Before the pandemic i would have given them a good review. the gym is spacious with nice, new equipment and really nice decor which creates a good atmosphere. but, their handling of the pandemic situation has been abysmal. Basically i have continued to pay for a gym every month that I can't even use. They only offered 1 free month of online workouts at the beginning of the pandemic. somehow my contract has been prolonged ( found out when i inquired about cancelling) without me requesting it, so my reward when the gym opens up is to continue to pay them more money each month. there has been no discounted membership fee which they have continued to collect when the gym remained completely closed. so basically, they continued to receive full fees from their clients without operating a gym. No refunds offered, no discounts offered. I finally requested to suspend my membership for 3 months which they agreed to. However, I was still charged and received invoices and when i requested a refund, i was told it would take 30 days. it's been 2 months and I still don't have a refund. Just awful service and treatment of loyal clients. Also the women's changing room is really small, only 2 showers, and there is never hot water in the sink for the toilet which I find really gross as it's impossible to have good hygiene this way (I also saw staff use the toilet and not wash their hands)

Gym is overcrowded 24/7 with certain type of people. Most of them don’t know what the towel is for, they’re not cleaning the machine and not cleaning the weights. People are blocking machines while making selfies, talking with other, occupying more than one machine in the same time and so on instead of working out. The lock rooms are incredibly small, toilets are dirty and smelly. Everything is falling apart. You can find way better gyms in Prague with better equipment. About the employees.. they’re never at the reception and you will always see different ones (probably the turnover). Some of them are nice, some of them are annoying and commanding. The fitness trainers are questionable since i saw how they’re “training” people and give zero f**s about the form (deadlift, squat or hip thrust technique). It’s sad how money and “cool” look is more important than quality place to workout. The DJ’s are unnecessary since everyone is wearing headphones. The place need renovations and probably new plan for future - maybe new management as well. If you’re normal person who want to workout find different gym. It’s not worth it. You can’t find a spot for doing squats (only 3 squat racks) nor find free bench. Unless you want to spend 4h in gym while 70% of this time you gonna be in the “queue”. JR is ideal for ego lifters, girls who seeking validations from others while wearing almost nothing etc. Crazy how from nice and playful concept is horrible smelly hole. It’s a shame i liked this gym. But you can do better somewhere else :) wayyy better. I quit my membership in the legitimate time so I really hope that they will not charge me more than they should. Lol I had to edit this review because constructive criticism is a hate speech based on google. So yeah..

I live near by, and really wanted to join the gym because I like the idea, design, etc. My close friend had contract and payment issues there, but nevertheless I went there to ask about membership once, and the lady was very rude and dismissive. I also read numerous bad reviews here (and especially the way the “owner” replies to the reviews only proves the point), as well as on other platforms. It’s huge red flag that this gym gets so much bad rep everywhere, and whoever is the “owner” should question their approach to running this business. I hope there is a different owner that will pay attention to what actual customers say, and one day I won’t be afraid to give my credit card details to them and could hopefully join this gym. I had to pay twice for activation of my card because they gave me monthly contract (which I asked for) but then they told me I dont need to take any action at the end of the month because they will take care of everything. After second month, assuming I am having this monthly contract like previously, I was happy to quit JR gym, but they keep sending me invoice. Someone has to stop this, get more responsible people to work for JR and use more convinient system for managing customers. Storing credit card details in your system is NOT how you get paid for service.

My expectations were different so i had to rate 2*, because i’ve always been in Düsseldorf and the johnreed they have was way much better. 1. The drinks are free and you can choose any of your favorite flavors. Which is so understandable because you workout so of course you need to stay hydrated. 2. We can lock and unlock the cabinets by card, in czech we have to bring our own locks which is kinda inconvenient. Like the last time i use lock for cabinets is maybe 10 years ago when i was in middle achool. 3. They have more machines, i need the one for hip thrust but here they said it still not coming yet. 4. I was surprised that here we don’t have sauna, thats what i liked the best from Düsseldorf. To sum up, i don’t understand why it’s all same brand but here misses so many things. The Düsseldorf one is much more modern and helpful. I can’t cancel my membership anymore since I signed right away cuz i expected they’d be the same. :( . I hope here in prague they will take some of my notes and upgrade it.

Has a lot of bench presses Has vending machines with drinks, proteins and whatnot Huge plust JD is open 24/7 a year around, no Xmas breaks, no public holidays. Always opened 😍 Has free weights and weights machine areas, functional area, cycling area, group classes area. Negatives: Locker rooms are very small, Not enough sets of small dumbbells ( for instance they have only one set of 5 kg dumbbells for the whole gym). Not cool. Crowded ( especially at the evening, just a zoo) No hip thrust machines ( pov: don't care but some women complained) Lots of people doing upper body workouts ( like bicep curls) at squat racks. Theres not that many squat racks and if some dumbo is doing curls at squat rack it's a bummer. Dumbell area is always very crowded No gym is perfect, but JD is good enough. I continue to go there. Been with JD since their opening ok in Prague.

