fixed. So we used the bathroom in the lobby for the extant of our stay. - not the fault of the hostel but the kitchen dishes were always dirty and people didn’t know how to clean them after they had used them. - our key cards kept on not working. During our stay this happen 5 times. It was very annoying because then we would have to go back down to get this fixed and sometimes it was a long wait.

Room, bed and whole hostel was clean. I liked it. Internet didn’t work for the first 1 hour. But eventually it was working. Didn’t find any handwash in my toilet. I hope they will check regularly if it’s empty. Check in time should be considered a bit earlier. Check in at 15.00 is way too late.

No hot water or heat in the room for 2 days. Front desk was very unhelpful as they provided us with no solutions, refused to get in contact with the manager, and basically told us to suck it up. The only thing they told us to do was email the manager (don’t be fooled by the long apologetic responses on these reviews, we emailed 3 days ago and have yet to receive a response from them)

If you are looking for being centrally located and inexpensive, this is a good place. The facilities are well maintained. At night the temps did drop, one night I had to get an extra blanket from an empty bunker. There is heat but I felt cold. The water pressure is very good. If you didn't bring a towel, you can rent one. Continental breakfast is served at a cost, but if you want something hearty eat elsewhere. Besides the small eating area, there is only other common area. It is not an inviting area but you can hang out against the sitting area against the walls.
