I visited this museum as part of the combined ticket for the national museum. This museum is actually a new building as part of the national museum and contained an exhibit of Celts and also the museum of genetics. I thought the Celtic exhibition was fantastic. There was so much information about Celts, their culture, their lives, their metal-working skills, with some truly stunning exhibits on show. There were a couple of engrossing videos of how researchers think the Celts did metal work and created jewellery. The Museum of Genetics was a much smaller museum and as its name suggests, about genes and molecular biology. There's several fascinating videos that describe the process of extracting and analysing genes. As a Scotsman, the Celts exhibition was especially interesting to me, but equally accessible to everyone. The amount of English in both the museums was outstanding and both are well worth visiting.

There is only one exhibition about the Celts that settled at the Bohemian territory. Nothing else. It was interesting. But definitely not enough. And don’t even bother to try to eat at the bistro outside!

The New Národní muzeum is a captivating destination that showcases the rich history and cultural heritage of the Czech Republic. Its modern design, engaging exhibits, and prime location make it a must-visit for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Czech culture, history, and scientific achievements.

Went to the children’s exhibition at the new national museum. It wasn’t very interactive (compared to other children’s museums around the world) but the kids (aged 4 and 2) had a great time and we stayed for the whole 90 minute slot. Surprisingly for Czech Republic I found the security guards to be really friendly and they spoke English. Would recommend as a thing to do on a rainy day in Prague.

I sat down to have some lunch before having a look around the exhibitions at the New Museum the lunch was wonderful and the staff were great however after sitting outside for a while a member of staff came up and went to yank my coffee away which I hadn't finished yet, telling me they were closed. I was a bit shocked at the sudden and rude abruptness of this. I finished my coffee quickly in order to let them close only to find that the new and old gallery were also closed due to "operational services". This was a big disappointment to me especially since the early closure was not communicated during my time there only via a couple of small signs. The experience has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Various exhibitions about different topics, reasonably well laid out. The Noah's ark exhibition (about the environment and animals, not about the biblical event), which has been here for years, has a lot of intro information, and almost all the information is also available in English. Cheaper than the"regular" National Museum, which has now reopened, and hardly any queues.

The New National Museum in Prague is a architectural masterpiece that houses an extensive and diverse collection spanning various periods of Czech history. The museum's modern design seamlessly blends with its historical surroundings, creating a captivating visual experience. The exhibits, ranging from archaeology to art, offer a comprehensive and insightful journey through the nation's cultural evolution. The museum's emphasis on interactivity and engaging storytelling adds a dynamic element to the visit, making it suitable for a wide range of visitors. With its rich and well-curated displays, the New National Museum stands as a must-visit destination for those eager to explore the cultural tapestry of the Czech Republic.

We went through the tunnel underground from the National Museum to the New National Museum, it's a great experience. I do recommend to visit the small door that has a timer at the entrance, it's a 360 experience video with the history of Czech Republic in few minutes.

Sadly a big disappointment. Even with low expectations it under delivers. At the time of writing there are three exhibitions, however there is little to see in any of them. The staff behind the counter was very helpful and nice (spoke decent English), but the staff throughout the building was less so. We expected to spend at least quite a bit of time here, but we finished it within an hour. The museum currently contains mostly text on walls with little interesting artifacts to complement them. If you need a place to escape the heat it might be worth it, otherwise skip it until the renovations are completed.

The museum is interesting, but the experience was ruined by a rude “security guard” on the fourth floor, “this is not the exit” and reaching his hands touching me. Very inappropriate and rude, put a damn sign to know where the exit is, specially given that the rest of the museum has same exit and entry points

(Translated by Google) The building is very nice after reconstruction. Unfortunately, what is inside, I am looking in vain for a suitable word other than the vulgar synonym of the word nothing. Big empty or closed doors and if we find something we stare, we don't understand. Exhibition musical labyrinth with comics and colorful music without points, Leo in porcelain by Gustav H., elephant and giraffe on wheels, whale on wires, great. Just White Mountain for NM. (Original) Budova po rekonstrukci moc hezká. Bohužel to co je uvnitř, marně hledám vhodné slovo jiné než vulgární synonymum slova nic. Velké prázdno, nebo zavřené dveře a pokud cosi nalezneme zíráme, nechápeme. Expozice hudební labyrint s komiksem a barevnou hudbou bez pointy, Lev v porcelánu Gustava H., slon a žirafa na kolečkách, velryba na drátech, paráda.Prostě Bílá hora pro NM.

The historic building is really beautiful! Unfortunately, very little to see otherwise. The new building is practically empty. There is no guide in the old building. So all in all - worth only for the beauty of the old building.

This is really not a musuem, but a beautiful empty building with confused tourists! The whole time I was looking for the actual permanent exhibition and then I was told that they will be installed sometime in the future! Would have been nice to know that in advance!

This building is reachable from the historical building but there is not much to see for its size, if you're not interested in children's museum. There was only the 20th century exhibition inside the building when I was there. That was a good exhibition and I liked the way Czechs deal and tell the story of their modern history.

It was nice but much smaller than the older national museum, focused on the 20th century. Very interesting exhibitions. The security guard upstairs was rude and grumpy, but thankfully, I didn't have to interact with him.

  • 2/5 Dinulescu A. 4 years ago on Google
Only 2 exhibitions were available. Tickets are expensive. Building is nothing too impressive. And something that really really irked me was the fact that on the information panels, Czech language was written in a bold font while English was written in a very light font. This is extremely annoying, especially if you have poor eye sight. I attached a picture. Will never come again.

As of February 2022, there was only the exhibition of the 20th century. But that was really well collected and demonstrated. There are rooms, even hidden ones, depicting the different eras of the century and the tunnel that connects the building to the National Museum has a show of what the Wenceslas Square looked like throughout time. Also, buy the tickets online, you'll potentially save a lot of time.

  • 1/5 Yuri G. 1 year ago on Google
The new part of the "museum" has absolutely nothing to look at. Definitely, it's not a museum, more looks like an exhibition in Kukuevo village. For example, take a look at mmm.. tv-set from sixties, or a boombox from eighties, or old and not nice-looking pair of shoes.. What? Seriously?? The main Czech museum? Also everything is awfully organized and not convenient. As an example, big entrance queues not because of big number of people but because of very slowly operating cashdesks. Only for some reason 4th floor representing at least something. So queues near elevators or long way upstairs. Stupidness everywhere. Not recommended for those who have been in true museums.

Absolutely brilliant place. Takes you from fossils right through to the present day. Very similar to the British Natural History. There is a tunnel under the pavement which joins onto the new building which has a 20th Century Peoples theme.

Don't lose your money in the children's muzeum. It is so boring, no interactive, and no creative. 10 min is enough to be there. If it would be for free, I would prefere go to a pivovar with a dětský koutek

calling it a museum is an overstatement. Now i realize why the there is line of people waiting for the museum next to it and no one wants to enter this one. I don't know if I miss something but this museum is really small. One exhibition in a theater, where I didn't understand anything (no English translation).
