The hostel receptionist was not in the hostel at check in time, claiming it was five hours later (we booked through Hostelworld so we could check it wasn't). So we had to keep our stuff in unlocked lockers for two hours until she got there, only to realize that the room we booked was not available and we were given another. After some discussion the receptionist agreed to give us a refund on the Hostelworld prepayment. We went to another hostel naturally.

This was one of the cheaper hostels, we mainly chose it for the ideal location and price during the busy season. The hostel is outdated. The beds are just ok, the rooms had broken items (lockers, shelves,...) the bathrooms were not kept clean enough, and there are definitely not enough showers (one shower per floor, same room as the toilet). The toilet on our floor had no seat, the one on the lower floor had no lock... The staff was ok. At night the whole building could get pretty loud, the floor woods are creaky... I wouldn't go here again but since we just stayed for 4 days and it was right in the city centre, it was an alright stay overall.

Don't even think about booking here!! Insanely noisy, dirty and expensive for a hostel in Prague. The walls are insanely thin, the shower is dirty, you have to book a towel, the noise on the street does not subside until one in the morning. Avoid at all costs! All my women neighbors moved to another hostel after a day or two because they said that it was impossible to live in it. Moreover, more than 10 Drunken British men settled in our women's wing in one day and we were all very scared for our lives. The hostel is just trying to make money and not respect the quality. You can find many more good hostels in Prague for less. Do not book through bookingcom! The prices are absolutely insane! Look for other hostels on their local websites and then you will be satisfied. The only good thing here is the location.

One of the worst experiences of my life. I don't understand why and how I put money on this. Just terrible service. I arrive at the reception already and the young guy at the reception speaks to me very badly, with a rudeness that you can't even imagine, fortunately there was another guy who was a bit welcoming. I am given the room on the top floor shared with thousands of other people, we go up and it is without an elevator, I am the first to arrive according to the gentleman, but surprise, the room is already dirty, the bathroom, horrible, pubic hair, hair on the floor, on the toilet bowl, in the showers, sink... The bathroom in an unforgiving state. I was truly speechless. One toilet cubicle and two showers only in a room with at least 15 beds. Is this normal? The sheets we are given are small, the image speaks for itself. I didn't sleep all night, a group arrived and kept talking loudly despite my remarks to let me sleep, but nothing. I add to this that in the evening, I had no electricity to charge my devices. I give it a 0 but if it was less, I would have given it less than that. The photos they show on the internet are not at all true, basically, the tables are dirty, the carpets even worse, the dirty water nothing to say. I think the bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a long time

A great location but not a very nice hostel. The rooms are but but very loud and the bathrooms aren't great. You also can't lock your door properly and we are sure someone went into our room and took some stuff (we had locked all valuables away) The location is great but the poor accomodation almost ruined our trip. I would suggest looking elsewhere.

It's in a nice central location. But the reception service is very bad. I didn't understand anything the woman at the reception spoke in English and she was very disrespectful. Room service is very bad. The rooms are dirty, the toilet seat has no lid, the back of the lockers is open, the wardrobe is insensitive to theft. They gave our friend's bed to someone else. Then they apologized. There are not even numbers on the beds in the rooms. They show the bed according to their wishes. The only good thing is that it is centrally located and you don't have to pick up your belongings immediately when you leave. I will never stay again. I don't recommend it to anyone. I recommend you pay a little more and stay in a better place.

Picking this hostel really depends on what you are planning to do in Prague. If you want to be at the hostel a lot, for long periods of time, with good service, maybe this isn't the place you're looking for. If you want to visit the city all day and dont have a lot of time to do so and really just need a place to sleep, this hostel is perfect. The rooms are clean but can use a bit of work (broken lock in the bathroom, pretty small lockers, very few outlets for a big group of people) but overall really great. Me and my friend stayed at the room in the top floor and we really liked it. Some of the employees are very friendly, others not very much so. Location is perfect as it is in the middle of the city center and everything is closeby. Would recommend staying here.

My friend and I were super positivly surprised by that hostel. It was right in the centre, you couldn't have a better location. It was clean and rooms were very big so it didn't get too warm in there. At night it was a bit noisy. Hostel got a nice kitchen and big bathrooms. The staff was friendly.

Location: 10/10 Dorm beds: 2/10. Very noisy and the metal-wired beds creak throughout the night even when you move a little. The noise is loud and disturbs your sleep and others too. I woke up feeling like i hadn't slept at all. I wish they change the beds because otherwise the hostel is great. Cleanliness: 10/10 The bathrooms are really clean and well kept.

Great location with beautiful kitchen and bathrooms. But the most important thing here is the sleeping and the beds are very noisy.

  • 2/5 Keene L. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are nice old rooms, but the furniture is quite broken. Everything in the kitchen but the microwave was broken as well. The location is central and one can get around quickly, but in order to get to the hostel you'll have to walk the bussiest street in prague. In this area there are no locals every building nearby is either an Air BnB or a touristtrap.