This gym has been going down the drain since the original owner passed away. They won’t fixed the toilets for 3 weeks now. The place is busy with teenagers who come on free trials and music is blasting so loud you get anxiety from it. The only good thing is it’s staff. Cool people, all friendly and location is nice. If you wanna hit the gym once, it’s cool but stay away if you want to get a membership.

Awfully expensive. The entire place sports a faux-"it" style that can only leave a bitter taste. The kitsch decorations that adorn the place are outrageously tone deaf. The male dressing room is cramped and badly ventilated, not to mention that you can only enter it through a narrow choke point that is virtually always congested. There are very few taps to refill water in, resulting in long queues there. The toilets are always dirty and piss is everywhere. When the urinals broke it took forever to fix. The music is loud to the point of parody. Furthermore the place is almost always at full occupations meaning you have to wait to even get access to a machine. Some of the staff are nice and accommodating however, and all equipment one can expect is here.

I would give 1 star but im visiting this gym for almost 2 years and I know it wasnt like this before. The staff - The mojority, mostly the old school ones are very kind and helpful, the millenials are not. They are lazy, unwilling and unpleasant. The gym - Really nice atmosphere and decent machines, although it could use 2.-3 more squat racks and more tread mills, but what absolutely bothers me is the capacity. The gym is not large enough for so many people, its just so damn annoying. You have to wait in line to actually use a machine!!. So many people there do a set and then look at their phones for 5 minutes, its absolutely insane. Two times in a row i went home after not being able to workout because of so many people, everything is taken and everything has a line, everyone is waiting!! THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE, OPEN UP A SECOND GYM OR KICK THE PEOPLE THAT USE A MACHINE FOR 20 minutes!

Safety: I've never had anything stolen at this gym and I've been going for years. I've never felt unsafe even when going there in the middle of the night. None of the male staff has ever made me uncomfortable. None of the male gym goers have been inappropriate either. The gym is very diverse and from my personal experience welcoming of everyone. I really value that. MINUSES: The management is horrible to deal with. Email only, inflexible, unhelpful. Contract information is messy. I've had issues with them not knowing their own policies/contracts esp when dealing with COVID closures and reimbursement. You have to be very careful with keeping up with when your contract ends and with cancelling on time. You need to ask to be upgraded to gold (for free) after you qualify for it, otherwise nobody will tell you. The DJs tend to play the music too loud - sometimes at unsafe decibel levels, so I recommend earplugs or avoiding those hours. I've tried telling the management before, but nobody cares. (That's pretty normal, CZ is behind in hearing safety. But even with these minuses, I'm still convinced it's the best gym in Prague in this price range. It's safe, it's diverse and accepting. The gym is really nice. I'm doing workout at John Reed Fitness Praha since September and it has been a great a experience. The gym has a nice ambiance. Amazing staff and great machines. I am enjoying my fitness journey. Highly recommended if you are looking for a gym. :)

Great place, full of equipment and space. there's a vending machine for snacks and drinks. The best thing is that It's OPEN 24/7, which is very unusual in Prague. Staff is very nice and helpful. They speak English.

International standard of JR Clubs, for me perfect as it is 24/7 open. Top Equipment, clean and continuously maintained and disinfected. Super nice personnel, engaged and passionate trainers, cool ambient, my first choice for a fitness club

This is an amazing gym if you’re around Prague for a couple of days. They partner up with Mosaic house just around the corner. The mosaic house’s gym pass allows you to access this super well equipped gym. Dumbbells, machines, bikes, treads… mobility area. You make it! The vibe is super chilled and mysterious with dark lighting 😎 if you don’t ever skip a workout while on b-leisure, this is the place.

First of all I would like to say that there are aspects of the gym that I like but...... yesterday opening a constructive criticism with the staff of gym , regarding the male lockers, I was told that the gym has standards, which are the soft lights....and blablabla , so I decided to make my experience public, 1- number of men lockers (170) , you can’t fit on it a winter jacket, backpack with a laptop and your clothes at once.BRING YOUR Lock pad better. 2- the tiny messy crowded often overcrowded men's changing rooms, (30 square meters usable space, size as hotels rooms or studio apartment) 3- if you want to have TAP WATER YOU MUST RUN IT IN THE SHOWERS! OR UNDER THE URINALS!!!! 3- recently the already limited showers of 3 were reduced to 2 for several weeks 4-2 urinals was closed for weeks, toilets limited to 2, before the tap water problem. 5- prices are in order as for all JR in the world by the same price.. 6- I would like to point out to the administration that the contract if terminated by the customer entails sanctions, therefore I ask the company that manages John Reed in Prague to behave with customers in an appropriate manner and not distort the customers' experiences by talking about soft lights, ignoring the needs of thousands of customers.. Well do you mind that the membership can also allow visit from all sites of JR, so then is hundreds of thousands of clients you are ignore. thanks for your answer Photo sources internet

I've been going there for over a year and a half, and the fitness center has always been overcrowded for the last year, the reception staff are unpleasant and can't even smile at you, and they can't help you in anything. The premises themselves are great, but when you always have twice as many people there as there should be, there is not even room for exercise, there is even a queue for equipment. The women's changing rooms are unhygienic, not a place you want to go
