Restaurant

😐 It’s cheap. The food is just ok. I’d rather go to another restaurant even I have to pay more. The foods in Prague are not expensive then why we don’t go for the good food. People often mention Czech, restaurant, good,

If you're seeking affordable and quick-service dining for Czech cuisine, this is the place for you. The portion sizes and flavors are quite decent. One notable aspect is that their sauces appear to have a stronger garlic flavor. Do note that this is a self-service eatery.

Not one of the luxurious, fancy restaurants, but great to feel the Czech atmosphere, try their cuisine and have an affordable, quick dinner. The food ordering process is very well organized and although there is a lot of customers, everything goes quickly and smoothly. The staff knows (or at least understands) quite a few languages.

I read mixed reviews about this place, here my experience: When you enter you have to take from a cashier the paper in which they will write you what you order (absolutely don't lose it because there will be a fine). After a bit of queue (the place is quite famous so try to don't go during peak time) you can tell what you want to the staff that will write the code on the paper and will give you the food that you can enjoy in one of many seats available there. The food was really good, I tried the classic goulash and a dessert (there is another cashier for order that). The staff was really nice and available. When you finish, you pass from the same first cashier, give the paper and pay what you have to pay. Affordable prices and also the menu was with lots of choices.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. SCAMMERS. RUDE AND WORST SERVICE EVER HAVE. Do not recommend anyone patroning this restaurant. Double counted our orders and when we told the cashier exactly what we ordered, she just stood there ignoring us. Not even giving a slightest acknowledgement. Food was mediocre with stale bread in every dish. Affordable meal? Not if they overcharge you. This establishment should be closed.

The food was nice, although some veggies would have been good and it's impossible to get any. Anyway, it's a busy place, a 10min wait is a usual thing and the feel is as if you were at a school cafeteria. But overall the experience was quite pleasant and authentic

fairly cheap meals compared to normal Prague prices, its self service, you’ll get a meal card and based on what you take or eat, they’ll write to your card, overall great experience, food was ok

Great Czech traditional food, it is in center of Prague. I didn’t see cheaper restaurant. Model of serving is like in cantina, you go with plate and choose food you want. You can find meal from 5-8€.

🥦vegetarian review I’m in love with this place!!! You can feel like traveling back in time to the old times of communism. As a polish person this place reminds me of my parents’ stories about our countries when they were young☺️ there are not many vegetarian options, but the ones they have are great. The spinach with knedliky (dumplings) is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! Really this spinach is so well seasoned, it blows my mind. The meat options are also really generous and the prices very reasonable. Alternatively you can also eat sweet dumplings as a vegetarian and compose everything by yourself. Highly recommend for both - the atmosphere, taste and p/c

A must visit place, when you are near Old Town Square for legit authentic Czech food (NONE in Los Angeles). The Svickova na mestane (Sirloin in Cream Sauce) is my fave so far. Goes great with Pilsner Urquell.

Looking for traditional and Czech homemade cuisine vibes it's place for you. You can feel the 80's/90's atmosphere and i like it. Food it's quite tasty but still there is place to improve.

Nice, simple comfort food. The meat here are always cooked perfectly! The concept is interesting as well, where you take a ticket when you go in and choose the food from the food counter. Even thoigh they have the menu, you can mix and match the dishes if you want!

Why isn’t this gem ranked 5 stars? The food is hot, instantly ready, really affordable, authentic, and most importantly delicious!! It’s also relaxing and a nice quiet break from the loud crowds.

I have been visiting this eating place for 6 years and it's just a very unique and fast way to get Czech style food. There is something VERY special about the cold potato salad. And I always get the Sopska salad too. They are reliably tasty. The meat is average but quite edible. And the beer and sparkling water are cold. It's not as cheap as it used to be.. but what is.. it won't stop me returning.

All time favourite restaurant in Prague. Cheap, fast, and the hungarian goulash with dumplings is always perfect!

Very popular amongst tourists but serving good, typical, local dishes. Worth a try and no worries if you see the queue outside, usually it takes a few minutes to get there.

You can find traditional foods and cheaper than the others. taste is not so much delicious but depends what you expect. Employees are not kind except cashier. In addition be aware of the price. they charge beef and potato mash separetly. it seems one price in menu but they charge mash price extra

Food is so so (had much better Czech food in Prague). Service inside was fast and friendly but heavy set waiter who grunted when we arrived needs to re-take his manners and courtesy class !

They don’t take card. The person who sits at the entrance was quite unfriendly to me about it while sending me off. We might not speak the same language, but we should still at least try to treat each other with human decency.

I came based on Tiktok and I hope all Czech food doesn’t taste like this. I immediately started to feel nauseous after a few bites. Fried Gouda was cold and lady taking order was rude.

We ended up not going in for lunch. The lady at the front entrance was outright rude and unpleasant. I asked her if I could make a reservation and she said “ no, no English”. We decided not to go given their unwelcome attitude. She was also yelling at another young man , handing him something like a ticket .

This is a super simple nice restaurant, cheap with good typical czech food. It is normally crowded in the lunch hour, but if you go after, you can find a place to seat with no prob and enjoy your food.