Nice hostel for some nights in Prague. It's very well positioned, in the center, near the astronomical clock. I slept in a dorm of 5 beds. Beds squeak, and the floorboards creak, so it's better to have a deep sleep. But the beds are comfortable. There was just one bathroom and toilets for my dorm and another one. The staff is friendly. The wifi is ok, but sometimes it crashes. In summary, it's a nice hostel for this price if you want to visit Prague for a few days.

Hostel Homer was a perfect score for me twice already. I booked a bed via AirBnB twice already and had a four-bed room tp myself on both occasions. I belive the whole floor was vacant, albeit it was off season. The place is squeaky clean with a whole kitchen and comfortable shower. It's in the heart of Prague, so you'll be walking out into the heart of the city's nightlife and urban buzz. They also have a great pizzeria with a spatious garden as part of the whole compound. Warm recommendations for Homer.

This place was amazing. I stayed for 3 nights and the staff are super nice, very comfortable and the location is the best since it's in the center of old town Prague. I would definitely love to come back here. Thank you hostel Homer for the welcoming and for making me feel like home.

Best hostel in Prague. Very good emplacement. You have everything at 5 min by walk. The big room is very nice. Beds are very comfortable. Just disappointed that there is only one bathroom for 10 people.

Ok hostel, great location, staff at times can be slightly unwelcoming. Rooms and facilities extremely old and worn out. Can’t stay in the hostel after checkout, really annoying when checkout is 10:30am and the flight/train is at 10pm.

It is absurd that I am forced to provide a photo of my ID which contains my sensitive information. Also, there is no information regarding the safety of how that information is stored which should be, at the very least, encrypted. If your servers are compromised the photo of my ID will be leaked and it is outrageous that I have to worry about this just so I can check in. Unless this changes, I will not be recommending this accommodation to my friends.

I stayed in this hotel twice and had good experiences. The hotel is located in amazing old building, so you don't have to compare it with modern buildings and it is acceptable to have some weakness. The location for tourists are perfect. Right in the heart of old town. The only problem was that they didn't care enough the quality of service: the toilets were dirty. The heater in whole the floor did not work and they did not provide any alternative, until we took the heater of reception.

Overall experience was good. Rooms clean and friendly staff. Value for money If you are in group, try getting up early to prepare yourself as washrooms are shared and one per floor. Overall good deal for money!!

The best hostel I have been to in the world. Really friendly and helpful staff, great view from the windows, at the heart of Prague.

Good thing about it was location and very helpful receptiost young indian girl (muskaan). Bring ur ear plugs with u guys as its going to be noisy (expected as its hostel) and messy from both ends, because of location and other guests who get drunk on weekends and get loud....even heard one couple having fun in kitchen area around 3 am.

Great location. Clean and great kitchen. Great chill out living room. The 16 bed room will do with some ventilation though. Nevertheless a great place. Helpful stuff and decent prices. I'll be back.

Staff was rude and confused, lacking bathrooms (1 for 26 people). Cleaning was bad in our room. Good placement. Food was stolen from the fridge.

would not recommend this hostel. i stayed in mixed 6 room and it had a beautiful ceiling and relatively nice bathroom and the location is very central but so many tourists around its pretty noisy. getting back into the hostel at night was complicated having had to open three type of gates and doors to get back to my dorm. i gave the front desk my laundry because they offer a service for 10 euros and they lost multiple items of clothing and were unable to find them and get them back for me. i was very disappointed and i’m not a picky person when it comes to hostels but they showed me very little respect as a backpacker.

Perfect, highly convenient location. Great prices. Unfortunately they lost a couple of my socks in the process of their laundry service, which can be a huge inconvenience for someone planning to travel light.

Which hostel closes the reception at 8 pm? I could not arrive until that time and tried to call the hostel several times, but no answer. I did the online check in, but when I arrived at 9 pm, 5 other people were waiting outside having the same problem. There was no way to get the room. Another guy came out and told us that he had booked his room one week ago and he arrived before 8 pm. But the hostel had given the bed to someone else. So we all had to leave. Due to a Rammstein concert that evening there were no free rooms available, only in 5 star hotels. I had to spend the night in my very small car. The money is gone if course.

The location is good and the rooms were ok. The staff were the unfriendliest I have experienced in a hostel though. There was a small problem with the booking and I had to argue for 40 minutes with the staff to clear it up. If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere, I would recommend going somewhere else.

Nice place, nice stuff, clean rooms. But I took one star because I ordered one room and they put me in another which was also nice, but when you expect something and they give something different you would be upset as me

    - Location is the best you could ask for. - - The bathroom and toilet are clean but a little too dark. - Check in and out are easy. - In the evening you get all the noise from the restaurant downstairs (doesn't matter if you're a heavy sleeper 😅) - You get what you paid.

I rented a private room in this hostel, facing the astronomical tower. The room was cleans, although the walls look old and a bit dirty and could definitely use some cleaning. There was a shared toilet/shower and kitchen on the floor (I think each floor). I had the windows closed at night as there’s a lot of noise from the street but the temperature was good and I didn’t mind doing that. The location is very central and ideal and good value for the money. The hostel did not really have much of an area for hangout and getting to meet people but still you end up running into people. My least favorite thing was the paper wristbands (as in the old clubs) which they make you wear for security purposes. I understand it’s for the hostels safety but there’s gotta be better ways to manage this.
